Finite Element Analysis of RCC Beam with Rectangular Openings Strengthed by D...shaikkhaleel28
Openings in the web of RCC beam provides vital role for the passage of electrical and mechanical passages. Due to the opening in the beam causes the reduction in the stiffness also leads to cracking, more deflection loss of load bearing capacity near the opening of the beam. To avoid these problems strengthening of the opening with different frp’s have tested in this study. A nonlinear geometrical analysis of RCC beam of size 450 by 230 with different size of rectangular openings like 200 by 100, 250 by 100 & 300 by 100 are near to the support are analysed with FEM (Mechanical APDL software) strengthen with different types of frp’s like CFRP, E- GLASS EPOXY, S- GLASS EPOXY, FRP, KELVAR -49 (ARAMID EPOXY) are studied with principal stresses (compressive & tensile), displacement in vertical direction , elastic strain in y direction , shear failure & ultimate load bearing capacity of strengthen beam and un strengthen beam near the opening element of the beam results have been studied. To avoid the shear failure of the beam more shear reinforcement is provided to the beam based on the design approach given by AIJ Architectural Institute of Japan. Using material model like LINK 180 for reinforcement, SOLID 65 for concrete, SOLID 45 for the different types of frp’s, and using of Fe 550 for reinforcement, these models are used for the modelling and meshing of the RCC beam with rectangular opening strengthen with different frp’s. Finally the crack pattern, size of crack load at which shear failure occurred is studied in these under different frp’s strengthening near the element of rectangular opening

The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Additionally, the study provides valuable insights for advancing energy research in economically viable areas. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.
