TESTIMONY TAKE TWO
1. Testimony Take Two
Intro: 2Cor 3:3
3) Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to
be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written
not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living
God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables
of the heart.
Text: Exod 34
I. Hew Stone
Exod 34:1
1) And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee
two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will
write upon these tables the words that were in
the first tables, which thou brakest.
2. Exod 24:12
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up
to me into the mount, and be there: and I
will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and
commandments which I have written; that
thou mayest teach them.
Exod 31:18
And he gave unto Moses, when he had
made an end of communing with him upon
mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables
of stone, written with the finger of God.
Exod 34
1) And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee
two tables of stone like unto the first:
Hos 10:12
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in
mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is
3. time to seek the LORD, till he come and
rain righteousness upon you.
Jer 4:3-4
3 For thus saith the LORD to the men of
Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow
ground, and sow not among thorns.
4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and
take away the foreskins of your heart, ye
men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem:
lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn
that none can quench it, because of the evil
of your doings.
…and I will write upon these tables the words
that were in the first tables, which thou
brakest.
The words are still the same and not
softened to console the guilty.
4. II. Present Thyself
Exod 34:2
2) And be ready in the morning, and come up
in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present
thyself there to me in the top of the mount.
Heb 4:13
Neither is there any creature that is not
manifest in his sight: but all things are
naked and opened unto the eyes of him with
whom we have to do.
Eccl 12:14
For God shall bring every work into
judgment, with every secret thing, whether
it be good, or whether it be evil.
III. No Man
5. Exod 34:3
3) And no man shall come up with thee, neither
let any man be seen throughout all the mount;
neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that
mount.
IV. Take Heed
Exod 34:12
12) Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a
covenant with the inhabitants of the land
whither thou goest,
John 8:11
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said
unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go,
and sin no more.
6. Jas 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not
that the friendship of the world is enmity
with God? whosoever therefore will be a
friend of the world is the enemy of God.
lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:
Prov 6:2
Thou art snared with the words of thy
mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy
mouth.
Prov 14:27
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life,
to depart from the snares of death.
Prov 22:24-25
24 Make no friendship with an angry man;
and with a furious man thou shalt not go:
7. 25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare
to thy soul.
V. Face Shone
Exod 34:29
29) And it came to pass, when Moses came
down from mount Sinai with the two tables of
testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down
from the mount, that Moses wist not that the
skin of his face shone while he talked with
him.
Luke 16:15
And he said unto them, Ye are they which
justify yourselves before men; but God
knoweth your hearts: for that which is
highly esteemed among men is abomination
in the sight of God.
8. VI. Vail Off
Exod 34:33-34
33) And till Moses had done speaking with
them, he put a vail on his face.
34) But when Moses went in before the LORD
to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he
came out. And he came out, and spake unto the
children of Israel that which he was
commanded.
Jer 31:34
And they shall teach no more every man his
neighbour, and every man his brother,
saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all
know me, from the least of them unto the
greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will
forgive their iniquity, and I will remember
their sin no more.
9. Isa 43:25
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy
transgressions for mine own sake, and will
not remember thy sins.
Isa 44:22
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy
transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:
return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
Eph 1:7
In whom we have redemption through his
blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to
the riches of his grace;
Ps 51:12-13
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy
ways; and sinners shall be converted unto
thee.
10. Luke 22:31-32
31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon,
behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that
he may sift you as wheat:
32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith
fail not: and when thou art converted,
strengthen thy brethren.
