Cycle Rally for Environmental Awareness
A cycle rally event was held on 08.01.2022.
The event was a part of a week long program
(6 Jan – 12 Jan’22) and was organized by
Vidyabhawan Society, Udaipur in
collaboration with many institutions and
organizations. UCCI was among one of the
partners.
15 students from Vidyabhawan polytechnic
and 10 students from B.N. Public school
participated in the event along with Dr.
Aparna Sharma (Associate Dean B.N.
University), Dr. Seema Naruka (Principal
B.N. Public School), Mr. Nitin Sanadhya
(HOD, Electrical Vidyabhawan Polytechnic)
and 3 other staff members. The students
arrived UCCI, riding bicycles from their
respective institutions.
Dr. Sakshi Jain, Executive Officer, UIWM&RC
briefed them about UCCI/UIWM&RC’s efforts
towards the environment including the
Hazardous Waste Management Site at Gudli,
Development of Environment Park etc. and
their individual responsibilities towards
environment in general.

One day Workshop
A Workshop on Management of Effluent, Air
Pollution & Solid Waste from MSME :
Environmental Clearance and Statutory
Compliances related Issues, Challenges &
Opportunities. Way forward towards
sustainable approaches aiming Zero Liquid
Discharge (ZLD) was held on Friday, December
3, 2021.
The event focused on the challenges faced by
the small and medium scale industries
concerning effluent management.
The issues related to environmental clearance
and statutory compliances were also discussed.
The sessions were interactive and were
conducted by our eminent speakers viz.

The event received participation from around 31 industries with 50 participants. The
participating industries were majorly pharmaceutical and chemical based while others
included textile, automation, marble and minerals.
The event was successful as the participants received valuable information and shared
their concerns with the speakers while they advised the best possible solutions.

Seminar on Single Use Plastics and E - waste
A Seminar on Alternatives and Legal Framework
in India on Plastics and E -Waste Management A
Road Map Towards Sustainable Future was held
on Monday, March 7, 2022. The event called
upon the electronic and plastic value chain
stakeholders to engage and unite in
“Accelerating solutions to reduce plastic and
electronic waste” by exploring policies,
partnerships, innovative technologies, and
financing that help address present challenges
and mitigate the potential impacts of future
disruptive events.
We were honoured to have Sh. Tarachand
Meena ji as the esteemed Chief Guest for
the event. He also encouraged the
contributors of the Plantation Campaign
2021 by presenting certificates and plants
to them.
The event received participation from
around 30 industries with 55 participants.
The participating industrial representatives
being interactive were looking to reduce the
environmental impacts of plastics and e
waste in their supply chain.

The technical sessions of the seminar were
interactive and were conducted by our
eminent speakers viz. -
1. Mr. Vinay Katta, Regional Officer,
RSPCB, Udaipur - He along with Ms. Payal
Pancholi, Scientific Officer at PCB, spoke
about Statutory Requirements and
Regulatory Framework in plastic and
electronic waste.
2. Mr. Prabhjot Sodhi, Senior Program
Director,Circular Economy at Centre for
Environment Education - He conducted a
session on Plastic Waste Management:
Legal Framework and Eco friendly
Alternatives.
3. Mr. Kapil Kumar, Senior Specialist, Karo
Sambhav, Gurgaon. He talked about The
Global E- Waste Management Scenario:
Benefits of Recycling.

CSR Activities done by Ramky
The details of the CSR activities done by Ramky in this financial year so far are as under
RO PLANT FOR DRINKING WATER
Construction of Building
regarding RO plant meant
for Drinking Water for
general public in Debari
Village was done. A total
expenditure of Rs.
11,99,000 was made in this
regard. This plants caters
approximately 600 people
of the Debari village and
nearby areas.
REPAIRING OF SCHOOL CLASS ROOMS
A sum of Rs 74,500 was spent on repairing school classrooms for children of Government
Girls School, Gudli. Around 300 students were benefited by the same.

PLANTATION DRIVE
The plantation drive
programme started from June,
5th
2021 at the HWM site and
nearby villages /panchayat
viz. Gudli, Zinc panchayat,
Debari, Rebariyo ki dhani etc.
Approximately 700 plants have
been planted in various nearby
villages and 300 plants are
planned to be planted at the
waste management site after
the completion of the
expansion work.

DISTRIBUTION OF BIODEGRADABLE BAGS
Distribution of Bio degradable bags was done for
medicinal plants under "ghar ghar aushadhi yojana",
and it was organized in association with the forest
department. A total expenditure of Rs 4,96,000
has been made under this head.
CONSTRUCTION OF WASHROOMS
Construction of Toilet/Washrooms for School Children has been done in Govt. Girls
School Gudli and an expenditure of Rs 1,76,500 has been made under this head.

CONSTRUCTION OF COMMUNITY HALL CUM ANGANWADI CENTRE
Construction of Community hall cum Anganwadi
centre is under progress in Rebariyon ki dhani,
Gudli panchayat. Expected tentative expenditure
for the same is around Rs. 7,70,000.

About Us
Udaipur Industrial Waste Management & Research Center (UIWM&RC) is a Trust
constituted by Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) in 2002 under the
Chairmanship of District Collector, Udaipur. To ensure the compliance of Hazardous
Waste (Management & Handling) Rules 1989 and subsequent amendments, it was felt
necessary to develop Common Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility (CTSDF) for the
disposal of hazardous waste, generated by the various industries in the State. The major
objective of formation of this trust is for the development and management of such a
Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility in the Gudli, Rajasthan.
Today the UIWM&RC (the Trust) along with significant efforts of UCCI (the Promoter) and
Ramky Enviro Engineers Pvt. Ltd. (the operator) is successfully managing the above
mentioned Facility on Built, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis for the purpose of
scientific management of Hazardous Waste and to provide for a fully integrated system
to serve for collection, transportation, treatment and disposal of hazardous waste
generated by the registered/to be registered member industries with the Promoter in
accordance with the provisions of statutory rules and as per the directions of the various
regulatory authorities of the State / Central Government or Pollution Control Board etc.
