Facts 
 Kerala varma Pazhassi Raja was the young prince of Pazhassiyil Padinjare Kovilakom of Kottayam near 
Kannoor. 
 Pazhassi acted as an ally of British in their Mysore invasions. 
 The British offered the right to collect revenue in the Kottayam area. 
 Pazhassi Raja attempted to eliminate colonial power through guerilla welfare with the assistance of his 
soldiers including Kurichyas the tribal community of Wayyanad, Nairs and mappilas. 
 Pazhassi raja strongly opposed the revenue collecting system.
 Pazhassi went in to exiled in the Wayanad forest and continued his struggle from there. 
 Pazhassi killed himself on 30 November 1805. 
Concept or principle 
 Pazhassi Raja attempted to eliminate colonial power through guerilla war fare with the assistance of his 
soldiers including Kurichyas, the tribal community of Wayanad Nairs and Mappilas. 
Pre requisite 
 Pupil have a little knowledge about the guerilla war fare of Pazhassi Raja

Introduction 
Teacher a enters the class room and interact friendly 
with the pupil, then teacher insisting them to pray for a 
moment for ever national leaders. Then teacher tries to 
motivate the pupil through playing an audio 
(Adhiyushasandhya Poothathivide). After a while 
teacher asks them. To identify the film. Through their 
answer teacher enters into the topic. “The warrior 
Pazhassi.” 
Pupil identify the film 
Activity -1 Response 
Teacher present the profile of Pazhassi raja through 
power point .After that, teacher says Kerala Varma 
Pazhassi raja popularly known as lion of Kerala was the 
young prince of Pazhassiyil Padinjare Kovilakom of 
Kottayam near Kanoor. And teacher asks to the pupil 
that what is the peculiarity of Pazhassi raja? 
Then teacher shows the map of Kerala during the period
of Pazhassi raja and asks the pupil to identify the 
princely the states of Pazhassi raja? 
After a while, teacher gives an overview about this to 
the people. 
Pupil identify the princely state 
Activity -2 Response 
Pazhassi acted as an ally of British in their Mysore 
invasions. The british offerd in return the right to collect 
revenue in the Kottayam area. After the Mysore wars, 
they gave the right to collect taxes from Kottayam to the 
King of Kurumanadu,
