2.  For more than 40 years, Wanner Engineering has
manufactured diaphragm pumps with high-pressure
positive displacement. Wanner Engineering has also
introduced a number of functionality-optimizing
accessories, such as the hydra-cell pulsation dampener.
Designed to support continuous flow of fluid in a pump
system, the pulsation dampener protects the components
of a pipe from the wear and tear of normal use. Under
typical circumstances, the moving parts of a pipe wear on
each other and reduce the equipment's longevity.
Whether or not it depends on hydraulic motion for power,
by nature, a pump is susceptible to fluctuations of pressure
inside the structure.

3.  This stems from the compression wave that
high-pressure fluid creates when it comes in
contact with a bend or other restriction
within the pump's structure, which causes
both absorption and reflection that
interrupts flow.
By reducing these levels by up to 99
percent, pulsation dampeners protect
against hydraulic shock and other
malfunctions.

4.  They are particularly effective for positive
displacement pumps, which operate
using a reciprocating stroking
mechanism that creates potentially
damaging levels of pulsation. By
protecting against this effect, the
dampener extends the life of the unit
while also optimizing accuracy of
internal metrics and enabling more even
spraying or coating.
