1. Viraj Clean Sea Enterprises
(VirajCSE) is one of India’s leading organisations in the field of
Marine Emergency Response (Offshore-Onshore Oil & HNS Spill
Response, Underwater Salvage & Diving), Environmental
Preservation and Coastal Security.
Since its inception in 1997, VirajCSE has put in place systems and
procedures across India and abroad for the prevention and control
of environmental marine pollution, and the maintenance of the
Earth’s marine ecosystems.
The organisation’s association with the ISCO (since 2007) provides
it with the international exposure it requires to successfully handle
any oil or HNS spill situation in domestic or international waters.

Development Organisation (DRDO), MOD, GOI, has
transferred the technology of its prestigious project
of bioremediation of floating oil to VirajCSE.
6. COMPRESSED AIR FOAM SYSTEMS (CAFS)
& CBRN DECONTAMINATION KITS
Compressed Air Foam Systems (CAFS) are advanced and highly efficient foam-based
fire-fighting systems that utilise compressed air to improve the fire-fighting
capability of its flame retardant foam.
This system is mainly used in fighting class A and B type fires, and is especially
useful in remote areas where accessibility and logistics support is difficult to reach
and immediate action is required.
These systems are available in varying sizes depending on individual fire-fighting
requirements and can also be used in combating biological and chemical
decontamination.
The decontaminant used in CAFS is US Government approved.

9. Intelagard
Intelagard has been building proprietary, multipurpose Compressed Air Foam
Systems (CAFS) for more than 20 years. The patented mixing technology
incorporated into these systems – which range in size from a small, 2 gallon wheeled
backpack to a 500 gallon skid unit – creates a foam with a unique bubble structure
that can adhere to vertical surfaces such as glass and metal.
Successfully tested and used by the US Military for over a decade, Intelagard
CAFS have been proven to be effective and efficient in a wide array of
demanding environments and situations.
In fact, the Intelagard Macaw® Backpack is the CAF backpack of choice for
the US Military and numerous government agencies.
10. Intelagard, Inc. is dedicated to protecting lives and property around the
world through innovative Compressed Air Foam technology and
formulas.
Intelagard CAFS are constructed with materials specifically chosen to
withstand corrosion and wear.
Easy to use and maintain, an Intelagard CAFS is a versatile and economic
piece of equipment that can deploy liquids, and both air aspirated and
compressed air foams.
Use a single system for fire suppression one day, decontamination the
next, and clean a hazmat spill up the next week.

17. Why Compressed Air Foam?
Foam is quickly becoming the tool of choice for first responders around the world. Recognized for its
many advantages over water, foam is also proven to be more effective than liquid in areas such as
hazmat cleanup and decontamination. Some of the benefits of foam include:
Foam maintains a longer wet contact time than a fluid. This translates into fewer applications and less
concentrate required.
Foam is lighter than a fluid, resulting in longer throw distance. The user can maintain a greater distance
from the ‘threat’ being addressed.
Being lighter, foam weighs much less in the hose, reducing user fatigue and minimizing personnel
requirements.
Compared to a liquid, foam provides a clear visual indication of which area has been treated, and which
may have been missed. This ensures that every surface is addressed, and prevents spraying the same
area twice.
18. Why Intelagard CAFS?
A Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) is defined as a standard water
pumping system that has an entry point where compressed air can be
added to a foam solution to generate foam. Compressed air, whether
provided by a compressor or high pressure air bottle, propels the foam
farther than aspirated or standard water nozzles. As a whole, CAFS
produce a more stable foam structure than aspirated systems do.
Intelagard, using its proprietary Enviroshield® technology, sets the
standard for a uniform structure of small bubbles. Intelagard CAFS are
unique in that:
19. Why Intelagard CAFS?
they do not use engine driven pumps. Intelagard CAFS’s diaphragm pumps do not
use internal balancing valves, a failure-prone component of other CAFS pumps.
they have fewer moving parts than competing systems. Intelagard’s design has no
rotating shafts or impellers. They can run dry all day long and not destroy
themselves like conventional CAFS pumps.
they do not have the number of friction points that centrifugal pump systems do.
Intelagard’s design eliminates these friction points, resulting in draft fluid distances
– horizontal and vertical – much greater than that of other CAFS.
they are true multi-hazard response systems. Any Intelagard CAFS can be used to
apply Class A, AFFF, AR-AFFF and protein foams for fire fighting AND foaming
agents such as EasyDECON DF200for use in hazmat response, mold control and
many other applications. Because Intelagard systems are dual use (fire and decon),
they qualify for purchase with both fire AND DHS grants!
20. Why Intelagard CAFS?
Intelagard’s CAFS are designed such that liquid storage tanks are
never under pressure. Advantages of this include (1) the ability to
refill while the system is running; (2) the fluid tank can be emptied
completely, unlike pressure vessel systems; and (3) air cylinders can
be replaced quickly in the field without the need to completely re-
pressurize the system. Certain Intelagard systems can even self-fill
while conducting spray operations.
many have the capability to draft directly either from onboard tanks or
external fluid sources.
they are modular. Intelagard CAFS can be scaled and integrated into
literally any wheeled vehicle platform in accordance with user
requirements.
