1. Final Idea
After conducting our primary research on music videos, we have concluded to use Birdy’s “Keeping Your
Head Up”. This is because in our research we found out that most interviewee's preferred when a song was
less mainstream and more original/different, which is evident that Imagine Dragons “On Top Of The World” is
not. Another reason why we have decided to use the song “Keeping Your Head Up” is because we found out
that a performance based music video is more interesting for the viewers. “Keeping Your Head Up” includes
many elements of performance such as lip-syncing, dancing, etc. where as if we chose our other option there
would have been minimal performance.
More over, one of the main and other reasons for not choosing the song “On Top Of The World” is because
we do not have access to the software we would need to create the picture frame portal effect.

2. Locations
For our music video we have decided to film in several locations.
Imperial Rd,Windsor SL4 3RY
One of our locations is in a black
box studio atWindsorGirls’ School,
Windsor.
Another location where we
will be filming isTheWindsor
Great Park.
Cow Pond, EnglefieldGreen
We will be filming in
different areas of the
park:
On the bridge, by the
pond.
Inside the forest.
In the open
field.

3. Artist image
In our music video the character will have different
costumes and props in different locations. For example,
when filming in the forest, the character will be wearing
a long white flowing dress, giving off a ghost like effect.
She will also be wearing a mask which covers the
majority of her face. More over her hair will be tied
back in a plait with flowers intertwined in her hair. She
will have different props, such as a flare, lanterns.
When filming in the black box studio, the character
will be wearing a black lace top and black leggings.
Her hair will be down and she will have simple make
up (e.g. mascara, eyeliner, lip gloss).The only prop
she will be using is glitter.

4. Characters
In our music video there will be two characters present played
by the same actress. She is a teenage female who will be playing
the role of the artist singing the song and a mysterious woman
dancing in the forest.

5. Lighting & Colour
When filming the the black box studio the lighting will be low key,
either with a white background with fairy lights and a spotlight, or a
black background with coloured gel lights.
There will be a natural lighting in the forest with shadows from the trees.
We will be filming at around 3pm when the sun is slowly starting to set, as
we don’t want the lighting to be too high key.
