1. Day 3 ASSURE
Students will be in the first grade with previous knowledge of counting
numbers and patterns. The classroom will consist of 16 students, 9 girls
and 7 boys, 2 with ADHD, and 1 with autism. Students will have a
previous knowledge of counting, addition and subtraction, completing
word problems in math, as well as a basic knowledge on how to make arts
and bots from previous class activities.
Students will use WebQuests to learn how to count and manage money,
what it takes to start a business, the transportation of goods, and how to
manage a store. Next we will look at a poster that shows a basic one dollar
bill that students can relate to now in comparison to some other forms of
money around the world. This will help students understand the
globalization of money. Last students will compete an art project where
they make their own money with their faces on it. They will also
demonstrate to their classmates why they chose the colors and pictures
that they chose for their currency. These activities will prepare them for
the final class activity of a Classroom Mall.
Students will use computers and iPads to complete the WebQuests
and making their own money and use visual posters to get ideas from
other countries’ money.
The final in class activity will assess their knowledge of skills to this
point.
2. Students will have the materials available to them online to practice
and study at home to prepare for the in class final project.
