With our ever increasing capacity in our world, Mobile Technology seems to
be at the fore-front. It is very hard to believe that this technology didn’t even
exist 100 years ago, now it is the most used technology in our society today.
In the near future, there will be more mobile phones than there are people in
the world. Almost the entire population will have a mobile phone in their
hands.
With this in mind, we will explore the future of Mobile Technology, with a
brief history of the past, and the possibilities that lie ahead. In terms of
mobile technology:

THE FUTURE IS NOW
DJ
Mobile Technology
An electronic tele-communications device, often referred to as a cellular
phone or cellphone. Mobile phones connect to a wireless communications
network through radio wave or satellite transmissions. Most mobile phones
provide voice communications, Short Message Service (SMS), Multimedia
Message Service (MMS), games, cameras, video players, navigational systems,
and also provide Internet services such as Web browsing and e-mail.
They can be used over a wide area without a physical connection to a
network.

Sizes

Past/Present/Future - Sizes and Types
http://www.planyscloud.com/mobile-fragmentation/

Mobile phones started off large.
Then went to a smaller hand-held device.
Recently, larger units have become popular again.
It seems completely dependent on the user.
Some want it as small as possible to fit into their pocket.
Others want large screens and multi-functionality.
The future is whatever size you want.

A new mobile generation has appeared approximately every 10th year.
1G was introduced in 1981.
2G system started to roll out in 1992.
3G system first appeared in 2001.
4G systems fully compliant in 2012.

Next in line - 5G - 5th generation mobile networks.
5G is also referred to as beyond 2020 mobile communications technologies.
5G does not describe any particular specification in any official document.
Possible new features - New data coding - Efficient support of machine-type
devices - One unified global standard - Real wireless world with no more
limitation with access and zone issues - User centric network concept instead of
operator-initiated - World-wide wireless web (WWWW)
DJ

New mobile generations assigned new frequency bands and wider spectral
bandwidth per frequency channel.
(1G up to 30 kHz, 2G up to 200 kHz, 3G up to 20 MHz, and 4G up to
100 MHz).
What about 5G?
Skeptics argue that there is little room for larger channel bandwidths and
new frequency bands suitable for land-mobile radio.

Bluetooth
Bluetooth has arrived – it’s been around forever, but up to now it’s been no
good. Bluetooth LE (also called Bluetooth Smart) changes everything.
Connections, pairing, device management will finally work 100% of the time.
There will truly be a radio in everything around us and it’s going to enable
incredible experiences in mobile.

Entry-level smartphones come between 512MB and 2GB of internal storage,
with high-end models ranging between 8GB (the iPhone 3G, the Palm Pre),
16GB (the Nokia N96), and 32GB (the iPhone 3GS).
With the sizes of phones increasing and the alarming rate of new technology,
storage capacity will increase by many GB, up to 500 GB in the near future.
People want everything wherever they go; the mobile community.

DJ
Has become very important in mobile computing as it relates to the security of
personal information on smartphones. Attacks can come from many sources.
SMS – MMS – GSM – Wi-fi – Bluetooth – Web browser – Operating System
The first layer of security within a smartphone is the operating system.
After the operating system security, there is a layer of security software.
Anti-virus is also a good option.
Security is constantly being upgraded as new threats occur almost daily.

What is Location Based Advertising?
This mobile advertising is used to pinpoint consumers
location and provide them with specific advertisements
that relate to their location.
There are two factors for Location Based Advertising
1) Push Factor

2) Pull Factor

• Target consumers with advertisements
until they don’t want the ads
• Determine what ads and promotional
material received
• Advertisers respect users choices
• Users want specific information
• Locate with certain key words
How do the Companies Advertise these Services?
Using Push Factor:
•
•
•

Users must enter personal information (name, phone number,
other related information)
Company sends a text message for confirmation and submission
Company then provides users with geographically based offers
Example of a Push Factor:
A woman waiting for a bus may start getting notifications from local
fast-food restaurants in the area. She may be very health oriented,
which means she would have to submit information about herself to
the company if she wants useful promotional material
How do the Companies Advertise these Services?
Using Pull Factor
•
•

Companies like go2 Media
Aggregate local listings from Yellow Page companies, local
directories, and group discount business
Example of a Pull factor:
A young male meeting her friends at a
local Chinese restaurant and being able
to locate the restaurant from her phone
and viewing their menu.
How Location Based Advertising relates to Power
•
•
•

Ability to go somewhere
Capacity to act in a certain way
To direct or influence the behaviours in others and events
Divided into three types
•
•
•

Messaging
Display
Search product placement
•

How the Future affects us positively

•

Finding a location on maps
Being aware of local hot spots
Running errands becomes easier
Personalize your phone to meet your needs
Disarm any useless information given

As you have read about the future of Mobile Technology, we can only wonder
what may come next. Almost everyone has a mobile device in their hands.
People everywhere are trying to make the next big app, the cool design, the
fastest technology. With mobile being on the fore-front of people’s minds and
one of the biggest markets today, we anticipate an alarming rate of inventions
and technologies to come in the near days ahead.
The possibilities are endless. There is a current patent for a tattoo device
linking to your mobile; what’s next, implantable devices? I’m sure we’ll find
out soon, as technology is taking over the world as we know it. We are now
totally reliable on technology, especially Mobile Technology.
WE ARE THE MOBILE GENERATION

  • 1. David Jackman – Brandon Panday – Alice Gladkowski http://www.smac.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Smartening-Businesses-with-Mobile-TechnologyDJ through-Tablets-and-Smartphones.jpg
  • 2. With our ever increasing capacity in our world, Mobile Technology seems to be at the fore-front. It is very hard to believe that this technology didn’t even exist 100 years ago, now it is the most used technology in our society today. In the near future, there will be more mobile phones than there are people in the world. Almost the entire population will have a mobile phone in their hands. With this in mind, we will explore the future of Mobile Technology, with a brief history of the past, and the possibilities that lie ahead. In terms of mobile technology: THE FUTURE IS NOW DJ
  • 3. Mobile Technology An electronic tele-communications device, often referred to as a cellular phone or cellphone. Mobile phones connect to a wireless communications network through radio wave or satellite transmissions. Most mobile phones provide voice communications, Short Message Service (SMS), Multimedia Message Service (MMS), games, cameras, video players, navigational systems, and also provide Internet services such as Web browsing and e-mail. They can be used over a wide area without a physical connection to a network. DJ

  • 9. Sizes Past/Present/Future - Sizes and Types http://www.planyscloud.com/mobile-fragmentation/ Mobile phones started off large. Then went to a smaller hand-held device. Recently, larger units have become popular again. It seems completely dependent on the user. Some want it as small as possible to fit into their pocket. Others want large screens and multi-functionality. The future is whatever size you want. DJ

What about 5G? Skeptics argue that there is little room for larger channel bandwidths and new frequency bands suitable for land-mobile radio. http://blog.dialaphone.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/4g%20speed%20graph.gif DJ

  • 28. How do the Companies Advertise these Services? Using Push Factor: • • • Users must enter personal information (name, phone number, other related information) Company sends a text message for confirmation and submission Company then provides users with geographically based offers
  • 29. Example of a Push Factor: A woman waiting for a bus may start getting notifications from local fast-food restaurants in the area. She may be very health oriented, which means she would have to submit information about herself to the company if she wants useful promotional material
  • 30. How do the Companies Advertise these Services? Using Pull Factor • • Companies like go2 Media Aggregate local listings from Yellow Page companies, local directories, and group discount business
  • 31. Example of a Pull factor: A young male meeting her friends at a local Chinese restaurant and being able to locate the restaurant from her phone and viewing their menu.
  • 32. How Location Based Advertising relates to Power • • • Ability to go somewhere Capacity to act in a certain way To direct or influence the behaviours in others and events
  • 33. Divided into three types • • • Messaging Display Search product placement
  • 34. • How the Future affects us positively • Finding a location on maps Being aware of local hot spots Running errands becomes easier Personalize your phone to meet your needs Disarm any useless information given • • • •

Most career opportunities will be relying on the education people have with science and technology. These careers are already starting to be invented
  • 37. Futuristic careers with mobile devices • Corporate disorganizer • • Crowdfunding specialist • • Promoting ideas for maximum funding 3D printing handyman • • Shuffling company hierarchy's Offers to do all the repairs Digital death manager • Creates, manages and eliminates online presence
  • 38. Eliminations of present careers • • • • Technology revolutions is quickly replacing peoples jobs with machinery More than 800 million humans are unemployed Job assignments have shrunk Highest level of unemployment since the great depression
  • 39. Which jobs will be eliminated • • • Farmers Factory workers Service workers
  • 40. Video- Preparing for the Future Job Market https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFeqnK3Z6BM
  • 41. Job market affected or unaffected? Affected • • • • Powerful market driven careers are rapidly moving the economy in another direction Booming global commerce Millions of skeptical workers Low paying, and usually temporary
