months for both teams to compete in the Boat
Race every year.

The Boat Race is a historical and national boat race between
2 university teams of Oxford VS Cambridge along the
tidalway of the River Thames between Putney Bridge &
Marlow Bridge.
The Boat Race began in 1859 on the banks of the Thames to
bring a boat race for men and women to compete in. In
1927, the first female team row across the 4.5 mile course.
Today the Boat Race has become one of England’s most
popular boat races in the calendar. The race is broadcasted
on BBC1 between Easter and the first-second week’s of April.
