Can I delete posts?
Answer:
Yes. Take these steps:
> Forum options
> Admin options
> Delete Posts
Click the checkboxes on all posts that you want to delete, then click on 'Delete Messages' at the
bottum of the page.
2. If you want to delete a whole thread, you have to click on all messages of that thread. Take care
when you delete 'sticky posts'!
2
What is a sticky post? They are shown at the top of all threads, Is it for example possible that the
welcome post of a teacher to his students is a sticky post?
Answer:
Yes, that is its purpose. Initially, the most recent message will be at the top of the overview, but
when you mark a message as “sticky”, it will always be at the top of the overview. Typically this is
done with welcome messages or instructions for a particular exercise
3
What is the best way to delete sticky posts?
Answer:
A message can always be put down on the first place via Sticky Posts in the admin option.
However, be careful, if you want to delete such a message: That message is indeed on the top, but
remains intact as a message in the original thread in the chronological order of the board. It is not a
copy of the first shot, but the same message is just shown two times on the voicemailboard
The easiest solution is to delete the original message and not the sticky post. Another possibility is
first to remove the sticky status, because then the message is not two times in the statement.

Is it possible to allow New topics to teachers or admins only?
Answer:
Yes, proceed as follows. Put a message on the VMB with the desired name such as "teacher".
Thereafter, this name can be marked as a VIP in the admin section of the board.
> Forum opties
> Admin opties
> Add/Remove VIP
> Add VIP
3. Check the appropriate message, click 'Select poster' and then 'Save VIP'.
Only threads that are opened with the name 'teacher' (without quotation marks) in the name field
will be placed on the VMB.
You can even restrict certain computers to allow posting messages by carrying out a check on the IP
address of the computer, but then you can only start a thread from that computer with that IP
address (for example only from your computer at home).

I don't understand the FAQ question 4, about the possibility that new topics can only be posted by
the admin. If I were the only one, who can post new topics, this means that students cannot? Why
would a teacher have this?
Answer:
In that case, Students won’t be able to start a new thread, but they can of course respond to an
existing thread. The advantage for the teacher is that you then force your students to reply on an
earlier topic or question and the messages will not appear across the voicemailboard. It is also
immediately clear to which question a certain message belongs.
6
Can I ban certain posters?
Answer:
Yes, proceed as follows:
> Forum options
> Admin options
> Add/Remove Ban
> Add Ban
Check the person to ban, click on 'Select poster' and then on 'Save Flag'.
7
What is the difference between banning and deleting?
Answer:
By banning a particular user or IP address is banned from the voicemailboard. By deleting, one or
more posts are deleted from the voicemailboard..
8
What is a thread?
Answer:
A thread is the set of responses/reactions to a particular question. For example:

answer at this time only the questions on the first page and they don't see that they can click through
the pages to the other questions!

I have many posts on the board. What should I do to put all messages on a CD? It's a lot of work to
save each message individually. Is there a faster way?
Answer:
You can use the backup button under 'Forum options'.
Alternatively, you can also use the link to the ipod/itunes-podcastfeed to backup the mp3’s to your
ipod.

On my voicemailboard there are a lot of messages. A wonderful resource, but as more and more
messages are on the board, opening and loading the page gets almost impossible. Is it possible to set
the interface in a way, that everybody see the threads first and have to click on them to see all
messages within the thread?
Answer:
Under 'Forum options' you can adjust that. Under 'Index presentation' there are various choices to
display it to your own taste. This setting is only retained on your own computer. If you have a
certain preference that must be applied to all computers, you can let us set it like that. Please contact
us under support@webindeklas.nl.
