1. Who is God?
Exod 5
2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should
obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD,
neither will I let Israel go.
Exod 9
16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up,
for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be
declared throughout all the earth.
It is important to you that the world know who
God is.
John 16
2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time
cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he
doeth God service.
3 And these things will they do unto you, because they
have not known the Father, nor me.
Exod 3
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto
the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of

2. your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to
me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
How does God want to be introduced?
Exod 3
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he
said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM
hath sent me unto you.
Present tense, not I will, or I can but… I Am.
He didn’t verify or confirm their questions; He simply
announced…I Am.
It is a personal introductionnot a theory, or theology
“unto you”.
The introduction to Pharaoh
Exod 5
3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with
us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the
desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall
upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.
It is important to you that the world know who God is.

3. Who is God
I. I Am- your Greatest Fear. (Ex 3:6)
Exod 3
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of
Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And
Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
Exod 3:8 And I am come down to deliver them out
of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up
out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a
land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of
the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites,
and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Exod 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac,
and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by
my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
Exod 6:6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I
am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the

their bondage, and I will redeem you with a
stretched out arm, and with great judgments:
Exod 7:5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the
LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt,
and bring out the children of Israel from among them.
Exod 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt
this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of
Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods
of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
Exod 12:23 For the LORD will pass through to smite
the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the
lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass
over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to
come in unto your houses to smite you.
Exod 12:29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the
LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt,
from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne
unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the
dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

5. Exod 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his
name.
I Am- Your Greatest Fear.
As if this fear was not enough he further informs you, you
must give account to Him- here and now.
II. I Am- Judge in this life and the next. (Ex 7:17;
8:22)
Exod 7
17 Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am
the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine
hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they
shall be turned to blood.
Exod 8
22 And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which
my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to
the end thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the
midst of the earth.
Heb 4:13-14 13 Neither is there any creature that is
not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked

6. and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we
have to do.
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that
is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let
us hold fast our profession.
Jas 4:12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save
and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
I Am- Your Greatest Fear.
I Am- Judge in this life and the next.
Not only does he level judgment, but requires payment.
III. I Am- able to get what you refuse to give. (Ex
14:4)
Exod 14
4 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow
after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and
upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am
the LORD. And they did so.
Exod 14

7. 8 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of
Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the
children of Israel went out with an high hand.
Exod 14:24-25 24 And it came to pass, that in the
morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of
the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the
cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,
25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave
them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee
from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for
them against the Egyptians.

He has never been defeated, and is always ready to prove
his superiority.
IV. I Am- the Universal heavy weight champ. (Ex
10:2)
Exod 10
2 And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of
thy son's son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and

8. my signs which I have done among them; that ye may
know how that I am the LORD.
[They knew from God’s 10 judgments on Pharaoh, the
HOW, I Am- is in Chapter 10]
Exod 20
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of
the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[10 Chapters later God gives 10 commandments,
beginning with I Am]
I Am- Your Greatest Fear.
I Am- Judge in this life and the next.
I Am- able to get what you refuse to give.
I Am- the Universal heavy weight Champ.
He secures His property with the same might that He proves
his dominion.
V. I Am- Jealous and Zealous. (Ex 20:5; 34:14)
Exod 20

9. 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve
them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting
the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third
and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exod 34
14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD,
whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

He is Available in your time of need.
VI. I Am- answer to the prayer of a righteous man.
(Ex 9:29)
Exod 9
29 And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of
the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD;
and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any
more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is
the LORD'S.

10. Jas 5:16b …The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous
man availeth much.
Ps 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very
present help in trouble.
I Am- Your Greatest Fear.
I Am- Judge in this life and the next.

I Am- the Universal heavy weight Champ.
I Am- Jealous and Zealous.
I Am- Answer to the Prayer of a righteous man.
He will not only help you out of trouble but can keep you
from trouble.
VII. I Am- preventative medicine. (Ex 15:26)
Exod 15
26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of
the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his
sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all
his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee,
which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the
LORD that healeth thee.

11. The diseases were not primarily to do with man’s health:
1. Water into blood Ex. 7:14–24
2. Frogs Ex. 7:25–8:15
3. Lice Ex. 8:16–19
4. Flies Ex. 8:20–32
5. Diseased livestock Ex. 9:1–7
6. Boils Ex. 9:8–12
7. Hail and fire Ex. 9:13–35
8. Locusts Ex. 10:1–20
9. Darkness for three days Ex. 10:21–29
10. Death of firstborn Ex. 11:1–12:36

VIII. I Am- Provider, even to the whiner. (Ex 16:12)

12. Exod 16
12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel:
speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in
the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall
know that I am the LORD your God.
I Am- Your Greatest Fear.
I Am- Judge in this life and the next.
I Am- able to get what you refuse to give.
I Am- the Universal heavy weight Champ.

I Am- Answer to the Prayer of a righteous man.

No human could have all these qualities and still be
Gracious.
IX. I Am- Gracious. (Ex 22:26-27)
Exod 22
26 If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge,
thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:

13. 27 For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his
skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass,
when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
God takes note of man’s discomfort in the night.

I Am- Jealous and Zealous.
I Am- Answer to the Prayer of a righteous man.

The only things He ask of man is praise and obedience.
X. I Am- Not Accepting of Excuses. (Ex 4:10-14)
Exod 3
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see,
God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and
said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go
unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of
Israel out of Egypt?
Exod 4
10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not
eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken
unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow
tongue.
11 And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's
mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing,
or the blind? have not I the LORD?
12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and
teach thee what thou shalt say.
13 And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand
of him whom thou wilt send.
14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against
Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I
know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh
forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be
glad in his heart.
Because Moses learned who I Am is both O.T. and N.T.
hinge on his service.

15. Ps 103:7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his
acts unto the children of Israel.
Isa 63:12 That led them by the right hand of Moses
with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them,
to make himself an everlasting name?
Luke 16:28-29 28 For I have five brethren; that he
may testify unto them, lest they also come into this
place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and
the prophets; let them hear them.
John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would
have believed me: for he wrote of me.
Rev 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the
servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God
Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of
saints.
