land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
Exod 13:17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh hadlet the people
go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the
Philistines,although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure
the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
Ps 77:19 Thy way in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and
thy footsteps are not known.
1Cor 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is
common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also
make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

2. 4 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I
will be honoured uponPharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians
may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

Pharaoh, andhis horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping
by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

3. The "devil" was a name for the longest seam of a woodenship,[1]
which ran
from the bow to the stern. When at sea and the devil had to be caulked, the
sailor sat in a bosun's chair to do so. He was suspended betweenthe devil
and the sea, a very precarious position, especiallywhen the ship was
underway. If sailors fell from a footrope under a yardarm, they would either
land on the deck(within the devil plank) or in the water (outside of the devil
plank). Either option is likely fatal. The filling of the seam with caulk (cotton
mostly) was called "paying", hence the expression"the devil to pay".
No soonerhad Israel left Egypt than they found themselves in a
predicament.They were betweenthe devil (Egyptian army) and the deep
blue sea (the Red Sea). Reality says, "The devil got you!" But God says
The LORD shall fight for you... The devil can only be defeated through the
power of God.When brought face to face with the devil and the deep blue
sea, our heavenly Captain is on the scene.If you do not have this Captain,
your peril is inevitable. The sea and the devil whith openarms, wait to
engulf your soul. (MUND, 2016)
Eph 6:10-11 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in
the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand
againstthe wiles of the devil.
Rev 20:13-15 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and
death and hell deliveredup the dead which were in them: and they
were judged every man accordingto their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the
second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast
into the lake of fire.

with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

Exod 14:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and
encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over
against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

6. (Josh 3:2, 13) This should have been what happened with Moses at the
Red Sea but he used his own judgment not Gods.
Josh 3:2 And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went
through the host;
Josh 3:13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet
of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth,
shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be
cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall
stand upon an heap.

God's battle plan alwaysseems to be at the wrong time
1Chr 12:15 These are they that went over Jordan in the first month,
when it had overflown all his banks; and they put to flightall them
of the valleys, both toward the east, and towardthe west.
The swelling of Jordan and the deep waters of the red sea are not for your
destruction,but an ambushfor God’s enemy
Jer 49:18-22 18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and
the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide
there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.
19 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan
againstthe habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run
away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over
her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who
is that shepherd that will stand before me?
20 Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken
againstEdom; and his purposes, that he hath purposedagainst the
inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them
out: surelyhe shall make their habitations desolate with them.
21 The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise
