Statement Of Purpose To Become A Neonatal Nurse
About Me
I have many goals in my life. I want to be able to do better than what my mom has done and show her that I can make something of myself. I can go
to college and get as many degrees as I want as long as I put my mind to it. My other goals in life would to become a either a neonatal nurse
practitioner or historian studying black history.
I want to become either a neonatal nurse practitioner because I love caring for sick babies and helping them grow and improve. The main reason
why I want to become to a neonatal nurse is because of my brother's was born with heart problems which caused him to be in the NICU for quite
some time. His problems have left him with permanent scarring and a deep voice for the rest of his life. Seeing that ... Show more content on

It may sound scary but it is true. I am a highly indeed private person and I don't want others knowing about me unless I want them to and I sense
that they are a good a person. I have a high priority in being true to oneself. If you're not able to be true to yourself then how can you get around in
life? How will you achieve anything in life? Let alone love other people and many other things. I am also extremely observant of the people
around me. I can't be friends with everyone I meet. You will never know what they could be plotting against you behind your back as well as if
they really think of you as a friend. I have learned that the hard way as I grown up over the years. That is why I have very few close friends and the
rest are people I just talk to when I don't want to be lonely during the school hours.
Now I think about the future way too much to the point where I get death and start to question what happens when I'm gone. I have already have
everything planned out and know where I'm going to be doing and what not. I know I want to go to a community college and get my required courses
out of the way. If I enjoy the community college, I will eventually stay there and then go forward into getting my bachelor's and master's. I will
hopefully be living somewhere it snows a lot and have very long winters. I will be living in either a tiny home with my significant other a small

Essay On Becoming A Neonatal Nurse
It really looks like you enjoy working with younger people. I definitely already knew what I wanted to be as soon as I got out of high school.
Many people from my own family and my friends have always seen the baby fever I get when it comes to little babies . I have alway had a passion
taking care of babies toddlers and preschoolers looking after them, helping them whether they are sick or not. When I get out of high I would like
to go to a community college and become a neonatal nurse for little infants and watch them grow through their teenage years . I really think I would
enjoy this very much because I love caring and providing for others even if it's for little babies or grown ups. I've done a lot of volunteering work at
my school working with the teachers' kids . Looking after them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

fever. But it is because I have a younger little girl cousin who is special needs and I would like to help those types of kids in there well being . Little
kids steal my heart I see so much joy in their eyes and I see they have a long way to enjoy life and could be the future of the world one day . I would
like to also save their life and look over them. As I was getting older and saw my little cousin go through surgery after surgery I saw how strong she
developed over time many nursers said my little girl cousin would never be able to speak or read . But at the age of 5 my little cousin acted like if
she had a three year old mentality and little by little I would make her look at pictures and words and she was able to pronounce each and every

I want to become a nurse because as a baby I had many difficulties in coming to this world. From being eight months premature and breech, my
mother had a hard time giving birth to me. She had to fly from the island of Kauai to Oahu to give birth to me and because I was eight months
premature I almost didn't survive. I would not be here today if it weren't for the nurses at Kapiolani Medical Center who took care of me and nursed
me into a healthy little baby. These nurses helped me fight for my life and when I was discharged, they gave me a little green doll that I still hold
onto until this very day. For this reason, I have the desire to work hard and become the neonatal nurse that I always wanted to be. Being a neonatal nurse

Hawaii Pacific University has one of the best nursing programs and I was also informed that they would help me find a job when I have completed
the program. I also chose to go to Hawaii Pacific University because it was a college close to home. I got the opportunity to explore the campus
beforehand as well and I thought that the Hawaii Loa campus was incredibly beautiful and green which reminded me a lot like my home in Kauai.
Because of this, the campus made me feel more at home and I thought it would help my transition into college much easier. Even though it is close
to home I can still experience living on my own and becoming independent. Another reason I chose to come to Hawaii Pacific University was
because of the smaller class sizes. The class sizes are smaller than other universities and I thought this was better for me because it gives me a better
opportunity to have one on one conversations with the professors when I need that extra help or tutoring. I was excited to come to Hawaii Pacific

Career As A Neonatal Nurse
By: Herkisha Young
My Dream Career
Revised Rough Draft
A Neonatal Nurse is a career I have always wanted in this world. When I was younger, I have always dreamed of being a nurse working with babies. I
started watching this television show called "Labor and Delivery" on TLC almost every week day. There would be a mother who was ready to deliver
her new born baby. I would observe this television show and think, when I grow up, I would like to be a Neonatal Nurse. A Neonatal Nurse is one who
specializes in infant care. As a Neonatal Nurse I would be the nurse of confidence, compassion, and honesty. Because I possess these traits, A Neonatal
Nurse would be an ideal career for me.
Confidence is the first attribute of a Neonatal Nurse because of my determination and strong will. When I am able to take orders from a leading
physician and show belief in myself I am capable of performing my duties under any circumstances. I will keep my patients' information, history and
records private. For example, I have informed the mother that the information of her new born is confidential, and will only be discussed and shown to
the treating physician of her choice. My self–esteem grows when I have shown discipline and believe that I understand that there are individuals
around me who has more experience, which I can go to and ask for help. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Caring for my patient is a key to having a successful business. As a Neonatal Nurse I will respect the mother and her new born. I will show my staff
how much I care by working as a team to accomplishing our goals. When I encourage and motivate the mother who may face difficulties, I will keep
her baby comfortable while going through medication withdrawals. By creatively performing my job to the best of my ability and completing tasks in
a timely matter, will help tremendously. However, as a Neonatal Nurse, I will show the mother and her new born concern towards their personal

My twin cousins were born two months early and my aunt and uncle weren't able to hold them. The only personal touch they felt, for the first week of
their life, was that from the neonatal nurses caring for them while they were in the neonatal intensive care unit. After experiencing the hardship and the

know that this would be an extremely helpful skill to know in this line of work and that I would overall help me become more well rounded.

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Essay
Ever since I was a little girl, I was always telling my parents I wanted to be a doctor to help people. As I got older my sisters had babies and I
always wanted to hold them and take care of them furthermore, just recently I had come across a defined profession caring for infants in a great
deal of need. I have been interested in helping people in need, performing surgeries and caring for infants since I was approximately eight years
old. I have recently been doing some research on a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP), and believe that the job description fits me well. I would
find a colossal amount of joy in being a NNP because I love being around babies and would enjoy being able to make a difference in their early life,
as well as in their family's lives. Neonatal nurse practitioners work under the physician to provide special care to infants that are seriously ill. A NNP
"orders labs, administers medications, diagnoses conditions and preforms invasive surgeries under the supervision of a doctor" (Neonatal Nurse

I.Raise your hand if you are a parent. To all the parents that raised their hands, think back to the time you and your spouse were in the hospital room
anxiously waiting for your unborn child to arrive. How happy were you when the nurse placed your baby into your arms? That feeling of seeing your
healthy newborn baby for the first time is unexplainable, but how would you feel if your newborn was born prematurely or had birth defects? II.The
short–staff of neonatal nurses has led to more than 23,000 American infants died in 2014, or about 6 for every 1,000 live births (Vital Record New).
III.Twenty–one years ago, my parents received the devastating news that my lungs were not developing properly and as a result my mom had an
induced labor. I was born as a premature baby, weighing only 3 lbs. and was placed in the care of neonatal nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit (NICU) for 18 days. While my mom came to visit me, she would notice how well the nurses would care for me. Though their jobs were tough,
the nurses would often carry me while I was crying and would often talk me to sleep, sometimes singing lullabies. IV.This situation has made me
grateful to be alive since I was able to be brought back to health due to these wonderful neonatal nurses who helped me recover, but not many

The Career Of A Neonatal Nurse
Neonatal Nursing Steven Amsterdam once said, "Nursing demands vigilance about people. The sights and smells that a patient offers, their
movements and their offhand comments all contribute crucial information to understanding what they need. Training and experience heighten
one 's ability to see what needs to be seen." As a child I was given adult responsibilities, which began when my very first nephew was born. By the
age of 7 I was changing his diapers, making him bottles, and caring for him and i couldn't think of any better career than getting to work with
babies all day. I always carry the compassion and desire to help others and nothing would be more rewarding than being able to put my skills to

administering medications, monitoring vital signs and providing vital nutrients to newborns. Most premature and sick newborns have lungs that aren't
fully developed, the neonatal nurse must ensure that infants are breathing and maturing properly. They provide complete care for babies, such as attend

This at first, did not make a whole lot of sense to me, but now it does. When a baby has gone through stress in utero, they have built up a tolerance
to stress and pain. Their bodies have felt factors of strain, and can deal with it a lot better than babies who have not been exposed to stressful events
before. However, after a neonate is born, it is critical to prevent stress as much as you can. Babies are constantly being assessed, held, bathed, and fed.
Swaddling has been proven to help distress neonates by being wrapped up in a blanket tightly (Buonocore & Bellieni, 2007, p. 87). You can imagine
the immediate shock neonates encounter once leaving their mother's womb. "There they desperately suffer while discovering their new, constricted
condition. They are pinned to their little bed by gravity, deprived of their usual reassuring gestures (sucking their thumb, playing with their umbilical
cord, placenta, or feet, masturbating, or swallowing amniotic liquid) because of their lack of motor coordination. They have lost their freedom and any
kind of potential initiative; they are now submissive and become passive. Many of them escape into their own world and anesthetize their perceptions;
they dissociate themselves, which later on will influence their way of living. I am often brought

If you're not able to be true to yourself then how can you get around in life? How will you achieve anything in life? Let alone love other people and many other things. I am also extremely observant of the people around me. I can't be friends with everyone I meet. You will never know what they could be plotting against you behind your back as well as if they really think of you as a friend. I have learned that the hard way as I grown up over the years. That is why I have very few close friends and the rest are people I just talk to when I don't want to be lonely during the school hours. Now I think about the future way too much to the point where I get death and start to question what happens when I'm gone. I have already have everything planned out and know where I'm going to be doing and what not. I know I want to go to a community college and get my required courses out of the way. If I enjoy the community college, I will eventually stay there and then go forward into getting my bachelor's and master's. I will hopefully be living somewhere it snows a lot and have very long winters. I will be living in either a tiny home with my significant other a small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From being eight months premature and breech, my mother had a hard time giving birth to me. She had to fly from the island of Kauai to Oahu to give birth to me and because I was eight months premature I almost didn't survive. I would not be here today if it weren't for the nurses at Kapiolani Medical Center who took care of me and nursed me into a healthy little baby. These nurses helped me fight for my life and when I was discharged, they gave me a little green doll that I still hold onto until this very day. Because of this, the campus made me feel more at home and I thought it would help my transition into college much easier. Even though it is close to home I can still experience living on my own and becoming independent. Another reason I chose to come to Hawaii Pacific University was because of the smaller class sizes. The class sizes are smaller than other universities and I thought this was better for me because it gives me a better opportunity to have one on one conversations with the professors when I need that extra help or tutoring. • 33. I Want To Become A Neonatal Nurse In my life I have thought about doing or being a lot of different things. But I think that I have made up my mind and when I get older I want to be a Neonatal Nurse. The reason as to why I want to become a "baby nurse" isn't really exciting. I want to be a neonatal nurse because it sounds really interesting and it sounds like something I would actually enjoy doing for the rest of my life. Since I really want to become a nurse I would have to create a couple habits in order to obtain my goal. The first habit I would have to make is learning to listen to people better. I struggle with this because my brain is always wondering off and I can't stay focused for a long time. I know they make medication for it and I have it, I just don't take it even though I should. Another habit I would need to create is working better with others. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Water is probably my biggest fear. Not drinking water but giant body of water, like the ocean or a lake. For some odd reason I always think I am going to drown every time I get in any type of body of water. I think that if I am going to try and become less scared of water I need to learn how to do some stuff first. First, I probably need to learn to swim. I know how to "Doggy Paddle" but I don't think that counts when it comes to swimming Atlantic or Pacific. Another thing I need to do is try not to worry as much when I go out on a boat or just go swimming. I get so stressed to the point that I can't even have fun because I am so worried of drowning. I plan to reach my goals by doing a couple of things. How I plan on learning to swim is I'm going swim more in the summer in a swimming pool. I would go to a swimming class but I went to one when I was four, five, and six and it didn't get me anywhere. The second thing that I am going to do is learn how to relax. Neonatal nurses are nurses who care for premature babies, otherwise known as neonates. They have many different job responsibilities, including, assessing a client's pain, caring for them, and understanding what is best for the specific client. Despite all the criticism about my career choice, I have reinforced my decision by learning about the effects of stress, the type of care nurses implement, and best practices of neonatal nurses. Before coming to school I knew I aspired to be a neonatal nurse, although I was not aware of everything that went along with it. I was a premature baby, along with my older sister. When a baby has gone through stress in utero, they have built up a tolerance to stress and pain. Their bodies have felt factors of strain, and can deal with it a lot better than babies who have not been exposed to stressful events before. However, after a neonate is born, it is critical to prevent stress as much as you can. Babies are constantly being assessed, held, bathed, and fed. Swaddling has been proven to help distress neonates by being wrapped up in a blanket tightly (Buonocore & Bellieni, 2007, p. 87). You can imagine the immediate shock neonates encounter once leaving their mother's womb. "There they desperately suffer while discovering their new, constricted condition. They are pinned to their little bed by gravity, deprived of their usual reassuring gestures (sucking their thumb, playing with their umbilical cord, placenta, or feet, masturbating, or swallowing amniotic liquid) because of their lack of motor coordination. They have lost their freedom and any kind of potential initiative; they are now submissive and become passive. Many of them escape into their own world and anesthetize their perceptions; they dissociate themselves, which later on will influence their way of living. I am often brought ...
