The survey asked schools in 1998/99 whether they addressed four topics related to sustainable development in their teaching - environmental issues, social equity, global development, and economic prosperity through wise resource use. Schools reported on which subjects featured these topics. The survey also examined coverage of these topics and barriers to teaching sustainable development in schools.
