1. The Daily Sacrifice
Ezra 3:4
4) They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as it is written,
and offered the daily burnt offerings by number,
according to the custom, as the duty of every day
required;

1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of
God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

an hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou cause
the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drink
offering.
8) And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even: as the meat
offering of the morning, and as the drink offering thereof,
thou shalt offer it, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet
savour unto the LORD.

muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the

shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it
every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it;
and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings.

8) This book of the law shall not depart out of thy
mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and
night, that thou mayest observe to do according to
all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy
way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success.

ministering at a morning sacrifice

in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and
will look up.

7. 43) And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and
the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.
44) And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation,
and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his
sons, to minister to me in the priest's office.
There is a price to pay for being fully surrendered to God.
The ceremony of consecration was long, bloody, and it
took persistence to complete. Yet the reward was far
greater than the cost - the glory of the LORD was
revealed not only to the consecrated priests, but to the
people in general.
Exod 29:45
45) And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and
will be their God.

Exo 12:6; Act 3:1). The informants had probably visited
Ezra in the morning, so that he must have sat in this
position for many hours. The time of the evening sacrifice
was also the appointed time for prayer and confession.”

week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the
sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the
overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate,
even until the consummation, and that determined shall
be poured upon the desolate.

31) And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute
the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily
sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that
maketh desolate.
