Sugar Gnome
There are two different ‘interfaces’ on the XO. They
have different ‘applications’ or ‘activities’ and different
ways of working. You can switch between the two.
7. HOME- The Favourites (Ring) View
The Ring view shows the FAVOURITE activities of a child arranged in a ring
around the XO icon in the middle. From the XO icon, you can personalise the
XO, switch to Gnome and make system changes.
8. HOME- The List View
The List View shows ALL the activities available on the XO in a list. The
activities that have been ‘starred’ (click on the left icon of a row) appear in the
Favourites view. You can also find additional information about the activities
and search for them in this view.
9. Starting an Activity
To start an activity, click on the picture. It will take you back to what you were
working on the last time you were using the activity.
‘Hovering’ means waiting with your pointer over an icon. This will often show
you options, such as a menu.
