Persuasive Essay
"Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be
graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr.
Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously
groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and
about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose
and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already
rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death
penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly
making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line.
I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a
tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk.
Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such
desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle
was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward
to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked
everyone the age old question: "Do you like

Persuasive Speech Against War Essay
Imagine a world where honesty was the only option. People could not lie if they wanted to. The
concept of a lie is inconceivable to the inhabitants of the this made up world. Politicians are as
see–through as glass, and criminals convict themselves within seconds. Now place yourself in this
world, with the knowledge and understanding of deception. You are an Ambassador of a merited
nation, and your country has declared war on a neighboring commonwealth. The citizens of this
foreign state are apparently not so different from the citizens in your community, yet their
government is unfairly claiming the land of less protected villages on the border of your nation and
theirs. Your citizens don't see the importance of declaring war over a...show more content...
Any society that shares a common knowledge and universal interest make use of propaganda. Look
at social media for example. Arguably, social networks are the perfect environment for
propaganda to thrive. There are millions of online people pushing their own opinions and
agendas. An easy example of modern propaganda is any caricature of President Trump shown as
an overweight, orange slob. While this is how some view Trump, it is biased. On the other side
of that, Trump is well practiced in his constant criticism of the media spouting about, "fake news."
Both the media and Trump push their biased through propaganda. In his WW2 fiction novel, The
Moon Is Down John Steinbeck writes about a small, peaceable town that is invaded by soldiers,
and the conflict that ensues due to the unwanted presence of a foreign enemy. The book starts out
with a small battalion of soldiers invading a practically defenseless town. Here we are introduced
to two principal characters: Mayor Orden and Colonel Lanser. Mayor Orden inhabits the elected
leader of the small coal mining town. He is a conflicted yet honest leader of his people who gives
the first impression of hopelessness in the face of adversity. Colonel Lanser resides as the leader of
the soldiers. Given his position of power, he's very understanding. He has a desire to get along with
the people of the small town rather than use force to control them. Steinbeck goes into depth on the
characteristics of the invading soldiers,

Persuasive Essay On Change In Life
Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to
live life correctly or to the greatest ability because each individual has a different perception of it.
Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the
day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most
fulfilling things a person can do. Whether a life change is occurring because one wants to be
healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first. Although there are
different ways to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful
lifestyle change and shift. The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new
lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it,
giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the
successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even
acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle
change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs
to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being
aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the
necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission
of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether
the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep
schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the
decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in
class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend
it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even
more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time

Persuasive Essay On Stop Bullying
STOP Bullying
I think that bullying needs to stop, because bullying hurts people's feelings and sometimes even end
a life. Here is a story about what happen to me.
So one day i'm at school in FACS, I'm working on my pj pants that we have to make. One of my
friends asked for help, so I walk over to her at her sewing machine. She needed help on her pants
and what to do. As I'm helping my friend, a girl, lets say her name is Vanessa, she was sitting by
my friend Skyler, Vanessa said "eww go away' , I told her I wasn't going to do what she told me.
Vanessa got mad and stood up, she walks over to me and said a lot of random stuff. I kept telling
her to stop telling me what do. Then the teacher came over and asked "What was happening" ,and
that was it. I felt scared when I was standing up to her, but at the same time I felt brave and proud of
myself for standing up.
When I was little I thought that bullying wasn't that bad, but then I saw someone getting bullied, it
was horrible. Bullying is awful and you should never do it. I learned to be brave and stand up and
the bully might stop. But at the same time the bully might even do more bad things. That's when you
really need to tell an adult.
Words hurt, I don't care if you're joking. I don't care if you didn't mean it. I don't care if someone
else dared you to, I don't care if you felt peer pressured into it. I don't care if you think it makes
you look cool......... It's mean. Being a bully is not cool, it's not funny. Tearing someone else
down to make yourself feel better is a cowardly act. Be an adult use manners and be nice. I rather
be a little nobody, than to be an evil somebody. Bullying is something that no one should ever
have to experience. " Words scar, rumors destroy, and Bullies kill". 160,000 kids skip school every
day to avoid being bullied. How would you feel every time you go to school someone's looking at
you weird, calling you a loser. Don't listen to people who tell you what to do. Listen to people
who encourage you to do what you know in your heart is right. When are people going to realize
words kill. Suicide isn't cowardly. Want to know what's cowardly? Treating someone so bad, they
want to end their life.
"The boy you punched in the hall today,

Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art
Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and
communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's
views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border
this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from
the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying
definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent.
Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene,
from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic
interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as
a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more
consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared
to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely
range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If
an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with
it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill
Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where
an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. Such censorship is
easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or
racial notions. But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as
simple.
A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San
Leandro, here in the bay area. This statue depicts a nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric,
and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know
that she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure,

Persuasive Essay On Suicide
In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness,
love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it
should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of
one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face
of life–threatening physical illness, significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of
one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the
rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This
topic should interest you too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be
subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the
third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second
leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a
someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss
of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately
494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted injuries. The World Health Organization
(WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second
leading cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide
more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use
more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in
America, society must ask what can be done to save lives.
The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it
causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to
blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you,
you are wrong. When you think

Persuasive Essay On Education Reform
Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their
purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say
what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge
students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many
cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released"
(Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered.
Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the
Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell
teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms
also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people
believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others
believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational
reforms are yet to be perfected.
One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the
country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states
should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are

Persuasive Speech On Domestic Violence
ONE STEP TOWARDS JUSTICE:
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Right now, right at this very instant, a silent war all across the nation is being waged. A violation of
humanity, a crime that is least prosecuted, and a great threat endangering the lives of thousands of
women and children daily. Of course, I am talking about harsh reality of domestic violence. We live
in a time where domestic violence is kept a taboo subject, a shameful secret that shouldn't be let out.
We know it's happening, and even hear or see the events. But who's taking action?
I can stand here and give you a list of statistics about this issue, but is that all it is? A statistic?
Sadly enough, people look at this endless crime as just a figure or percentage, we're shocked at first
but nothing more. So today, I am taking the first step, a step towards justice, a step to end the
struggle, and a step to save our nation.
And yes, I'm not anyone special, I don't study the topic, nor am I a survivor of domestic violence
myself. But I'm here to tell a story. I'm here to make a change. And I'm here to encourage all of you
to do the same.
I'm going to share an experience I had. Something that I've regretted and hated myself for since,
knowing that help could've been sought earlier. A few years back, I was catching up with a family
member and noticed a faint bruise on her face. Naturally, I asked her what had happened but she
just brushed it off, told me it was nothing but a sport injury. Weeks progressed, and the bruises
became worse and worse, but I stop questioning. To me, she still seemed the happy go–lucky girl I
knew and loved, the only difference were these markings. But let me tell you, sometimes the people
who seem happiest, are actually hurting the most. And this was exactly the case. Flashforward a few
months, and her partner was being trialled and charged under the case of domestic abuse.
Although there were so many signs, my ignorance restrained me from helping her help herself.
Needless to say, I was absolutely disgusted. And to this day, I still can't even begin the fathom how
anyone could possibly put their hands on someone they loved. To purposely harm their significant
other and act like everything is fine. And to the victims who have to live

How to End a Relationship... Essay
Relationships is a step that two people take since they connected in a romantic way. For some, it
might seem far away, but others can't wait for it to end. Some signs to know you're on a failed
relationship could be lack of respect, no time for each other, can't find common ground, tired of
the same routine and bickering and fighting. Those were some signs that some can be solved but
mostly is of a failed relationship. Ending a relationship isn't as simple as it looks, since there was
love or some wouldn't admit it but at least they cared for each other. One of the reasons you might
be reading this is because you want some guidance or advice, and that's why we recommend you
keep reading.

Try not to be cruel, be honest, don't say things that might confuse or hurt like bringing back the
past or the reasons why you want to end it. Be prepared for any reaction, the dumped can react
since he or she didn't see it coming. You should try to be comforting but not too attach but also
don't just storm out of there. For both of you to have a chance to move on, you should avoid each
other and if you have each other's thing try to sort it out so you both won't have an argument. The
best lesson of a failed relationship is to learn from it and don't let it repeat it. Also know when to
walk away, why be bickering about a lost cause. After the break up don't try to stay friends, you
wanted to end it for a reason so why go back when you can keep moving forward. Take some time
for yourself since not everyone understands that the one who broke up is also in pain as the one
who was dumped. Because you're the one taking "the bullet" and it's true since you might feel guilt
and even though you want to go and party to try to feel alive and free of everything, it's better to go
to places you feel comfortable.
Just because you got off the horse doesn't mean you need to get back up after the break up. Since
both of you took time apart it helps with the healing process. Don't try to start dating quickly,
remember "if it's meant to be, it's meant to be". Now that you're single you should change things
like a new look or set new goals and be happy. Don't be stuck in the past

Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection
Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate
actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay
needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed,
I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as
well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the
weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these
suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive
essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay
would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not
being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that
wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be
persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the
experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your
readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing
your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument
was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why
I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this
helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would
have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but
one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more
clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my
clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a
persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers
can have a full understanding of your

Ending a relationship is never an easy thing to do, nor is it an easy situation to be in. When we
realize that some relationships, (whether it's a relationship with a friend or a partner) is not working
out in our favor, this is the time for our relationship to come to a close. To end a relationship we
need to do so with no regrets and no hesitation. We need to end this connection without hate for one
another.
Often times when we try to end a relationship, we end up causing more damage than what we mean
to. We often cause pain of conflict in the other person's lives even though we don't intend to do so.
This can sometimes never be avoided but here are some easy steps to start out with ending a
relationship in a more simpler and better way.
When ending a relationship you want to start by being alone, away from distractions and in a quiet
place. This will give the situation more clarity and be taken more seriously. After doing so you want
to start calmly, but also proudly. Don't...show more content...
First, we should be calm, don't panic. Also don't hesitate to state what you are feeling but also don't
be too harsh. Remember, this is going to be a hard accepting process for them. Secondly, don't
procrastinate on opening up to the other person, this will only cause more pain to occur in the end.
Third, just be honest with them, they will understand the situation a lot more if you explain your
point of view. This will also help them with the coping process. Lastly, Have compassion for the
other person as they are going through this time in their life, you never know what they may be
thinking or feeling at this time.
Now you have what it takes to end a relationship of your own. Remember all the steps and also don't
forget that the other person is only human, they have feelings too. When ending a relationship you
must be brave, have compassion, be proud and lastly, reassure yourself why you are doing this, what

Persuasive Essay About My Favorite Movie
For as long as I can remember the Adventures of the Wilderness Family has been my favorite
movie. I was fascinated by how close to nature Pat, Skip, Jenny, and Toby were and particularly
how close to wildlife they were. Every time I watched that movie I was just in awe of how
beautiful it was and how they could sustain themselves and persevere through anything including
multiple animal attacks. When I was a kid I always imagined running free in a field filled with
flowers and being so close to nature and feeling free to explore my own little world. I have
watched this movie countless times and have purposely never examined any faults the movie might
have because I enjoyed it exactly the way it was. I never looked at it and actually saw...show more

Whenever a character got attacked they seemed to take it really lightly, when realistically that is
life–threatening. Childhood me really appreciated this movie for the kind of life I hoped to live
when I got older. As a kid I would spend a lot of time by the pond outside my dad's house and
exploring the woods and backyard with my brothers and my Dad and watching this movie made
me look toward the possibility of one day living a life that ultimately felt free from my parents'
issues and social conflicts and allowed me to find the heart and soul of who I am and depend on
myself as I felt in a way I always had. As a kid I felt like the odd duck out sometimes and felt
trapped between my parents as I still do today, so moving to a place like Gunnison National
Forest seemed like the ultimate sense of freedom to me. I wasn't looking for a place where I felt
like I was free from all of the issues I had to deal with growing up and I could thrive as an
individual without having to worry about having the coolest new things that my elementary peers
had before it was uncool or eventually about having the latest Apple products or designer handbags.
A lesson this movie really pushes to heart on its viewers is the importance of reducing materialistic
values. During the time that this movie was produced America started becoming more urban and
building new cities. The start of the movie takes

Deduction Research Papers
Every ninety–eight seconds an American is sexually assaulted; by the end of this paper, multiple
people will have been hurt. Someone may find themselves asking why these things happen, and
how can they stop it? The problem exists deep within society, and societal change can take a
lifetime if not multiple lifetimes. That means this nation will have to take on every single
instance of these vile crimes one at a time, which is no small feat considering it occurs in the
millions in this country alone. It's a hard subject to understand as both a man, and a subject I can
only see from the outside in. To come up with a solution to end the problem is something far
beyond the reach of my skills in deduction and ability to create tools to prevent these things from
happening. That means I can only deliver these three points as to how we should react. Firstly,
everyone needs to listen, then we must teach men, and finally create or adapt a system for proper
legal recourse. This battle will be long, but one should be hopeful because humankind's
compassion is inherent, born with the capacity to love exponentially, it is only a problem when we
remove that from the equation. To begin, victims need to be heard, and it really is as simple as that.
Tens of thousands or maybe even more victims go without ever speaking out against their
perpetrators and the actions they commit. This is more than likely because women are scared of
what could happen to them if they share, as well as the

Kids health states, "Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for people from 15 to 24 years old.
On a average, 1 person commits suicide every 16.2 minutes. That one suicide could affect other

or peer pressure(bullying). Suicide is one of the highest causes of death because so many think that
is a way to get out of certain things or when they feel like they should just give up. Suicide could
be prevented if teens had better peers, therapy if needed, more of a supporter that shows they care,

Many people assume that there are only one type of suicide but there are four. Egoistic Suicide
(relates to the person being alone or an outsider, somebody with low interactions with others),
Altruistic Suicide (A social group involvement), Anomic Suicide (carried out during periods of
considerable stress and frustration), and Fatalistic Suicide (Where there is extreme rule in order
or high expectations set upon a person or people in which lead them to a sense of no self or
individuality). All totally different subjects of suicides. Teenagers don't just commit suicide
because they think it's all fun and games but they do it because they are feeling helpless or
hopeless. They don't have anybody that can really understand what is going on in their heads or
how they are truly feeling, most people that have friends like this try and play the role like they
know but it just makes it even harder to handle the situation. Certain peer groups can also find a
way to a person and cause them to lose hope in things they once cared for and make them want to

Persuasive Essay About Science
Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They
all have a dream. We were always asked the question, "What do you want to be when you grow
up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating
through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town
from disastrous flames. These were normally the first ones. Kids would always argue over who
would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and
Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I
knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My mom has always worked in the medical field, so
as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she
would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due
to a horrific car accident. It all kept me entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what
subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so many options.
You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will continue to
grow as new fields are developed. There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is
always that one moment or event that caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This feeling

Writing A Persuasive Essay
It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good
essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a
passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I
have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with
an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of
school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of
passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First
things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content...

Everybody at some point in their life has wanted to make a change, hopefully for the better. For

everyone on this earth has a given amount of time everyday, no one can use the excuse that they don't

easily than before and just wait until it surpases. It gets to the point where they've been dealing with
so much numbing pain that they, themselves, start to contemplate the same thoughts their friend was
thinking years back. They have the mindset that, they'll be reunited with their best friend if they were
to meet the same fate. Eventually, they will, but they're thinking about meeting that fate sooner

created is so coarse and rugged that it'll be difficult to fix those problems. First off, the individual

Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been
evolving, there are changes that have made schooling harder, and some changes that have made
schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and their
own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make
learning more convenient, or are they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more
problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the reason,
that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research.
During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade
twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads. Many students, throughout the long school
days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they
just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their
fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your
phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of
the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience
to them.
Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my

Persuasive Essay On How To Change The World
We all need to start today and change one thing that will make a difference in this world. We all
have a burning desire and drive to change the world or at least change ourselves. To make a
difference to our kids, our family, our community, and our world. If you think you can change the
world, you might. If you think you can't change the world, you won't.
United States is a country that has developed rather quickly in all areas. Over the years it has
gained power, fought for power, and we are still trying to stay on the cutting edge in all areas. We
are not afraid to make changes, break tradition and reform what doesn't work. It is important that
the United States is willing to make changes for themselves and their descendants. Changing is
never easy, but it is worth it. More and more these day's people become more easily offended
about change and what is happening. Millennials am I right? There is a famous saying that I
learned from my parents. They said, "If you want change in your life start today and make one
change." Change how you get dressed, your route to work, and try out a new gas station. Mix things
up with your morning routine. Get up an hour earlier, and do something productive with your time.
Switch where you park at home or at work. Change your deodorant, and get a new smell going. Ride
a bike somewhere, anywhere and see something different.
This week we talked about all the changes that have taken place over the last one hundred years. The

Persuasive Essay On End To Poverty
An end to poverty During the mid–1970s economic growth had tied into the falling poverty rates. If
the United States would have upheld that compromise, then poverty would have been eradicated in
the 1980s. However, it is affecting Americans because it means longer working hours but, still are
becoming poorer and less economically secure. Drastically over the years poverty has changed and it
is not for the good either. Many people think that it will not affect them, it will later in the time.
Reasons for that is because it will continue to grow larger and larger. The goal to end poverty by
2030 now seems impossible due to the growth there is every day. The access to good schools,
healthcare, electricity, safe water and other critical services remain elusive for many people.
Especially when they are determined by seriocomic status, gender, ethnicity, and geography. (Leary,
M.K ,2016)
Many countries are developing along the poverty line over the years it has not decreased ever
sense. Having no access to resources, transportations, educations, employments, and child care
which has made it difficult for children to participate in their communities. People end up in
poverty for various of reasons but, lack of income being the big one. To provide education for
those living in poverty can help develop skills and knowledge to help improve their lives for the
better. People need to realize that there can be a change to those who have less than them. By the
benefits that are attained

How To End A Persuasive Essay

  • 1. Persuasive Essay "Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old question: "Do you like Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Speech Against War Essay Imagine a world where honesty was the only option. People could not lie if they wanted to. The concept of a lie is inconceivable to the inhabitants of the this made up world. Politicians are as see–through as glass, and criminals convict themselves within seconds. Now place yourself in this world, with the knowledge and understanding of deception. You are an Ambassador of a merited nation, and your country has declared war on a neighboring commonwealth. The citizens of this foreign state are apparently not so different from the citizens in your community, yet their government is unfairly claiming the land of less protected villages on the border of your nation and theirs. Your citizens don't see the importance of declaring war over a...show more content... Any society that shares a common knowledge and universal interest make use of propaganda. Look at social media for example. Arguably, social networks are the perfect environment for propaganda to thrive. There are millions of online people pushing their own opinions and agendas. An easy example of modern propaganda is any caricature of President Trump shown as an overweight, orange slob. While this is how some view Trump, it is biased. On the other side of that, Trump is well practiced in his constant criticism of the media spouting about, "fake news." Both the media and Trump push their biased through propaganda. In his WW2 fiction novel, The Moon Is Down John Steinbeck writes about a small, peaceable town that is invaded by soldiers, and the conflict that ensues due to the unwanted presence of a foreign enemy. The book starts out with a small battalion of soldiers invading a practically defenseless town. Here we are introduced to two principal characters: Mayor Orden and Colonel Lanser. Mayor Orden inhabits the elected leader of the small coal mining town. He is a conflicted yet honest leader of his people who gives the first impression of hopelessness in the face of adversity. Colonel Lanser resides as the leader of the soldiers. Given his position of power, he's very understanding. He has a desire to get along with the people of the small town rather than use force to control them. Steinbeck goes into depth on the characteristics of the invading soldiers, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay On Change In Life Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to live life correctly or to the greatest ability because each individual has a different perception of it. Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most fulfilling things a person can do. Whether a life change is occurring because one wants to be healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first. Although there are different ways to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful lifestyle change and shift. The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it, giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay On Stop Bullying STOP Bullying I think that bullying needs to stop, because bullying hurts people's feelings and sometimes even end a life. Here is a story about what happen to me. So one day i'm at school in FACS, I'm working on my pj pants that we have to make. One of my friends asked for help, so I walk over to her at her sewing machine. She needed help on her pants and what to do. As I'm helping my friend, a girl, lets say her name is Vanessa, she was sitting by my friend Skyler, Vanessa said "eww go away' , I told her I wasn't going to do what she told me. Vanessa got mad and stood up, she walks over to me and said a lot of random stuff. I kept telling her to stop telling me what do. Then the teacher came over and asked "What was happening" ,and that was it. I felt scared when I was standing up to her, but at the same time I felt brave and proud of myself for standing up. When I was little I thought that bullying wasn't that bad, but then I saw someone getting bullied, it was horrible. Bullying is awful and you should never do it. I learned to be brave and stand up and the bully might stop. But at the same time the bully might even do more bad things. That's when you really need to tell an adult. Words hurt, I don't care if you're joking. I don't care if you didn't mean it. I don't care if someone else dared you to, I don't care if you felt peer pressured into it. I don't care if you think it makes you look cool......... It's mean. Being a bully is not cool, it's not funny. Tearing someone else down to make yourself feel better is a cowardly act. Be an adult use manners and be nice. I rather be a little nobody, than to be an evil somebody. Bullying is something that no one should ever have to experience. " Words scar, rumors destroy, and Bullies kill". 160,000 kids skip school every day to avoid being bullied. How would you feel every time you go to school someone's looking at you weird, calling you a loser. Don't listen to people who tell you what to do. Listen to people who encourage you to do what you know in your heart is right. When are people going to realize words kill. Suicide isn't cowardly. Want to know what's cowardly? Treating someone so bad, they want to end their life. "The boy you punched in the hall today, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent. Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene, from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. Such censorship is easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or racial notions. But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as simple. A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San Leandro, here in the bay area. This statue depicts a nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric, and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know that she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On Suicide In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness, love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face of life–threatening physical illness, significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This topic should interest you too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately 494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted injuries. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in America, society must ask what can be done to save lives. The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you, you are wrong. When you think Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Education Reform Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released" (Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered. Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational reforms are yet to be perfected. One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Speech On Domestic Violence ONE STEP TOWARDS JUSTICE: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE Right now, right at this very instant, a silent war all across the nation is being waged. A violation of humanity, a crime that is least prosecuted, and a great threat endangering the lives of thousands of women and children daily. Of course, I am talking about harsh reality of domestic violence. We live in a time where domestic violence is kept a taboo subject, a shameful secret that shouldn't be let out. We know it's happening, and even hear or see the events. But who's taking action? I can stand here and give you a list of statistics about this issue, but is that all it is? A statistic? Sadly enough, people look at this endless crime as just a figure or percentage, we're shocked at first but nothing more. So today, I am taking the first step, a step towards justice, a step to end the struggle, and a step to save our nation. And yes, I'm not anyone special, I don't study the topic, nor am I a survivor of domestic violence myself. But I'm here to tell a story. I'm here to make a change. And I'm here to encourage all of you to do the same. I'm going to share an experience I had. Something that I've regretted and hated myself for since, knowing that help could've been sought earlier. A few years back, I was catching up with a family member and noticed a faint bruise on her face. Naturally, I asked her what had happened but she just brushed it off, told me it was nothing but a sport injury. Weeks progressed, and the bruises became worse and worse, but I stop questioning. To me, she still seemed the happy go–lucky girl I knew and loved, the only difference were these markings. But let me tell you, sometimes the people who seem happiest, are actually hurting the most. And this was exactly the case. Flashforward a few months, and her partner was being trialled and charged under the case of domestic abuse. Although there were so many signs, my ignorance restrained me from helping her help herself. Needless to say, I was absolutely disgusted. And to this day, I still can't even begin the fathom how anyone could possibly put their hands on someone they loved. To purposely harm their significant other and act like everything is fine. And to the victims who have to live Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Some signs to know you're on a failed relationship could be lack of respect, no time for each other, can't find common ground, tired of the same routine and bickering and fighting. Those were some signs that some can be solved but mostly is of a failed relationship. Ending a relationship isn't as simple as it looks, since there was love or some wouldn't admit it but at least they cared for each other. Try not to be cruel, be honest, don't say things that might confuse or hurt like bringing back the past or the reasons why you want to end it. Be prepared for any reaction, the dumped can react since he or she didn't see it coming. You should try to be comforting but not too attach but also don't just storm out of there. For both of you to have a chance to move on, you should avoid each other and if you have each other's thing try to sort it out so you both won't have an argument. The best lesson of a failed relationship is to learn from it and don't let it repeat it. Also know when to walk away, why be bickering about a lost cause. After the break up don't try to stay friends, you wanted to end it for a reason so why go back when you can keep moving forward. Take some time for yourself since not everyone understands that the one who broke up is also in pain as the one who was dumped. Because you're the one taking "the bullet" and it's true since you might feel guilt and even though you want to go and party to try to feel alive and free of everything, it's better to go to places you feel comfortable. Just because you got off the horse doesn't mean you need to get back up after the break up. Since both of you took time apart it helps with the healing process. • 10. Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed, I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers can have a full understanding of your Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Ending a relationship is never an easy thing to do, nor is it an easy situation to be in. When we realize that some relationships, (whether it's a relationship with a friend or a partner) is not working out in our favor, this is the time for our relationship to come to a close. To end a relationship we need to do so with no regrets and no hesitation. We need to end this connection without hate for one another. Often times when we try to end a relationship, we end up causing more damage than what we mean to. We often cause pain of conflict in the other person's lives even though we don't intend to do so. This can sometimes never be avoided but here are some easy steps to start out with ending a relationship in a more simpler and better way. When ending a relationship you want to start by being alone, away from distractions and in a quiet place. This will give the situation more clarity and be taken more seriously. After doing so you want to start calmly, but also proudly. Don't...show more content... First, we should be calm, don't panic. Secondly, don't procrastinate on opening up to the other person, this will only cause more pain to occur in the end. Third, just be honest with them, they will understand the situation a lot more if you explain your point of view. This will also help them with the coping process. Lastly, Have compassion for the other person as they are going through this time in their life, you never know what they may be thinking or feeling at this time. Now you have what it takes to end a relationship of your own. Remember all the steps and also don't forget that the other person is only human, they have feelings too. • 12. Persuasive Essay About My Favorite Movie For as long as I can remember the Adventures of the Wilderness Family has been my favorite movie. I was fascinated by how close to nature Pat, Skip, Jenny, and Toby were and particularly how close to wildlife they were. Every time I watched that movie I was just in awe of how beautiful it was and how they could sustain themselves and persevere through anything including multiple animal attacks. When I was a kid I always imagined running free in a field filled with flowers and being so close to nature and feeling free to explore my own little world. I have watched this movie countless times and have purposely never examined any faults the movie might have because I enjoyed it exactly the way it was. I never looked at it and actually saw...show more content... Whenever a character got attacked they seemed to take it really lightly, when realistically that is life–threatening. Childhood me really appreciated this movie for the kind of life I hoped to live when I got older. As a kid I would spend a lot of time by the pond outside my dad's house and exploring the woods and backyard with my brothers and my Dad and watching this movie made me look toward the possibility of one day living a life that ultimately felt free from my parents' issues and social conflicts and allowed me to find the heart and soul of who I am and depend on myself as I felt in a way I always had. As a kid I felt like the odd duck out sometimes and felt trapped between my parents as I still do today, so moving to a place like Gunnison National Forest seemed like the ultimate sense of freedom to me. I wasn't looking for a place where I felt like I was free from all of the issues I had to deal with growing up and I could thrive as an individual without having to worry about having the coolest new things that my elementary peers had before it was uncool or eventually about having the latest Apple products or designer handbags. A lesson this movie really pushes to heart on its viewers is the importance of reducing materialistic values. During the time that this movie was produced America started becoming more urban and building new cities. The start of the movie takes Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Deduction Research Papers Every ninety–eight seconds an American is sexually assaulted; by the end of this paper, multiple people will have been hurt. Someone may find themselves asking why these things happen, and how can they stop it? The problem exists deep within society, and societal change can take a lifetime if not multiple lifetimes. That means this nation will have to take on every single instance of these vile crimes one at a time, which is no small feat considering it occurs in the millions in this country alone. It's a hard subject to understand as both a man, and a subject I can only see from the outside in. To come up with a solution to end the problem is something far beyond the reach of my skills in deduction and ability to create tools to prevent these things from happening. That means I can only deliver these three points as to how we should react. Firstly, everyone needs to listen, then we must teach men, and finally create or adapt a system for proper legal recourse. This battle will be long, but one should be hopeful because humankind's compassion is inherent, born with the capacity to love exponentially, it is only a problem when we remove that from the equation. To begin, victims need to be heard, and it really is as simple as that. Tens of thousands or maybe even more victims go without ever speaking out against their perpetrators and the actions they commit. This is more than likely because women are scared of what could happen to them if they share, as well as the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

That one suicide could affect other people." Suicide takes its toll on people when it comes to certain things like depression, loneliness, or peer pressure(bullying). Suicide is one of the highest causes of death because so many think that is a way to get out of certain things or when they feel like they should just give up. Suicide could be prevented if teens had better peers, therapy if needed, more of a supporter that shows they care, and better ways to look out for warning signs. Egoistic Suicide (relates to the person being alone or an outsider, somebody with low interactions with others), Altruistic Suicide (A social group involvement), Anomic Suicide (carried out during periods of considerable stress and frustration), and Fatalistic Suicide (Where there is extreme rule in order or high expectations set upon a person or people in which lead them to a sense of no self or individuality). All totally different subjects of suicides. Teenagers don't just commit suicide because they think it's all fun and games but they do it because they are feeling helpless or hopeless. They don't have anybody that can really understand what is going on in their heads or how they are truly feeling, most people that have friends like this try and play the role like they know but it just makes it even harder to handle the situation. Certain peer groups can also find a way to a person and cause them to lose hope in things they once cared for and make them want to just give up. Peer pressure is really hard to deal with also, especially if nobody knows what is really going on because the person dealing with it doesn't speak up thinking it will go away. • 15. Persuasive Essay About Science Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They all have a dream. We were always asked the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town from disastrous flames. These were normally the first ones. Kids would always argue over who would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My mom has always worked in the medical field, so as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due to a horrific car accident. It all kept me entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so many options. You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will continue to grow as new fields are developed. There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is always that one moment or event that caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This feeling came to me in my sophomore year of high school. Walking Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Writing A Persuasive Essay It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content... I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here, this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you finally settle you know it's not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute, reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Persuasive Essay About Self Discipline Everybody at some point in their life has wanted to make a change, hopefully for the better. For most, it can take some serious self discipline to actually put these changes into full force. Here's a proposition: take the time out of the day to sit down and actually think about the outcomes of the problem, and then decide if it's worth going through the motions to make that change. Because everyone on this earth has a given amount of time everyday, no one can use the excuse that they don't have the time of day; that's bullshit. Yes, some may have a busy schedule but you have breaks throughout the day. May it be the required break they get from work, the commute from school to home, or when they're alone with their thoughts at night;...show more content... They should've known that they weren't truly alone, since the individual has been there for them always, but they really must've to think that their best friend wouldn't been with them the one time. The minute the individual found out about their friend's death, they started to crash and burn, tearing themselves apart, blaming themselves, saying that it's their fault that they couldn't save you since they didn't know. Their mental and physical state started to deplete and they've become accustomed to the numbness that has spread throughout their body. They start to eat unhealthily and just stop working out all together. Minor health problems start to invade their system, they get sick more easily than before and just wait until it surpases. It gets to the point where they've been dealing with so much numbing pain that they, themselves, start to contemplate the same thoughts their friend was thinking years back. They have the mindset that, they'll be reunited with their best friend if they were to meet the same fate. Eventually, they will, but they're thinking about meeting that fate sooner rather than later. But they don't want to really do this, they want to get better, but the rut they've created is so coarse and rugged that it'll be difficult to fix those problems. • 18. Persuasive Essay Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been evolving, there are changes that have made schooling harder, and some changes that have made schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and their own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make learning more convenient, or are they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the reason, that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research. During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads. Many students, throughout the long school days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience to them. Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my CIS comp, CIS world history, and my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Persuasive Essay On How To Change The World We all need to start today and change one thing that will make a difference in this world. We all have a burning desire and drive to change the world or at least change ourselves. To make a difference to our kids, our family, our community, and our world. If you think you can change the world, you might. If you think you can't change the world, you won't. United States is a country that has developed rather quickly in all areas. Over the years it has gained power, fought for power, and we are still trying to stay on the cutting edge in all areas. We are not afraid to make changes, break tradition and reform what doesn't work. It is important that the United States is willing to make changes for themselves and their descendants. Changing is never easy, but it is worth it. More and more these day's people become more easily offended about change and what is happening. Millennials am I right? There is a famous saying that I learned from my parents. They said, "If you want change in your life start today and make one change." Change how you get dressed, your route to work, and try out a new gas station. Mix things up with your morning routine. Get up an hour earlier, and do something productive with your time. Switch where you park at home or at work. Change your deodorant, and get a new smell going. Ride a bike somewhere, anywhere and see something different. This week we talked about all the changes that have taken place over the last one hundred years. The Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Persuasive Essay On End To Poverty An end to poverty During the mid–1970s economic growth had tied into the falling poverty rates. If the United States would have upheld that compromise, then poverty would have been eradicated in the 1980s. However, it is affecting Americans because it means longer working hours but, still are becoming poorer and less economically secure. Drastically over the years poverty has changed and it is not for the good either. Many people think that it will not affect them, it will later in the time. Reasons for that is because it will continue to grow larger and larger. The goal to end poverty by 2030 now seems impossible due to the growth there is every day. The access to good schools, healthcare, electricity, safe water and other critical services remain elusive for many people. Especially when they are determined by seriocomic status, gender, ethnicity, and geography.
