In TCS working in Chemical Major Manufacturing account for past 8 year
TCS is providing Business Process Services (BPS) support for back office activities in Supply Chain/ Purchasing/
Finance/ Customer Services/ Human Resource Management / Environment Health & Safety / Market Sell and Finance.
The support is provided through 5 global delivery centers. In India there is single location involving 1000+ associates.
TCS is also providing Application Development & Maintenance (ADM) support for 200+ applications involving SAP /
Microsoft / Java / Oracle / Siebel / Mainframe & PeopleSoft. Approximately 100+ associates are involved in onsite /
offshore model.
As a functional resource, I was assigned to IT support / Consulting assignments and Process improvements projects.
Some of the projects are described below:

2. − Executed Application Portfolio optimisation project for TCS scope of application, the project involved detailed
data gathering, validation with customer and recommending application disposition based on parameter like
value / cost of ownership / technology state.
We could achieve 50% reduction in portfolio due retirement of LN platform and SAP ECC6 implementation.
− Carried out Order to cash business process assessment with detailing around, work process, team interactions,
measurement metrics involved. The end objective was to reduce unnecessary handoffs and improve order to
cash cycle time for the client.
− Supply chain strategy development to address demand growth in Africa region, this involve data gathering and
analysis of historical shipments to the region, analysis of transportation and warehousing capabilities, suitable
supply ports, and country specific most effective modes and term of shipment to the region.
− Worked on multiple supply chain network optimization projects, involving application of advance analytics tool
like Logic Net Plus. These project involve very systematic and disciplined approach right through shipment data
extraction, Logistics cost modeling, development of AS-IS supply chain scenario and comparison with TO-BE
scenario. All along the project the analysis and findings have to be validated, and Buy in from Business Supply
Chain Planner is must at each stage of the project.
− Developed a Know Your Customer (KYC) deck for faster on boarding and functional competency development
of support team. The slides were developed with detailing on types of manufacturing, Client specific product
value chain, Operating segments and analysis of key strengths.
− Worked in application development projects as business analyst and worked on functionality requirement
mapping / traceability matrix / test case development / application testing and documentation development.
Key Achievements:
− Successful completion of application portfolio optimization project. This project has resulted in identification of
opportunity to retire 50 % of applications in support scope.
− Field trial database development project was completed within budgeted time and cost with high customer
satisfaction level and positive feedback.
− Analysis of Global marine logistics for the customer for next 20 years considering additional volumes and
logistics cost modelling. Most suitable port to serve as distribution hub for SE Asia was also evaluated and
recommended as part of project.
− Evaluation of warehousing capacities and distribution network in Europe consider additional supply points and
warehouses getting added due to M&A activity.

3. I worked in Customer Service Division with responsibility of monitoring and ensuring compliance of processes. Analyze
sub optimal shipments and premium freight incurred on ongoing basis. Develop plan with surface transport group to avoid
revenue leakage.
− Development of Annual Logistics Plan, which is constraint based optimisation of Rail and Road dispatches for
minimization of Total Delivery System Cost through What’s Best Software (Linear Programming Model).
− Monitor and track Dispatch & Delivery compliance on a weekly window for higher delivery accuracy
− Responsible for implementation Tata Business Excellence Model of the division, Annual Quality Improvement
Plan formulation, Formulation and updation of Balanced Score Card for Chief CSD.
− Supply Chain network design & inventory planning to cater OEM clients with high service level requirements.
− Track various Logistics parameters along with variance analysis for Top Management. (Monthly MIS and EIS
for Customer Service Division).
− Handle Process mapping and process quantifier tracking for TS 16949 certification of Flat products division.
Key Achievements:
− Total Delivery System Cost (TDSC) model at Product/ Quality/ Size (PQS) level, which resulted in bringing down
TDSC from 1450 to 1375 Rs/t in 2 years and a savings of 20 Crores.
− Developed inventory model for Sales & Distribution of Galvanized Corrugated sheets which resulted in proper
stocking at warehouses & stock aggregation at plant
− Implemented improved packaging practices to eliminate in transit damages and handling damages to Flat and
Long Products.
− Developed a cost to serve model to enable reliable decision making by M & S field staff.
− Implemented Bar Coding System in the hubs & stockyards to automate traceability and faster & accurate
documentation.
− Actively involved in development of Lotus Notes based Complaint handling system which has defined routing
and escalation clauses based on which complaints are serviced
− Developed discrete event simulation models using Quest software (package from Delmia Inc.), which has been
used for conducting feasibility studies for up coming facilities.
− Maintaining quality manual and procedures of the customer service division for ISO 9001 – 2000 version
certification.
