This document contains a daily lesson plan for a Grade 5 science class. The objectives are for students to understand the properties of materials and determine whether they are useful or harmful. Students will use local recyclable materials to make useful products. The lesson will introduce useful and harmful materials and have students sort materials based on their properties and intended uses. It includes a formative assessment for students to identify appropriate materials for common uses.

Materials are the substances that are used to manufacture products.
Products are the things that we use in our daily lives. Materials have uses
according to their specific properties and/or characteristics. Materials found
