What Are Rvc Student Learning Outcomes
RVC Student Learning Outcomes RVC has four main learning outcomes: analytic reasoning,
communication, global awareness and responsibility, and personal responsibility. By instilling these
learning outcomes onto you throughout your time at Rock Valley, you graduate with knowing and
being able to turn the outcomes into skills that you can use. The outcomes can be used in many ways
and places throughout your life. They help you with personal, work, and global communication. The
outcomes are taught throughout your time at RVC. They help you as a student understand what you
should be getting out of the classes you are taking besides only memorizing information. They are
what you should try and aim to achieve before you leave RVC. One learning outcome that I believe
is important is analytic reasoning. Analytic reasoning is necessary to be successful in not only an
educational atmosphere, but also in personal and work atmospheres. I believe analytic reasoning is
important because it is a method that teaches you to how to use logic to resolve any sort of situation.
It makes one look at things from different perspectives and really try and understand what a concept
is. By doing this, it makes it possible to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is an important thing to learn because you will need to know how to be able to communicate
with just about everyone in many different situations. Having good communication skills means
being able to effectively get your point across to others and to be able to listen to others and
understand what they are trying to tell you. Good communication skills are not only talking and
listening to someone in person, but also being able to communicate with others through writing and
being able to understand written things. This is a skill that will be important in all aspects of one's
life so it is important to have a good communication in order to be able to exchange ideas and

Purpose Of College Education

for you to have a career? What does it mean to be a professional for you? Many people do not know
the meaning or objective to have a college education because they do not consider important factor
when it comes to make an important choice in this case, your career. Today in America the purpose
of a college education can be interpretive in different ways and meaning depending on the position

the rest of your life; it is important to enjoy and feel happy with your choice. Enjoying what you will

Another important factor to follow a college education that most students considered the biggest
reason, it is the income of the career. Along these year having a college education has become more
crucial for people to earn higher salaries, in every job it is a requirement to have at least a bachelor,
if more studies and experience higher the income payment will be; it will also lead to have a better
life style for yourself and most importantly to accomplish your dreams. However, this should not
totally influence in your decision for example "Students and their families anywhere in the nation
should be wary of using only information about salaries just after graduation when choosing a
school major" (Gray 52). Students and people should be careful when it comes to choose a major
because money it is important, but more important is to be contented and with your choice and more

"What stage is the cancer in?" I asked, supposing I should give the doctor a good first impression
with professionality. It was my first day interning at Lopburi Cancer Hospital in Thailand. In my
memory, being diagnosed with cancer itself meant death and being able to live longer was all that
matters in cancer treatment. However, the doctor refused to answer my question with a simple
number, continuing to describe the varies treatments he had used. "I usually check curative (instead
of palliative) when I am unsure, so that the patients would feel better." He added before we went on
to the next patient.
In the two months, rather than merely learning about medical knowledges as I expected, I gained a
fresh understanding of healthcare and the importance of health policies.
After a week working in the hospital, I went on home visits with nurses, doctors, nutritionists,
psychologists and a monk. The first patient lives in a shabby wooden house. A great contrast could
be seen between the room that the patient lives in and the rest of the house. "The patient is
diagnosed with prostate cancer with bone metastasis. The room is specially built for him by the
hospital and his family. He won't live long." A nurse told me. On another visit, I met a man with

A Career : The Importance Of A Career
To begin with, a career is an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person's life and
with opportunities for progress. People want to pursue a passion, but they forget the fundamentals
and spend most of their life figuring it out with no guidance. A career is important to choose because
it helps you develop a sense of priority and help you attain knowledge towards your desired passion.
Unbelievably, with experience people end up changing their minds and start to pursue something
else that might interest them and that is totally fine. The whole point of a career is to help you
determine what you like as a future profession and attain knowledge about it, so you can make a
clear–cut decision.
Everyone in the world wants to be something and a career can help you focus on a certain path
rather than asking hundreds of questions that just confuses you and wastes time. By planning and
setting a specific timeline for accomplishing the things you want to achieve, you will find that your
career is an effective way to ensure you never lose motivation along the way. Between the
accountability of having fixed objectives and the inspiration you will receive when you attain you
goals, your career is an opportunity to maximize your true potential. Many people think that going
to college and earning a degree is the best way to gain experience and master your future profession.
Do you think that would be true? Absolutely not, having an environment specifically designed for a

Transitions In School Counseling
Transitions occur throughout life and there are numerous transitions students face within the school
setting. Since school counselors support students in academic, career and college, and social and
personal development, school counselors are in key positions to provide students with opportunities,
equity, and access to programs that support smooth transitions and college and career readiness
(Erford, 2015). Career development and transition programs are important because they support they
can provide students with access and information to programs or careers that they may otherwise not
have known about. In addition, transition programs can reduce student stress and anxiety, and can
help to improve retention, achievement, and attendance rates (Cauley & Jovanovich, 2006).
However, there are challenges that can occur, such as students not having access to rigorous courses
or having no personal academic plan (Erford, 2015). Some ways to overcome this is to advocate for
students to have rigorous courses that meet the students' needs for their specific goals. Thus, school
counselors can help students create personal academic plans that include college and career goals,
and then schedule students in classes that will meet their future goals. In addition, the school
counselor can provide valuable information to parents and help students that may not have college
and career information provided to them at home.
Summarize your answers to the questions in the Transitions in

The Value Of Higher Education
The value of higher education cannot be underestimated considering the contemporary realities of
the competitive marketplace. A higher education degree serves as the first impression of a job seeker
applying for employment. Namely, a college degree is a person's pass to their future career and so
work–related opportunities are enormous. Many people that lived in the United States are
immigrants; having free education for the international students is the way to help them to achieve
their American Dream. Furthermore, a college degree should be an educational right in the United
States, like having free education from pre–k to twelve grade; since it is nearly impossible to find
good career opportunities and persuade the American Dream without that higher education degree.
Nowadays, having a college degree is quite important for personal development and everyone
should strive to get the higher education. Many high school graduates, however, decide not to go to
college because of the four or more years required for studying needs a lot of commitment in terms
of time, effort, and money. In Cohen's article, she interviewed Mr.Lennon, and he said: "For high
school students, a four–year college education is frequently held out as the only viable option,
precisely because job opportunities and wages are so much better upon graduation"(Cohen). Many
students did not know that attending college is important in an individual's life and most people that
just went to high school and then,

variety of different effects. Every person is different and is entitled to there own decision, I am
personally for college. I also believe that if it get you to where you want to be and it makes you
happy then that's what you should do.
The pros to attending and graduating college. College can be a great investment towards your future
and future career. "College can boost your wages $30,000 more than the average high school grad
and $500,000 more in your lifetime" (Life Noggin). Another big fact is that 63% of American jobs
require higher education. College can be really expensive in the beginning but, don't let the sticker
price scare you away. "Bachelor's degrees earn about 75% more than high school grads, and over a
lifetime, that payoff is huge" (Kurtz page 2). Even if you attended college and earned a degree that
wouldn't go towards your career, just having a college education can affect you and your wages and

of you already know what your career path will be and others are still fine tuning your choices. If
you have great communication skills, are detailed orientated and have a strong aptitude for science

than that. You will need to complete a four year degree to obtain your Pharm.D. (Doctor of
Pharmacy). Admissions requirements vary by program, however, all Doctor of Pharmacy programs
require applicants to take postsecondary courses such as chemistry, biology, and anatomy. Most
programs require at least 2 years of undergraduate study, although some require a bachelor's degree.
Most programs also require applicants to take the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT).
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, prospective pharmacists must pass two exams to get a

knowledge. The Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE) or a state–specific test on
pharmacy law is also required. Applicants also must complete a number of hours as an intern, which

Developing a Personal Career Strategy (PCS)
Companies no longer hire people out of high school or college and provide them with career
security for the rest of their life. In some ways, career management has become an independent
enterprise, something of a sole proprietorship, or as a recent book reflected in its title, "You
Incorporated". This trend is a clear indication that you must take full responsibility for your life–
long career success and satisfaction. Thus, as with any successful business, individual career

Essentially, you are looking to map relationships between particular aspects of who you are with
aspects of your various work options. Thus, you begin making basic decisions about how your
unique characteristics "fit" with particular functional roles (Finance, Marketing, Consulting, etc.),
within certain industries, and within certain types of organizations. This is based on your unique
interests, values, strengths, characteristics, needs, desires, and potential for adding value. Stage 3
incorporates the basic functional, industry, and organizational decisions of Stage 2 into a long–term

Stage 4 is focused on turning the plan into action. Career implementation is fundamentally a

As we proceed, your first task is to determine at which stage you are in the process. This will allow

Persuasive Essay On How To Dropping Out Of High School
Many people would not put being a dropout and becoming successful in the same category.
However, there are many ways to make something out of your life other than high school. Every
person's grasp for the American dream is slowly coming to a halt as the American lifestyle is
changing ever so quickly. Although public education did not even exist a hundred years ago,
becoming educated in our society is one of the key elements in becoming successful. Public
education rewards many, however, it pushes most into a corner they cannot escape. Being pushed
into a corner of despair and failure is not by any means an ideal lifestyle. Finding an alternate route
other than public education is needed. Before someone decides to drop out of highschool, they better
understand how it could potentially affect them and weigh the decision of whether or not it is the
correct decision for them personally. Although there are countless ways to become successful,
having a basic layout of what to do after dropping out of high school is important. First, decide what
your goals in life are. Next, figure out a way on how to achieve those goals, regardless of how big
they are. Finally, put your mind on the right track and dedicate your potential on your future. Public
High school has been infested with problems since it was created. Although the idea of great public
education is amazing, not everybody can take that path in life successfully. Whether a person be too

What Does Habit 2 Mean
Stephen R. Covey defines the phrase in Habit 2: "begin with the end in mind" as beginning each
day, task, or project with a clear vision of your desired direction and destination, and then continues
by activating your proactive influences to make these things happen. He defines the phrase in Habit
3 "put first things first" as organizing and managing time and events according to the personal
priorities established in Habit 2. In the paper I will explain how these two habits effect will help me
perform in my internship, my personal and professional efforts, and my future career values.
INTERNSHIP PERFORMANCE
Habit 2
Having the ability to plan ahead or begin with the end in mind will play a great part in my internship
experience. I can make a series of correct short–term decisions in order to achieve the long–term
goal. For example, if my supervisor gives me a task with a deadline, this will be the long–term goal.
Keeping this in mind, I will be able to apply the necessary actions (a series short term decisions.)

Purpose Of College Essay
The purpose of college differentiates from person to person, the purpose of college for me is to not

their maximum potential but to become better citizens. This can be achieved in college not only by
our rigorous coursework but by the guidance of our professors.
What portion of college should be dedicated to career preparation? This is an often ignored question
what exactly is career preparation? Simply put it's a developmental process that prepares people for
their future careers. I think career preparation should be personalized for each person. Not only due

and self–generated coping and healing modalities. Working as a health care provider is more than
just a job, it is a career. However, being a reflective nurse is extremely important, "Reflection is an
essential attribute to the development of autonomous, critical and advanced practitioners" (Caldwell
& Grobbel, 2013). It allows for nurses to reflect on the day's practice, whether they treated the
patients with the best possible care or whether improvements were required. Therefore, the purpose
of this paper is to show the significant importance of reflection within the nursing profession. Since
I was a young child, I have wanted to pursue nursing as a career. Nursing is a blend of abstract and
concrete thinking, giving the ability to assist individuals sick or well, in activities to health or
recovery, from birth to death. Many factors came into consideration for choosing nursing as a career.
However, a few main factors included the ability to help others, the ability to travel as a career and
nursing runs in the family. The ability to help others is something that I am passionate about. When I
have been in hospital myself, the care and support I was given by the nurses was excellent, and I
would endeavour future patients to receive the same or better treatment and nurturing care that I
received. Knowing that Australia is a leading quality healthcare provider, but I am keen to

Taking a Gap Year
Many students rush to college right after high school because that is what most students do these
days. Taking a year or two off between high school and college can be more beneficial than most
parents may think. It is also referred to as a gap year. Instead of pushing your children into going to
college right after high school, more parents need to encourage their children to take a break from
school to give them time to become more mature and also time to focus on what they want to do
with their lives in the future. I hope by reading this paper you will understand how a gap year can be
more beneficial to students rather than heading off to college right after high school.
There are so many advantages to taking time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also students who think that the gap year is a great time to be lazy and veg out on the couch are
wrong. This year should be a time to do something gutsy and adventurous in order to find out who
they are and where they want to be in life.
For those of you wondering how to plan for a gap year should first apply to the college of your
choice while still in high school, instead of waiting until the year off. Then after you are accepted,
you should ask for a deferral. It also might be beneficial to check into AmeriCorps or other
volunteer programs about helping with the costs of it. If that isn't a possibility, it might be smart to
sit down with your child and agree on a budget. By doing this, you can work together on a cost–
conscious plan. If all those choices still do not work, you could consider having your student work
half the year to save up for traveling and then travel for the remaining half of the year.
I hope after reading this paper you will be more open to the idea of taking a gap year before
attending college. There are so many decisions to make about your future career and what you want
to spend the rest of your life doing so whatever it may be, the decision should be chosen very
carefully. You are the only person that is in control of your future so follow your dreams and reach
for the sky.

True Beliefs: Author And Professor, William Ralph Inge
First Proposition Paper: True Beliefs "True faith is belief in the reality of absolute values," said
Author and Professor, William Ralph Inge. Everyone has different reasons as to why they believe in
something and why they believe it to be true. I believe that going to college is vital because it is the
foundation on which your future begins and stands. I stand on this belief for a few different reasons
that are all connected. Choosing a major, finding a career that matches your passion, and having
friends. I hold true beliefs in these domains in which I care about because they contribute to your

I believe that you make true friendships that last a lifetime in college. The people that you begin
your college career with (cohort) and are in your same field of study (major), will be the same
familiar faces that you will see in majority of your classes and will most likely graduate with you.
There is nothing better than having people who are going through the same things with you and
being able to help each other. Those are the people we should consider as friends. Having people
who you support and them supporting you all the way through in and out of college is the most
important connection anyone can make. The true belief that I hold in this domain is that having
friends play a vital role in your college experience not only in academics but in your social life
outside of school as well. In conclusion, going to college is very important because it is the start of
your future. Choosing a major, finding a career that matches your passion, and having friends are a
few of the vital factors that play a role in your college experience. I hold true beliefs in each of these
domains that I believe every college student can agree

The Importance Of Classing In High School
It's another day of sitting through seven periods. Seven hours. Seven classes. You find yourself in a
hard chair daydreaming about your future. You think, "How is chemistry going to help me with my
future in graphic designing?" Or maybe you're wondering why it's necessary for you to take that
calculus class, when you want to become an English teacher. There are required classes that students
must take throughout junior high and high school. Why should you waste your time daydreaming in
those classes that don't interest you? Students should get to choose a career track upon entering high
school.
What type of classes are easier to learn from: classes that you have no interest in, or classes that you
find interesting? 1.2 million students per–year drop out of high school in the U.S alone. ("Volunteer
for Social change") This fact shows us that students find going to school as uninteresting and not
useful to their future. Students wouldn't drop out of school, if they found a purpose in the courses
they were taking. Yes, not everything you learn is going to be fun and interesting, but chances are
the classes that you find easy to listen to and learn from, are interesting to you. You can take as
many courses as you wish, but if you don't find interest and daydream through them all, what are
you getting out of it? High school should be enjoyable, not dreaded. When you love and are
passionate what you are learning, the information is much easier to take in. When I get older, I

Explain Why I Want To Be An Obstetrician
Have you thought about your career in the future? Most people in my school know what they want
their career for them to be. For example, my cousin who is now a senior, decided that he wanted to
go to the military, like many other young men. Even I, a twelve year old girl, knows and planned
what she wants to do in the future. I will try really hard to become obstetrician, a type a doctor who
delivers babies. The reason for my choice is because of many things about them except the money.
That is why I always try really hard in school and it pays off. I chose my career, now it is your turn.
One of the reasons I want to be an obstetrician is because I, as any other person, admire there work.
I do not care how much money I will get paid because the only reason I want to be an obstetrician is
because I have always admired them because they are the people who help bring new life into our
world. They also delivered me, and my whole family so I should be thankful for that. If it was not
for them I would not have been on this world and neither would other people and that would not be

has provided me with more knowledge about my future than I could have gotten using Google. One
goal of mine while writing this paper is to show how interested I am about my future. Another goal I
do have is to teach the reader more information about a specific career path. Every individual has
their own career plan, and possibly could be interested in the same career as me. In the CFNC.org
website, there are multiple surveys you can take to get a better feel for what type of career you
might like. During the Career Cluster Survey I honestly had a few difficult decisions. There are tons
of questions so you know your results should be accurate. At the end of your survey you will be
shown a poll with your results. Out of my results, my top three were Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics, Information Technology, and Business Management and
Administration. The career I probably should not go for would consist of Transportation,
Distribution and Logistics. With my results I plan to be a Computer Programmer. CFNC.org also has
another survey I took, the Basic Skills Survey. This survey allows for you to find your best life

Dr Meg Jay Essay
In a TED talk, a psychologist, Dr. Meg Jay discusses how the notion,'30 is the new 20' idea causes
people in their 20's to become indifferent about establishing their careers and personal relationship.
Dr. Jay believes that by making it a society norm people are holding off on opportunities and
accomplishment they can have in their twenties. Dr Jay stated, "When you tell a 20–something they
have ten more years to figure their lives out, you are, in effect, 'robbing that person of his urgency
and ambition". She goes on to describe our twenties as the defining decade of our lives and a key
stage of development. It is important to 'claiming your twenties' by developing those relationship
and building the careers you want. By using your twenties as an extended adolescence', we are
hindering the progress that can be made our twenties. Dr. Jay incudes a 'developmental downtime'
can lead to a person filling unaccomplished and unhappy.
Dr. Jay concludes by stating that '30 is NOT the new 20, 'so claim your adulthood, get some identity
capital, use your weak ties, and pick your family.'

Should Everyone Go To College Analysis
When faced with the question should everyone go to college lots of thoughts starting turning. The

more money in your future career. As well as, the higher degree you earn the more money you are
predicted to make. The Hamilton project is a prime example of the benefits of going to college, by
proving that 23–25 year olds who graduate with a degree from college earn about 46,000 more
dollars by the age of 50 then someone who only gets a high school degree. When most high school

Sports Management Reflection
Question #1 summarize what you learned about yourself in this class.
I found out that I wanted to pursue a degree in sport management. HPS helped me look into possible
career pathways within my major. This class helped me to learn more about future options I may
have in sport management that I had never heard of. When I wrote my HPS 101 papers I ended up
narrowing the list of possible career options for myself.
It allowed me to create a possible four year plan for success as I go through college. My academic
plan taught me about required coursework and internships I must complete before graduation. I now
know some of the options that I have for potential internships. This course was very beneficial as I
transitioned into my freshman year of college. I was walked into college at a pace that was slower
than most other freshman experience in this class to help me transition to college. I never considered
going into other fields related to sport management, but this course opened my eyes to other options.
I will continue to use the lessons that HPS taught me throughout my life in order to have success in
my career. As we progressed through the ethics part of the HPS course my eyes were opened to the
problems that healthcare professionals face on a daily basis. When I found out about all the career
paths in HPS my interest was piqued by all of them that fit me well. I will now pursue one of these
career choices as soon as I graduate from Central Michigan University.

They help you as a student understand what you should be getting out of the classes you are taking besides only memorizing information. They are what you should try and aim to achieve before you leave RVC. One learning outcome that I believe is important is analytic reasoning. Analytic reasoning is necessary to be successful in not only an educational atmosphere, but also in personal and work atmospheres. I believe analytic reasoning is important because it is a method that teaches you to how to use logic to resolve any sort of situation. Please concentrate on how you will use the flexibility afforded by FlexMed, and not on the FlexMed requirements. "What stage is the cancer in?" I asked, supposing I should give the doctor a good first impression with professionality. It was my first day interning at Lopburi Cancer Hospital in Thailand. In my memory, being diagnosed with cancer itself meant death and being able to live longer was all that matters in cancer treatment. However, the doctor refused to answer my question with a simple number, continuing to describe the varies treatments he had used. "I usually check curative (instead of palliative) when I am unsure, so that the patients would feel better." He added before we went on to the next patient. In the two months, rather than merely learning about medical knowledges as I expected, I gained a fresh understanding of healthcare and the importance of health policies. After a week working in the hospital, I went on home visits with nurses, doctors, nutritionists, psychologists and a monk. The first patient lives in a shabby wooden house. A great contrast could be seen between the room that the patient lives in and the rest of the house. "The patient is diagnosed with prostate cancer with bone metastasis. The room is specially built for him by the hospital and his family. He won't live long." A nurse told me. On another visit, I met a man with esophagus cancer. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since school counselors support students in academic, career and college, and social and personal development, school counselors are in key positions to provide students with opportunities, equity, and access to programs that support smooth transitions and college and career readiness (Erford, 2015). Some ways to overcome this is to advocate for students to have rigorous courses that meet the students' needs for their specific goals. Thus, school counselors can help students create personal academic plans that include college and career goals, and then schedule students in classes that will meet their future goals. In addition, the school counselor can provide valuable information to parents and help students that may not have college and career information provided to them at home. In the final week of this course, you will develop a handbook based on one of these constructs. This week, you will choose the construct that you will concentrate on for this project. The construct you choose should be based on the area in which you would most like to develop your knowledge. Your choice should also consider your current interests in psychology and support your future career goals. Identify the audience for your handbook and the main construct in learning and cognition that will provide the focus of your handbook. Explain your motivation for using the chosen construct as your focus subject as well as how this construct aligns with your future career goals. Research five peer–reviewed articles in the Ashford University Library focusing on your chosen construct. These articles must provide sufficient information so that they will support your work in the handbook. • 29. Persuasive Essay On How To Dropping Out Of High School Many people would not put being a dropout and becoming successful in the same category. However, there are many ways to make something out of your life other than high school. Every person's grasp for the American dream is slowly coming to a halt as the American lifestyle is changing ever so quickly. Although public education did not even exist a hundred years ago, becoming educated in our society is one of the key elements in becoming successful. Public education rewards many, however, it pushes most into a corner they cannot escape. Being pushed into a corner of despair and failure is not by any means an ideal lifestyle. Finding an alternate route other than public education is needed. Before someone decides to drop out of highschool, they better understand how it could potentially affect them and weigh the decision of whether or not it is the correct decision for them personally. Although there are countless ways to become successful, having a basic layout of what to do after dropping out of high school is important. First, decide what your goals in life are. Next, figure out a way on how to achieve those goals, regardless of how big they are. Finally, put your mind on the right track and dedicate your potential on your future. Public High school has been infested with problems since it was created. Although the idea of great public education is amazing, not everybody can take that path in life successfully. This is an often ignored question what exactly is career preparation? Simply put it's a developmental process that prepares people for their future careers. I think career preparation should be personalized for each person. The Importance Of Reflection Within The Nursing Profession The fate and future of nursing are now more than ever dependent upon self–care, health promotion and self–generated coping and healing modalities. Working as a health care provider is more than just a job, it is a career. However, being a reflective nurse is extremely important, "Reflection is an essential attribute to the development of autonomous, critical and advanced practitioners" (Caldwell & Grobbel, 2013). It allows for nurses to reflect on the day's practice, whether they treated the patients with the best possible care or whether improvements were required. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to show the significant importance of reflection within the nursing profession. Since I was a young child, I have wanted to pursue nursing as a career. Nursing is a blend of abstract and concrete thinking, giving the ability to assist individuals sick or well, in activities to health or recovery, from birth to death. Many factors came into consideration for choosing nursing as a career. However, a few main factors included the ability to help others, the ability to travel as a career and nursing runs in the family. The ability to help others is something that I am passionate about. When I have been in hospital myself, the care and support I was given by the nurses was excellent, and I would endeavour future patients to receive the same or better treatment and nurturing care that I received. Taking a year or two off between high school and college can be more beneficial than most parents may think. It is also referred to as a gap year. For those of you wondering how to plan for a gap year should first apply to the college of your choice while still in high school, instead of waiting until the year off. Then after you are accepted, you should ask for a deferral. It also might be beneficial to check into AmeriCorps or other volunteer programs about helping with the costs of it. If that isn't a possibility, it might be smart to sit down with your child and agree on a budget. By doing this, you can work together on a cost– conscious plan. If all those choices still do not work, you could consider having your student work half the year to save up for traveling and then travel for the remaining half of the year.
