focusfor effect. Ima proudof the varietyof shotsI have used,forexample the trackingshotssuchas
whenthe robbersare checkingunderthe bedand behindthe curtains.Ibelieve these addastylistic
effecttothe filmandincrease tensionwhichisaneffectIwantedtogive.Onthe topicof soundI
believemostof the time isof a highqualityyetsome partswere difficulttoeditauthentically,for
example the footstepsdownthe hallwayfadinginandfadingout,yetotherparts suchas the sound
effectsbetweenshotsIbelievecreate anincreasedflow andsmoothnessthroughoutthe film.The
genre isone place where Ibelieve itendedupbecomingastrongercomedythana thriller,thoughI
made sure to keepthe thrilleraspectsapparentthroughoutthe film.The costumeswere somewhat
comical,andbe itunintentional,itwassomethingIhadto work withalongside the robbers
throughoutthe filmingprocess.The propsandlocationwere suitableforcreatingmis-en-scenewell
howeverandalongwitheditingaspectssuchasthe lightingIbelieve these aspectscame out
successful.
One strengthof the film,Ibelieve isthe varietyof shotsIhave usedandthe smoothtransitions
betweenscenes.Ialsolike the use of soundeffectsbetweenshotstoincrease the flow of the plot.
However,Ibelieve one weaknessof myfilmisthe dialogue inscene 1. Itis a shame that the actors
that playedthese charactershadschedulesthatdidn’tmatchup,andtherefore Iwasunable to
shootthisscene withbothat the same time.Forthis reason, Ibelieve thatthe dialoguedoesn’tflow
inthe wayI wouldlike ittoand the authenticityisdamagedbythis.Inthe future Iwouldplanthe
schedule beforeIconfirmactorsand make sure that the shotswouldbe able to be filmedatthe
same time withall participants.
WithinUnit16 and the pitchingof my ideasIlearntthe importance of beingable tocommunicate
my ideas, whichwasindeedagreatertaskthanformulatingtheminjustmyownhead.The task of
havingto sell myintentionsandimaginationsof the shortfilmwithinthe giventimeisone Ifound
