1. In collaboration with the Finnish-Liberian Friendship Association SULIS ry -
FILIFA I intend to launch a Pan Scandinavian and Finnish-Liberian Friendship
wide appeal to all academics, philanthropists and compassionate study
enthusiasts on behalf of of the many deprived students in Liberia for much
needed books and educational
materials.
This is because as a result of the fourteen years Liberian Civil War in Liberia,
many Children and students watched as schools and educational institutions
were looted destroyed and even burnt down.
Books, computers, type writer and other school furniture were used as "firewood"
and or destroyed indiscriminately. Currently peace and stability is returned to our
beloved Country, hence the urgent need to help rejuvenate the educational
system and structures as "everyday life" returned to normal in Africa`s first and
oldest independent Republic.
Annually since the end of the Civil crisis, Liberian students are eagerly and
courageously returning to school in order to fulfil their inallienable rights and
scholastic dreams.
I strongly believe that Education is a RIGHT and should not be a privilege.
Therefore, as the Country suffers and and as many Liberian Students are faced
with the lack of books and school materials in delapidated schooling
environment.
I am henceforth suggesting that we as an Association subscribe to make a
COLLECTIVE appeal to all Academicians and academic institutions as well as
Philantropists and Friends of Liberia.
Our appeal should be to search from their many abandoned CELLARS,
STORAGES, and GARAGES. My plan is that we ask and appeal to prominent
senior citizens and Grass-roots initiatives Groups to dust-up ALL old and
unwanted school books and study and/or learning materials that are available
and at their disposal. My idea is that we ask these potential partners to NOW get
raid off these junk and unwanted books by donating them to us- SULIS ry -
FILIFA. and not to throw them away!
Donate them to the Liberian student's future!!!
There's a child everywhere in Liberia looking forward to a bright and sound
future. No amount of school books is too LITTLE or LESS to give or contribute to
this noble cause for the future generation of Liberia.
2. DONATE YOUR USED SCHOOL BOOKS TO LIBERIAN STUDENTS TODAY!
I am suggesting that BOOKS DONATIONS be made to the SuomiLiberia Seura
ry /Finnish-Liberian Friendship Association FILIFA (SULIS ry - FILIFA) through
me as a contact and liaison.
