1) The study evaluated the effectiveness of using e-portfolios in an online course by examining students' experiences submitting assignments, receiving peer feedback, and exploring other students' portfolios. 2) The e-portfolios were found to be effective for submitting assignments but not for exchanging peer feedback. The homepage design of the portfolios was also not attractive. 3) Most students had a positive attitude towards using e-portfolios and hoped to use them again due to their flexibility. However, some students faced difficulties uploading assignments and were not able to explore other portfolios or receive instructor feedback.

Post secondary institutions are highly autonomous. Attempts to create services that connect and network educators together across institutions run up against established beliefs that the needs of educators can be met within the institution and do not require collaboration. Collaboration is often viewed as a loss of autonomy and as sharing institutional or faculty proprietary knowledge with a competitor. This presentation is part of a panel discussion exploring how to mitigate the tensions between autonomy and collaboration when building collaborative system services for educators.

Academic Integrity is an issue that affects us all. DCU is a partner in an Erasmus plus funded project led by Ilia State University in Georgia. The purpose of this project is to investigate the whole area of academic integrity and to investigate ways to address the challenge of this very relevant topic. The SYNERGY Induction to Pedagogy programme was created by project partners, with the aim of helping micro-enterprise owners using the SYNERGY Exchange platform, to engage in peer-to-peer learning opportunities. This training programme comprises six modules and is delivered over 5 hours through a series of video lectures and PowerPoints which have been written, developed and recorded by project partners. These modules provide micro-enterprise owners with a sound understanding of the basics in relation to e-didactics, quality criteria of peer-learning, evaluation of online learning resources and online learning environments, producing quality learning resources for peers and other knowledge that has helped them to become competent and confident online peer-educators. This module is entitled ‘Evaluation of the Environment’ and provides content which relates to self and peer assessments, some challenges of peer-learning in online environments and quality criteria in peer learning. These slides are available in English, Finnish, German, Greek, Italian and Romanian.
