I believe that I should be awarded this scholarship because I come from a background in which
my parents did not go far with education. This has made life hard for my family and myself. My
mother is unable to work because she is dealing with multiple sicknesses and my father, who was
our main source of income, passed away. My parent both put a lot of pressure on me to get a good
education, but we lack the funds to make my dreams of becoming a doctor a reality. If I am
awarded this scholarship, I would be so grateful and it would not go to waste.

Community Scholarship Essay
A young person should strive to support their local community for various reasons. Engaging in
community service provides people with the opportunity to become active members of their
community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service and
volunteerism enables one to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those
who need it most.
Supporting the community is a way to give back, it's a learning experience, it strengthens the
community, promotes personal growth and self–esteem, it brings people together, it makes you feel
good, it's an investment to the area you work and live and most importantly it allows you to make a
difference.
I have been able to develop real–world skills that has helped me to succeed both in school and at
home. I have learned leadership, problem solving, time management, communication skills and how
to work with others. I can see firsthand that the work I have done has made a real impact in the
community.

I participated in my schools Beautification Project by cleaning up the school grounds and
surrounding area. I pulled weeds, planted flowers, laid mulch, picked up trash and painted. This
was important to me because it allowed me to give back to the area I both live and attend school. I
have baked and distributed cookies to families at the Ronald Me Donald House. I have also prepared
snack packs for families at the Ronald Me Donald House– prepared bags with pudding cups cheese
crackers, chips, granola bars and muffins. These were provided to families so that they could have
access to a snack while at the hospital with their child. I have sort/packed food at the Mid–Ohio
Food Bank, volunteered as a community meal server and donate blood regularly. I also assisted with
coordinating the blood drive at my

How Would A Scholarship Impact My Life
A $3,000 scholarship would greatly impact me and make a big difference in my life. Education
has always been extremely important in my family, and a college education is highly valued in my
community. Because of this, my parents have been planning on me going to college since before I
was born. I am so grateful for their endless support. However, moral–support alone will not help me
get into college. Since I was a child, I've always thought of college as a necessity, so I've been saving
up for years. Besides working hard in school and being strongly academic, I've also been working
since I was 12 years old to save money. My first job was babysitting, and I got CPR–certified and
registered by my city. I've been working hard my whole life to

Athletic Scholarships Essay
Athletic Scholarships
There are many good athletes in professional sports today. There are many good athletes in
college sports today also. Some of the biggest names in sports are Mark McGwire, Steve Young,
Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and so on. Now, imagine if all of those players never made it to the
pros. What would happen to professional sports? Why are they in the pros now? To make it into
professional sports you need more than just talent. You need opportunity. Collegescholarships not
only give athletes the opportunity to reach the professional ranks, but also give the chance for
many players to earn a degree in higher education. Many people dream of being a professional
athlete. Some people make it a reality, but...show more content...
After it's done baking, the final product is a delicious cake. The cake can't be complete without it
being baked. There can not be a missed step in the process. Could Mark McGwire have made it to
the pros without attending The University of Southern California(USC) on an athletic scholarship or
Michael Jordan without attending North Carolina, Allen Iverson without attending Georgetown
University, or Steve Young without attendingBrigham Young University? To earn a spot on a roster,
you can not miss a step in the process of getting there. A college scholarship is a giant step. Along
with college scholarships being a step to making it into professional sports, it is also many times
the only way for some people to earn a college degree. College is very expensive and can many
times run young adults into a large debt once out of college. For example, USC can cost up to
$25,000 a year to attend. That includes tuition, books, parking, room, and board. At the end of a 4
year term at USC, the total comes out to about $100,000. That $100,000 is excluding other living
expenses such as gas, car payment, car insurance, clothing, and general spending money. Not only is
that figure contained to USC but can be easily applied to Georgetown, Brigham Young and The
University of North Carolina. That's a very expensive education and not everybody has the luxury of
spending that much money. Many people would

Why I Want To Get A Scholarship
I'd like to get this scholarship because i'm a very hard worker once I get my mind set on it, I work at
the Roseau Hospital in food service and I absolutely love it! I get to see the residents that's always
the best part of my day.
I'd love to go into nursing once I graduate, but I'd also wanna own a daycare.I absolutely love little
kids too. It's always a good day when you can help someone, just talk to them for an hour and make
them smile.
During high school, I always showed up on time when I needed to be, I'm a very responsible
student. I try my hardest to get everything turned in on time! I also donated blood my 11th grade
year, very amazing experience to donate to somebody that will need it in the future. I love helping

Why Pursue Higher Education
What has motivated you to pursue higher education?
As a woman from a very long line of passionate learners, it is only right for me to continue the
tradition. On my mother's side of the family, a majority of my elder relatives had completed some
form of higher education. My great–grandmother was a certified seamstress, my grandmother and
aunt are certified nurses, my uncle received his degree in chemical engineering, and my mother and
father received their degrees in liberal arts. Growing up with educated, successful, well–traveled
African–American role models throughout my life provided me with the drive and inspiration to
pursue my higher education as well! Although some people may believe that receiving a college
degree and traveling the world represents wealth, but in my family, it represents effort to give back to
the community. My grandmother, mother and sister have all traveled to South Africa to assist

Why did you choose your major or course of study?
As my elders have given back to the community through continuous amounts of volunteer service

student, and part–time employee, I work hard and diligently in all positions in order to assure a
stable and successful future for the d/Deaf community and myself. I believe that this scholarship

Fine Arts Scholarship Essay
I started at taking art classes in high school to explore how I might use art to change and shape
the world around me and I started to learn the demands and possibilities of what art could do and
what I could do. From fifth grade into my sophomore year college my mother had cancer and
various types at that, and so 50% of my responsibilities were home and the other 50% were at
school. I ended up missing school often, but I managed to graduate high school in three years so my
mother could see me graduate because it was one of her dreams. After high school graduation, I
quickly jumped into community college starting in the summer. In college, I had responsibilities at
home but I found my self always thinking and making art. I started taking as...show more content...
I want a damp forehead because I am working so hard, and I want to wake up with charcoal on my

program will allow me to intertwine the arts, and take classes I intend to accomplish and achieve
knowledge that will help pursue my aspiration of being a working artist in today's world. Going into
an area that may not have a very optimistic employment opportunities has put my friends and family
on an edge but I can do this and I can do it well. I am setting out to learn what I do yet understand
and fully believe this is what I am must to do.
I have interest in subjects other than the fine arts as well. Acting, theatre, and music are other
types of art that I can engage and emerge myself in, and find ways I can relate it to my artwork.
Any new experience truly makes my art better. I am so excited to try to learn new ways of

Why Should I Be Awarded A Scholarship
I believe I should be awarded this scholarship because I have put all my focus on my education the
last four years of high school. I took every opportunity and I could to improve my grades. I
personally accepted nothing lower than an A. If I received a B I always pushed myself to do
better the next time. I pushed myself harder than my parents pushed me; they would have been
happy if I had gotten all C's. When I'm not in school I'm working at the local hospital for the last
four years, or volunteering to clean at the local food bank for the last year. I also have babysat many
of the local kids in town.
I should also be awarded this scholarship because I deserve the chance to go to college to further my
education. Of course I could apply for

some are not related directly, all these qualities will influence my graduate work.
When the opportunity showed up I took it. I came to New York City to study film. But I have to
start from the beginning. The first year I prepared to get my GED. In October 2001 I took the
examination and I passed it. Now, the second step, how can I do to pay a college or a university?
I started to work and I took editing courses in the School of Visual Art and NYU. I bought a

events. I earned enough money to start my career. The CUNY advisor sent me to HOSTOS

the major that I was interested in, wasn't in HOSTOS curriculum, I accepted but with the idea in my

College Scholarship Essay
Scholarships are a great way to a free college education. There are many prospective college
students who use several other means for funding their college education such as grants, or loans.
Grants are funds that do not have to be repaid. Student loans usually have to be repaid. There are
several ways how to pay for college, and start off your college career with scholarships.
When starting your search for college scholarships, you should consider your current student status.
Are you a new high school graduate? Are you pursuing a second degree or advanced degree? What
field do you wish to pursue? The answer to these questions may determine where you start your
search for scholarships. If you're a recent high school graduate, you may...show more content...
For example, high demand fields of study would be in fields such as technology, nursing, medicine,
education and science. You may search the internet for these type scholarships, or you may check
with a representative from the financial aid office at the institution that you wish to attend for more
information about these types of unique scholarships.
There are some scholarships that are institution based. You may check with a financial aid counselor
at the institution that you wish to attend to find out if you meet the criteria for any scholarships that
they have available. They will usually inform you of what's available at their institution, and there
may or may not be additional requirements to apply for the scholarship. Some scholarships may
require you to write an essay, or maintain a certain grade point average to keep the scholarship.
There are also many scholarships available to prospective students who are athletes. There are
many generous scholarships available for students who wish to play football, basketball, baseball,
golf, track & field, cheerleading, softball, or other sports. This is usually based on the type of sports
that are offered by the institution that you wish to attend. Many college athletes are recruited prior
to enrollment, but there are opportunities available for

The foreclosure crisis is the second major financial dilemma of the twenty–first century. To solve
this, the roots of the problem need to be dug up and exposed followed by replanting with an
appropriately improved regulatory system to help build stronger roots for the future. It seems that
the free market system can't be free anymore given its intertwining roots extend way beyond
domestic to international financial systems. There are two fundamental causes to the latest credit
crisis: 1) poor quality securitized mortgages and 2) insufficient underwriting for credit poor
borrowers. Secondary (downstream) problems making the financial crisis more complex include
underemployment and business failures. Many banks,...show more content...
Republicans are the pioneers of fiscal conservatism in government, and desire above all else a free
market even with the enormous risk of financial collapse. The country already is in increasing debt
and the money needed to fix a free economy does not exist. And therein lies the problem: America
has only been as successful as it has proven to be because of invention and innovation in technology
and the structure of the economy itself. To restrict innovation would weaken the economy, but
keeping it too open led to the current fiasco. Finding middle ground is the only way to go. America
is not alone with this problem, it needs every country's help to recuperate and rebuild.
The government's attempt to stem the tide of foreclosures and arrest the incredible fall in home
prices have been, in a word, pathetic. One proposal suggested was for banks to offer low 4%
mortgages –– a step in the right direction. But in extending support to buyers of homes, it
completely ignores the problems of millions of families that already have mortgages. As a result, it
does little to halt the surge in foreclosures. With more home owners likely to default this year, the
situation is far from recovery in spite of a wall street surge since March of this year. The new rates,
and lower monthly payments, would be especially helpful for homeowners with negative equity
(they owe more on their mortgages than their homes are worth). Such underwater borrowers, prime

My Life Of A Scholarship Essay
Throughout my childhood I dreamed of my future college adventures. I pictured myself receiving a
full–ride to a major college because of my athletic ability and academic success. As the years
progressed, I came to realize that earning a scholarship through sports wasn't nearly as easy as I
had once believed. Luckily, I was able to grasp this idea early on in high school, and although I
enjoyed athletics, I now understood that the likeliness of my future including sports was marginal.
Due to the many conversations and support that I received from one of my teachers, I was able to
come to peace with the fact that my varsity days would be over in a few short years. My teacher
displayed his devotion to education by helping me come to terms with my future not encompassing
sports, regardless of the fact that he was my head football coach. As a result of the recognition that
my future would be based upon performance in the classroom, I was able to push myself to achieve
new academic goals which eventually resulted in acceptance to SMU. Over the course of my time in
school, I have been fortunate enough to have many wonderful teachers in class. A few weeks ago,
our writing course was presented with a question that asked for one quality that every successful
teacher must possess. Because of the number of excellent teachers I have had, it was difficult to
pinpoint one characteristic ¬¬¬that distinguished itself among the others. After considering the

Scholarship Boy Essay
The goal of wanting to succeed is quite natural for everyone. It is not unjust to assume that all
students want to become successful as well. However, some students are more determined to
succeed than others and take extreme steps to do so. Richard Rodriguez's The Scholarship Boy
discusses the issue with scholarship students. He argues the overachieving student has an eager
obsession with learning. Although Rodriguez addresses the scholarship boy obsession with success,
he fails to describe the undergoing stress of the overachieving student.
The determination of an overachieving student causes an obsession with perfection. Rodriguez
explains the concept of an overachiever and their want to always be perfect. In paragraph 15,

Rodriguez does not discuss how his obsession with education influenced him internally. There is no
further explanation of the emotions of a scholarship student. Rodriguez is successful in uncovering
the mind of an overachieving student. However, many overachieving students encounter an
overwhelming amount of stress while attempting to reach perfection. The student's need for
perfection begins consuming every thought and ends in constant self–evaluation. The obsession with
learning causes the student to question everything that they do.
In my experience, I used to dwell on an assignment if I could not comprehend it. When I would
receive a mark lower than I would have liked, I would question my capability. For a student who is
a scholarship boy, getting a mark lower than an 'A' would damage their self–worth. The process of
achieving greatness on each assignment involves an overwhelming amount of emotion. Many
students stress over whether or not their work is good enough or meeting the requirements. They are
unable to properly think because every thought is controlled by self–doubt. This thought process is
not only damaging to the student's self–esteem but also causes mental and physical illnesses.
The educational journey to succeed may influence the mental health of a scholarship student.
Rodriguez does not acknowledge the negative effects of being a scholarship student. He discusses the

Scholarship Essay For Scholarship
My Scholarship Essay As a goal oriented young adult, I aim to express my motivation to apply for
the Valencia College foundation scholarship. As a college student, I thrive on the challenges and
obstacles that I encounter which allow me to continue become a successful scholar. My family for
one, are the main source of motivation, which allows me to continue to excel in school. My past
work experiences, also allow me to push through to my full potential in continuing my education.
Lastly, my educational aspirations consist in becoming a registered nurse and to finally hold my
bachelor's degree in my hand. All these examples motivate me to continue to transcend in school.
Unfortunately, at one time I had the mindset that going to college was not imperative. Admittedly, I
thought that going to a technical college and getting a certification degree was all that mattered.
What changed my perspective, was when I looked into my son's eyes and I thought to myself of
ways of making him proud of his mommy. In addition, my husband encouraged me to never give up
on my dreams and to go back to school. Eventually, I want to be better for them and continue to lead
by example.
One of the greatest decisions I ever made, was to go back to school. Thanks to the motivational
support I receive from them, they empathize why I have to stay up till three o clock in the morning
to finish papers for school. Even though we are consumed with many financial impediments every

things like this. I've never stopped trying at anything I've done and I will continue this as I go

Good Scholarship Essays

  • 1. I believe that I should be awarded this scholarship because I come from a background in which my parents did not go far with education. This has made life hard for my family and myself. My mother is unable to work because she is dealing with multiple sicknesses and my father, who was our main source of income, passed away. My parent both put a lot of pressure on me to get a good education, but we lack the funds to make my dreams of becoming a doctor a reality. If I am awarded this scholarship, I would be so grateful and it would not go to waste. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Community Scholarship Essay A young person should strive to support their local community for various reasons. Engaging in community service provides people with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service and volunteerism enables one to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most. Supporting the community is a way to give back, it's a learning experience, it strengthens the community, promotes personal growth and self–esteem, it brings people together, it makes you feel good, it's an investment to the area you work and live and most importantly it allows you to make a difference. I have been able to develop real–world skills that has helped me to succeed both in school and at home. I have learned leadership, problem solving, time management, communication skills and how to work with others. I can see firsthand that the work I have done has made a real impact in the community. I have interacted with people...show more content... I participated in my schools Beautification Project by cleaning up the school grounds and surrounding area. I pulled weeds, planted flowers, laid mulch, picked up trash and painted. This was important to me because it allowed me to give back to the area I both live and attend school. I have baked and distributed cookies to families at the Ronald Me Donald House. I have also prepared snack packs for families at the Ronald Me Donald House– prepared bags with pudding cups cheese crackers, chips, granola bars and muffins. These were provided to families so that they could have access to a snack while at the hospital with their child. I have sort/packed food at the Mid–Ohio Food Bank, volunteered as a community meal server and donate blood regularly. I also assisted with coordinating the blood drive at my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. How Would A Scholarship Impact My Life A $3,000 scholarship would greatly impact me and make a big difference in my life. Education has always been extremely important in my family, and a college education is highly valued in my community. Because of this, my parents have been planning on me going to college since before I was born. I am so grateful for their endless support. However, moral–support alone will not help me get into college. Since I was a child, I've always thought of college as a necessity, so I've been saving up for years. Besides working hard in school and being strongly academic, I've also been working since I was 12 years old to save money. My first job was babysitting, and I got CPR–certified and registered by my city. I've been working hard my whole life to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Athletic Scholarships Essay Athletic Scholarships There are many good athletes in professional sports today. There are many good athletes in college sports today also. Some of the biggest names in sports are Mark McGwire, Steve Young, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and so on. Now, imagine if all of those players never made it to the pros. What would happen to professional sports? Why are they in the pros now? To make it into professional sports you need more than just talent. You need opportunity. Collegescholarships not only give athletes the opportunity to reach the professional ranks, but also give the chance for many players to earn a degree in higher education. Many people dream of being a professional athlete. Some people make it a reality, but...show more content... After it's done baking, the final product is a delicious cake. The cake can't be complete without it being baked. There can not be a missed step in the process. Could Mark McGwire have made it to the pros without attending The University of Southern California(USC) on an athletic scholarship or Michael Jordan without attending North Carolina, Allen Iverson without attending Georgetown University, or Steve Young without attendingBrigham Young University? To earn a spot on a roster, you can not miss a step in the process of getting there. A college scholarship is a giant step. Along with college scholarships being a step to making it into professional sports, it is also many times the only way for some people to earn a college degree. College is very expensive and can many times run young adults into a large debt once out of college. For example, USC can cost up to $25,000 a year to attend. That includes tuition, books, parking, room, and board. At the end of a 4 year term at USC, the total comes out to about $100,000. That $100,000 is excluding other living expenses such as gas, car payment, car insurance, clothing, and general spending money. Not only is that figure contained to USC but can be easily applied to Georgetown, Brigham Young and The University of North Carolina. That's a very expensive education and not everybody has the luxury of spending that much money. Many people would Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 6. Why Pursue Higher Education What has motivated you to pursue higher education? As a woman from a very long line of passionate learners, it is only right for me to continue the tradition. On my mother's side of the family, a majority of my elder relatives had completed some form of higher education. My great–grandmother was a certified seamstress, my grandmother and aunt are certified nurses, my uncle received his degree in chemical engineering, and my mother and father received their degrees in liberal arts. Growing up with educated, successful, well–traveled African–American role models throughout my life provided me with the drive and inspiration to pursue my higher education as well! Although some people may believe that receiving a college degree and traveling the world represents wealth, but in my family, it represents effort to give back to the community. My grandmother, mother and sister have all traveled to South Africa to assist provide free–services to poverty–stricken neighborhoods. Why did you choose your major or course of study? • 7. Fine Arts Scholarship Essay I started at taking art classes in high school to explore how I might use art to change and shape the world around me and I started to learn the demands and possibilities of what art could do and what I could do. From fifth grade into my sophomore year college my mother had cancer and various types at that, and so 50% of my responsibilities were home and the other 50% were at school. I ended up missing school often, but I managed to graduate high school in three years so my mother could see me graduate because it was one of her dreams. After high school graduation, I quickly jumped into community college starting in the summer. In college, I had responsibilities at home but I found my self always thinking and making art. I started taking as...show more content... I want a damp forehead because I am working so hard, and I want to wake up with charcoal on my face because I had been up all night finishing an assignment. The fine arts program will allow me to intertwine the arts, and take classes I intend to accomplish and achieve knowledge that will help pursue my aspiration of being a working artist in today's world. Going into an area that may not have a very optimistic employment opportunities has put my friends and family on an edge but I can do this and I can do it well. I am setting out to learn what I do yet understand and fully believe this is what I am must to do. I have interest in subjects other than the fine arts as well. Acting, theatre, and music are other types of art that I can engage and emerge myself in, and find ways I can relate it to my artwork. Any new experience truly makes my art better. • 8. Why Should I Be Awarded A Scholarship I believe I should be awarded this scholarship because I have put all my focus on my education the last four years of high school. I took every opportunity and I could to improve my grades. I personally accepted nothing lower than an A. If I received a B I always pushed myself to do better the next time. I pushed myself harder than my parents pushed me; they would have been happy if I had gotten all C's. When I'm not in school I'm working at the local hospital for the last four years, or volunteering to clean at the local food bank for the last year. I also have babysat many of the local kids in town. I should also be awarded this scholarship because I deserve the chance to go to college to further my education. I strongly believe that although some are not related directly, all these qualities will influence my graduate work. When the opportunity showed up I took it. I came to New York City to study film. But I have to start from the beginning. The first year I prepared to get my GED. In October 2001 I took the examination and I passed it. Now, the second step, how can I do to pay a college or a university? I started to work and I took editing courses in the School of Visual Art and NYU. I bought a digital camera and I learned how to used it. I started to work making digital videos for parties and events. I earned enough money to start my career. The CUNY advisor sent me to HOSTOS Community College because he told me that it would be easier for me to study there. Even though the major that I was interested in, wasn't in HOSTOS curriculum, I accepted but with the idea in my mind to changed to the college where film major was imparted. • 11. Scholarship Essay Scholarship Essay The foreclosure crisis is the second major financial dilemma of the twenty–first century. To solve this, the roots of the problem need to be dug up and exposed followed by replanting with an appropriately improved regulatory system to help build stronger roots for the future. It seems that the free market system can't be free anymore given its intertwining roots extend way beyond domestic to international financial systems. There are two fundamental causes to the latest credit crisis: 1) poor quality securitized mortgages and 2) insufficient underwriting for credit poor borrowers. Secondary (downstream) problems making the financial crisis more complex include underemployment and business failures. Many banks,...show more content... Republicans are the pioneers of fiscal conservatism in government, and desire above all else a free market even with the enormous risk of financial collapse. The country already is in increasing debt and the money needed to fix a free economy does not exist. And therein lies the problem: America has only been as successful as it has proven to be because of invention and innovation in technology and the structure of the economy itself. To restrict innovation would weaken the economy, but keeping it too open led to the current fiasco. Finding middle ground is the only way to go. America is not alone with this problem, it needs every country's help to recuperate and rebuild. The government's attempt to stem the tide of foreclosures and arrest the incredible fall in home prices have been, in a word, pathetic. One proposal suggested was for banks to offer low 4% mortgages –– a step in the right direction. But in extending support to buyers of homes, it completely ignores the problems of millions of families that already have mortgages. As a result, it does little to halt the surge in foreclosures. With more home owners likely to default this year, the situation is far from recovery in spite of a wall street surge since March of this year. The new rates, and lower monthly payments, would be especially helpful for homeowners with negative equity (they owe more on their mortgages than their homes are worth). Such underwater borrowers, prime candidates for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My Life Of A Scholarship Essay Throughout my childhood I dreamed of my future college adventures. I pictured myself receiving a full–ride to a major college because of my athletic ability and academic success. As the years progressed, I came to realize that earning a scholarship through sports wasn't nearly as easy as I had once believed. Luckily, I was able to grasp this idea early on in high school, and although I enjoyed athletics, I now understood that the likeliness of my future including sports was marginal. Due to the many conversations and support that I received from one of my teachers, I was able to come to peace with the fact that my varsity days would be over in a few short years. My teacher displayed his devotion to education by helping me come to terms with my future not encompassing sports, regardless of the fact that he was my head football coach. As a result of the recognition that my future would be based upon performance in the classroom, I was able to push myself to achieve new academic goals which eventually resulted in acceptance to SMU. Over the course of my time in school, I have been fortunate enough to have many wonderful teachers in class. A few weeks ago, our writing course was presented with a question that asked for one quality that every successful teacher must possess. Because of the number of excellent teachers I have had, it was difficult to pinpoint one characteristic ¬¬¬that distinguished itself among the others. After considering the attributes that my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Scholarship Boy Essay The goal of wanting to succeed is quite natural for everyone. It is not unjust to assume that all students want to become successful as well. However, some students are more determined to succeed than others and take extreme steps to do so. Richard Rodriguez's The Scholarship Boy discusses the issue with scholarship students. He argues the overachieving student has an eager obsession with learning. Although Rodriguez addresses the scholarship boy obsession with success, he fails to describe the undergoing stress of the overachieving student. The determination of an overachieving student causes an obsession with perfection. Rodriguez explains the concept of an overachiever and their want to always be perfect. In paragraph 15, Rodriguez...show more content... Rodriguez does not discuss how his obsession with education influenced him internally. There is no further explanation of the emotions of a scholarship student. Rodriguez is successful in uncovering the mind of an overachieving student. However, many overachieving students encounter an overwhelming amount of stress while attempting to reach perfection. The student's need for perfection begins consuming every thought and ends in constant self–evaluation. The obsession with learning causes the student to question everything that they do. In my experience, I used to dwell on an assignment if I could not comprehend it. When I would receive a mark lower than I would have liked, I would question my capability. For a student who is a scholarship boy, getting a mark lower than an 'A' would damage their self–worth. The process of achieving greatness on each assignment involves an overwhelming amount of emotion. Many students stress over whether or not their work is good enough or meeting the requirements. They are unable to properly think because every thought is controlled by self–doubt. This thought process is not only damaging to the student's self–esteem but also causes mental and physical illnesses. The educational journey to succeed may influence the mental health of a scholarship student. Rodriguez does not acknowledge the negative effects of being a scholarship student. He discusses the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 18. Scholarship Essay For Scholarship My Scholarship Essay As a goal oriented young adult, I aim to express my motivation to apply for the Valencia College foundation scholarship. As a college student, I thrive on the challenges and obstacles that I encounter which allow me to continue become a successful scholar. My family for one, are the main source of motivation, which allows me to continue to excel in school. My past work experiences, also allow me to push through to my full potential in continuing my education. Lastly, my educational aspirations consist in becoming a registered nurse and to finally hold my bachelor's degree in my hand. All these examples motivate me to continue to transcend in school. Unfortunately, at one time I had the mindset that going to college was not imperative. Admittedly, I thought that going to a technical college and getting a certification degree was all that mattered. What changed my perspective, was when I looked into my son's eyes and I thought to myself of ways of making him proud of his mommy. In addition, my husband encouraged me to never give up on my dreams and to go back to school. Eventually, I want to be better for them and continue to lead by example. One of the greatest decisions I ever made, was to go back to school. Thanks to the motivational support I receive from them, they empathize why I have to stay up till three o clock in the morning to finish papers for school.
