12. TASK
 Open the source file remora.jpg.
 Edit the dimensions of the image.
 Open the properties dialog box of the edited image.
 Show the date modified and the changed dimensions of the image. SS
 Paste the SS in the evidence document.
 Ensure when you take screenshots you show all the information that is
needed.
 The screenshot should be large enough so that all the information can be
read by the examiner without the use of magnification devices.
 Your name , centre number and candidate number must be on all work
 If an item such as a browser view is required, show the examiner that
your web page is displayed in a browser.
 The address of the web page must be visible, and the SS should not be in
an editing package.

15. GENERIC FILE FORMATS
• CSV: Comma separated values; takes data in the form of tables;
saves it in text format; separating data by commas. sample1
• TXT: file is not formatted ; can be opened in any word processor;
example notepad
• RTF: text is with some of the formatting; can be opened with
Microsoft word, notepad. sample2
• GIF: stores still or moving images;images with large areas of solid
colors can be saved using smaller file size.
• JPEG/JPG: stores still images; stores images in smaller file size

16. GENERIC FILE FORMATS
• PDF: document converted into an image; contains clickable links,
video, audio, form fields; can be protected to stop others from

• PNG: compresses graphics files without any loss of quality; was
created to replace GIF; widely used lossless image compression
format on internet
• MP4: not a single file format; it is a multimedia container; used to
transfer video files on internet
• MP3: compressed file format; stores audio files and not moving or
still images; suitable for use on the internet
• CSS: attached to one or more web pages; defines the format of the
web pages

17. GENERIC FILE FORMATS
• HTML: text based language; used to create content that can be
displayed on the web browser
• RAR/ZIP: container that can store any file type in a compressed
format; reduces the number of bytes needed to save file to reduce
storage space or save file transmission time.

18. REDUCING FILE SIZE FOR STORAGE
AND TRANSMISSION
• Resampling image: Resampling is the technique of manipulating a
digital image and transforming it into another form. This
manipulation could be for various reasons - change of resolution,
change of orientation, i.e. rotation, change of sampling points, etc.
