Peace Camps - Lebanon
Joy of Giving’s peace colonies, initiated in 1985 during
the Lebanese civil war, have been meeting annually
since then. Every year, hundreds of kids from across
the country come together, without discrimination of
religion or region, to spread the ideas of peace.
Over 300 children from 8 to 13 years old come together
each year to share love, respect and forgiveness.
There, all have learned to live together despite their
differences. Once back in their families, they will
henceforth be messengers of peace.

-VISIT OF JUVENILE DELINQUENT CENTER
Monthly visits are organized for children in juvenile
delinquent centers. We go on a Saturday afternoon,
once a month, to a rehab center and offer many
activities, both physical (through games), and creative.
We also come to show and bring our support, and to
listen to them, something for them that is rarely
granted.

-SWEATERS FOR PRISONERS
On the occasion of Christmas, New Years and winter
coming rapidly, Joy of Giving, with other associations,
schools and universities, attempt to collect sweaters
that will distributed to all prisoners in Lebanese prisons
to keep them warm with the colder temperatures.
Much more than just a sweater, it’s a generous thought
that we will offer to our inmates, it’s more than just a
simple visit, it’s a time of sharing that we will live
together.

-CHRISTMAS TREE
Christmas and New Years are opportunities to bring the
Lebanese family together ,starting with our children. Our
objective was to introduce the children living in the colonies
during the year to one another. It was a magical day, the
meeting offered an oasis of joy with 800 children attending a
theatre performance offered by Gisele Hachem Zard and his
troupe in Jal el Dib. Later, Santa Clause made an
appearance to give out gifts. The children came from all over
Lebanon, irrespective of religious or political affiliation.
