2. The medium long shot depicts the main artist at the
centre of a group of people at a house party. This
choice of shot helps focus the attention on the artist
but not so much that it draws completely away from
everyone else in the shot.
3. There are also some intertextual
references in the video such as
this scene, where the DJ is seen
holding a vinyl record which is
actually the artists record and
features this song.
4. This is a medium close up similar to a
previous scene where the artist is again at
the centre of a group of people who are
moving in slow motion whilst he is
performing the lyrics at normal speed.
5. This is a close up of the artist again singing the lyrics but
this time he is holding up a gold necklace which is typical
of rap/hip hop artists to do in videos as this shows off their
wealth and pride for their belongings. The necklace appears
to be one of jesus which presumably shows that the artist
is also a religious kind.
6. This is a close up of a two shot in which the
main artist is performing the lyrics along with
fellow hip hop artist Drake. This would help
bring in a larger audience as fans of Drake
may also view the video and this will help Kid
Cudi in achieving sales.
7. This is a wide shot, showing the artist at the
centre of two groups of people partying.
The people are moving in slow motion, whilst
the artist is moving at normal speed.
8. This is a medium close up which shows the
artist in front of the camera as the people
behind him are also shown enjoying
themselves at the party and the camera
doesn't only focus on him.
9. This is a close up of the artist, however this
shot is also quite blurry because in the video
the artist is shown to be drunk at this point
and therefore a blurry effect shows ho he
may be seeing things at the time.
10. In the previous shot the artist was shown to
be drunk and therefore these 2 medium
close ups show a notion of looking between
the artist and the 2 sides of him in the
video. It is made out to look as if he is
hallucinating and seeing another version of
him as shown in these 2 shots.
