to the HISD
Name That
Book
Competition

2. The Name That Book
contest, coordinated by
the HISD Department of
Library Services, serves to
acquaint HISD students
with classic literature as
well as contemporary
award-winning books,
representing a variety of
genres. The district-wide
competition is held in the
spring.
3. 1. May 2021- February 2022
Students read books from an
annual list of titles compiled by
students, teachers, and librarians.
Students can work as a class to
complete the list. Students stagger
the reading list, reading about six
to seven books each.
2. Ms. Hunter may come to your
class or small groups can visit the
library for practice in addition to
the lunch time practice.
3. March 2022
Students from a campus will work
as a team to identify quotes read
orally from the list of books.

budget allows
4. ESSER Funds if school
participation contract is signed
