2. Me
Hi, my name is Alex. It’s nice to meet you. Come with me as I show you
my place in the world.
3. My Home
This is my home. It’s a house as you can see. We have three bedrooms
and a small backyard with a trampoline. I live with my mum, Jill, my
dad, Kumar, and my little sister, Olivia.
What is your home like?
4. My Street
My street is called George Street. We have really nice neighbours. Lots of
kids live on my street and we all play together on the weekend.
What’s your street called?
5. My Suburb
The suburb I live in is called Northcote. We have a train station, lots of
different shops, a play park and a library. I am in Year 2 at Northcote
Primary School.
Do you live in a suburb?
6. My City
I live in Melbourne. It’s a really big city. There is lots to see and do. We
have a special stadium called the MCG. I love to go there and watch
Aussie rules – my favourite team is Hawthorn.
Do you live in a town or a city? What’s it called?
7. My State
My state is called Victoria. Melbourne is the capital city. We have
beautiful beaches but you can also go skiing in the winter. That’s
pretty amazing.
What state do you live in? Can you tell me anything about it?
8. My Country
I live in Australia. Australians come from all over the world. My dad is
from India and my mum is from Queensland. My sister and I were both
born in Victoria. It’s a big country with golden beaches, wet
rainforests, dry deserts and lots of animals you won’t find anywhere
else in the world.
What else do you know about Australia?
9. My Continent
Australia is so big that it’s called an island-continent. There are seven
continents altogether.
Can you name them?
What do you know about the other continents?
10. My World
My world is called Earth. From vast oceans to towering mountains, from
tiny villages to big cities, it has it all. It is an amazing place but I know
we need to look after it.
This is my place in the world and it is where I belong.
