Theorist Propp: Narrative structure
From Propps theory there are 7 We will be following the aspects of a linear
main characters, and from those 7 narrative using the 5 stage narrative. However
we used the Villain/ Antagonist we have subverted the ending by leaving the

False Hero which is the boy called the resolution, will impact our audience to feel
harry. However the false hero does suspense of what may happen after.
not live up to the traditional concept
of a false hero.
He is not a hero because lies and he
is deceitful and his complication
hinders his success.

                                            Background to
                                            our final idea

Hermione Wolfgang. The use of her surname gives a
reference to the wolf. Identifying to the audience that Message

The boy Harry is similiar to the fable as he lies three fable, that you should not tell lies because they are
times but as the narrative develops he tells the truth harmful and the clique phrase about karma; what goes
about the dangers of the villain but nobody believes around comes around.

                                                           faced with bullies.
5 STAGE NARRATIVE

• Exposition:
Split screen of the boy Harry and the girl Hermione getting ready in the morning and leaving their house
     and getting on public transport
• Development:
At college
Everyone rushes into the classroom, then the boys and harry talk briefly then Hermione comes in and the
focus is on her and then she goes and sits next to harry. Then she introduces herself as the new girl.
Then harry introduces himself to her however she does not really remake his introduction.
• Complication:
On the way out of class he approaches her trying to ask her out but she rejects him and embarrasses him.
Then he goes to speak to his friend talking about how he embarrassed Hermione which she over
hears. All of sudden as he walks down the corridor to he next lesson and then the lights turn off and
the Hermione goes past him but does not realise only seeing a glimpse of her in the dark.
• Climax:
On the way home he tells his friend about the Hermione continuously lying saying she is weird and crazy
and he embarrassed her. Harry then decides to take a short cut and walk through the woods when
Hermione gets revenge on harry and assault .
CHANGES WE MADE TO THE NARRATIVE
• We made changes to the narrative because as a group we felt that the narrative was too
complicated, and decide that we would make the story more simple to keep the audience in suspense
with also the element of horror being illustrated near the ending instead of all the way through.

Exposition:
Split screen of the boy Harry and the girl Hermione getting ready in the morning and leaving their house
     and getting on public transport
Adaptation: Firstly harry will be getting ready and leaving his house and shown getting on public
transport, but just before he gets on the bus he barges someone for no reason.
Development:
At college
everyone rushes into the classroom, then the boys and harry talk briefly then Hermione comes in and the
focus is on her and then she goes and sits next to harry. Then she introduces herself as the new girl.
Then harry introduces himself to her however she does not really remake his introduction.
Adaptation: As everyone rushes into the classroom then harry strolls into the classroom late, lying about
why he is late and then he sits down and the teacher asks him for the homework and he takes
someone else's homework . Then Hermione walks in .... (the rest of the development is the same)
CONT. THE CHANGES OF THE NARRATIVE
Complication:
On the way out of class he approaches her trying to ask her out but she rejects him and
embarrasses him. Then he goes to speak to his friend talking about how he embarrassed
Hermione which she over hears. All of sudden as he walks down the corridor to he next
lesson and then the lights turn off and the Hermione goes past him but does not realise
only seeing a glimpse of her in the dark.
Adaptation: The complication stays the same except we decide to take out the part when
Harry is walking down the corridor and then the lights turn of and he sees a glimpse of her
in the dark. Also when he gets in embarrassed he pushes some boys around cause they
   laugh at him.
The climax is staying the same however we decided to have a resolution instead of leaving it
    at the climax.
Resolution:
After the assault is committed we are left thinking whether Harry is alive. Then the next day
we just see a crime scene.
