whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath deliveredthe kingdom
into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy
mischief, because thou art a bloody man.
9) Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this
dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off
his head.
10) And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? so
let him curse, because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David. Who
shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?
11) And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son,
which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now may
this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD hath
bidden him.
12) It may be that the LORD will look on mine affliction, and that the
LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day. (Heb11:6, Joel 2:14, Amos

2. 13) And as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the
hill's side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at
him, and cast dust.
14) And the king, and all the people that were with him, came weary, and
refreshedthemselves there.
(1Pet 2:20) For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye
shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it
patiently, this is acceptable with God.
(Heb 13:21) Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, workingin

before the king, as he was come over Jordan;

neither do thou remember that which thy servant did perverselythe day
that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to
his heart.
20) For thy servant doth know that I have sinned: therefore, behold, I am
come the first this day of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my
lord the king.
21) But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answeredand said, Shall not Shimei be
put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD'S anointed?
22) And David said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah, that ye
should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to
death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I am this day king over
Israel?
23) Therefore the king said unto Shimei, Thou shalt not die. And the king
sware unto him.
Ps 27 shall
1) A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I
fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2) When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to
eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3) Though an host should encamp againstme, my heart shall not fear:
though war shouldrise against me, in this will I be confident.
4) One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may
dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to beholdthe beauty
of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
4. 5) For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret
of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6) And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about
me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I
will sing praises unto the LORD.
7) Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and
answer me.
8) When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face,
LORD, will I seek.
9) Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servantaway in anger: thou
hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my
salvation.
10) When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take
me up.
11) Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of
mine enemies.
12) Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses
are risen up againstme, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13) I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodnessof the
LORD in the land of the living.
14) Waiton the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine
heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
