The only way to determine this is by looking at the past to see what the evolution of insights tells us about the future. Here are some highlights: 2000s 1981 IBM Personal Computer [PC] is launched, leading to the development of Computer Aided Personal Interviewing [CAPI]. 1942 The ratings index for radio listeners marks the beginning of an audience measurement system. ONLINE RESEARCH grows, leading to the increased speed and decreased cost of data collection. 1990s Analysis software like SAS, SPSS, and tabulation packages are available on desktop PCs, while low cost programs appear for CAPI and analysis.
