4. Tilting Kneader Extruder:
Also known as Double Sigma
Blade Kneader
Most reliable mixer
Improve the production
capabilities
Most advanced system for
I.
Kneading
II. Mixing
III.Humidifying
IV. Homogenizing
(For highly viscous Wet or Pasty
products)
6. Construction
1. Sigma Blades
Made of:
I.
Cast carbon steel
II. Cast carbon stainless steel cladding
2. Mixing trough
Made of:
Carbon, stainless & wear resistant steel of specific alloys
Provided with:
I.
Heating or cooling jacket suitable for steam, hot/cold
water, oil glycol etc.
II. Fiberglass insulation
III.Carbon/stainless steel sheathing over the jacket
7. Stuffing b0x
Each blade is sealed with stuffing box inside mixing trough.
Supplied in split construction that allows easy & quick
maintenance.
Supplied with either PFTE or PFTE/graphite braided square
packing
Made of with such a material and in design to work under
high vacuum, sanitary applications etc.
Cover
Made of carbon or stainless steel.
Constructed to be dust tight for vacuum or for pressure.
Lifted manually with counterweights or hydraulically.
Provided with safety grating to prevent from coming in
contact with personnel.
8. Control panel
It includes:
Stop/start button for all motors
mixers.
An ammeter, digital temperature
readout.
Pushbuttons for tilting & cover
lift and hydraulic system.
10. Princple Operations
Designed for batch operation with the sequence of
three operations.
1. Loading of one or various products
2. Kneading or homogenization
3. Discharge
12. Homogenization:
Carried out by the action of
two “Z” shaped blades placed in
the bottom of trough
horizontally and parallel.
Blades rotate convergently at
different speeds guiding the
product flow in an "8“ shaped
pattern inside the trough.
13. Discharge:
Normally carried out by tilting
the mixing trough forward, by
the use of a hydraulic system
located on the mixer skid.
In the heavy and extra heavy
construction, tilting is not
carried out.
So we use two special hinges
in the front of the mixer that
improve the discharge, as they
raise the height of the trough
during the tilting.
15. Advantages
Fixed installation of product loading and unloading
systems.
automation possibilities.
Atmospheric pressure or vacuum operation.
Heating or cooling capabilities.
The most advanced drive and safety systems.
