Lab 10
Objectives:
Your task isto complete the networkdesign;install variousdevices, completethe configuration,
and monitorthe networkforQoS.
Familiarize youruse of PacketTracerand explore the QoScapabilities.
A listof tasksis listedbelow.
Lab Topology
Once you have completedall networkconfigurations, your topology shouldmatchthe networkshown
below.
Tasks
Cable andconfiguration
1. Drag and drop a PC ontothe physical workspace in PacketTracer. Install thisPCconnectingto
QoS_Routerport Fa0/0. Label thisPC “Host 1”. Applythe followingconfiguration:
a. IP Address –10.1.1.200
b. SubnetMask – 255.255.0.0
c. DefaultGateway – 10.1.1.1
2. Drag and drop anotherServerontothe physical workspace inPacketTracer. Install thisServer
connectingtoR3 port Fa0/0. Label thisServer“Server1”. Applythe followingconfiguration:
a. IP Address –200.200.200.200
b. SubnetMask – 255.255.255.0
c. DefaultGateway – 200.200.200.1
2. DCN330 Fall 2017
3. Install the module WIC-2Ttothe three routersso that eachof themhas 2 serial ports(S0/0/0
and S0/0/1).
4. Connectingthe routersandassignthe properIPaddressestothe interfaces.
5. Do the QoS configurationstothe outboundinterface connectingtoR2 withthe following
objectives:
a. Guaranteed1Mbps bandwidthforHTTP Webtraffic
b. Guaranteed2 Mbps bandwidthforFTPdata traffic(forfile downloads)
c. Guaranteedlow-latency256 KbpsbandwidthforEmail datatraffic(POP3,SMTP)
d. Provide besteffortservice forICMPtraffic.
6. Generate pingsessionswithsize 12000 byte betweenR1and R3 andgenerate some testdata
trafficbasedonthe protocolsstatedabove,i.e.,HTTP,FTP,POP3,SMTP.
7. Verifyif yourconfigurationissuccessful(alsomake sure yourHost1can interconnectwith
Server1) and attach your configurationof all the routers; the snapshot of one successful
connection(selectedfromanyone of HTTP, FTP, POP3, SMTP services) underthe above
ongoingping session.
Note:your marks will dependon how much you can achieve the objectives, supportedby your
screenshots,and the PKT files.
