Personal Narrative: My Experience Of Writing
Writing is one of the components in English that gradually took many effort and dedication. My
experience in writing so far has improved. Writing was one of the things, I struggled with in
school. My writings were on topics, books, and poems. In High school, I knew I needed to
improve in writing, so in my Junior and Senior year I took Advanced Placements classes for
English. I do not write very often, but when I do I would write about my experiences in life, my
dreams, and plans for the future. I do not enjoy writing because writing is something I am not
interested and passionate about. Sometimes I would write at home when I am feeling down or
something inspirational comes to my head. My weakness in writing is my organization. When I write,

As the many weeks have passed, and the several eye–opening tutorials have come to completion, I
can presently pronounce some growths, experiences, and insights from my second semester as a
writing tutor. Overall, there has been a positive atmosphere once again throughout the Writing Center
and from all the students who come to visit it. Also, there has been a whopping amount of new
learning styles that I have dealt with in the Writing Center this semester. However, none were so
unique and eye–opening as one particular session that I had a few weeks ago.
For the first time in a while, I had dealt with a nice young boy who was very quite and had a hard
time of fully expressing his thoughts that he had shared with me in his writing. For whatever

This summer was a great learning experience. It was a time filled with new experiences both
professionally and socially. I have never worked in a professional office before and this was a good
introduction to work life. Although I had to adjust to sitting still for up to eight hours a day, I
enjoyed interacting with my co–workers and having a place to focus and work every day.
Additionally, before my internship I hadn't been exposed to many of the tribes in southern Arizona.
Through SWEHSC I traveled and interacted with many tribal communities in southern Arizona. I
have always liked traveling and meeting new people so I had a great time this summer.
I gained a lot of professional skills in my internship. I learned when to dress up and...show more

A very valuable aspect I learned this summer was how to gracefully except criticism. In the past, I
haven't responded to criticism well if it wasn't from someone in my close inner circle. I can take
criticism personally instead of focusing it on my work. My mid–evaluation was a good learning
lesson. I was nervous about the evaluation because I knew I would hear constructive criticism.
But, the meeting went well and I learned valuable information about my performance.
Additionally, when I listened to what my supervisors had to say and implemented their advice, I
found myself doing better. For example, Marti and IngriQue said that I needed to expressive
myself more and not be as passive. When I listened to them, it felt good to express what I was
thinking instead of bottling it up. I really did enjoy my assignments. I particularly liked the tasks
where I could be creative and use the 'right side of the brain'. These assignments were making the
t–shirt design for the AIEA Protecting Our Land summer camp, ITEP video, posters for outreach
events. Additionally, it was always a treat to travel or attend an outreach event. I grew up always
on the road and was happy that after being at school and being confined in a small town in the
woods, I was allowed the opportunity to travel to different parts of the state.
Working with the youth is a passion of mine and that is why I

My Experience that Changed Me– Personal Narrative I went to camp for the first time last summer
to get away from the pressures of home and school. Camp was a month long, I have never been
away from my parents more than a week. I was very anxious. I had no idea what situations to
expect and how I would handle them. I started to really wonder about my life. The way it was
going was not the best for me. I can "run away" from my reality, but I know that I was going to
have to come back to it in a month. The way I treat people was total opposite from how I treated
my parents. What my friends were capable of doing was not a bit close to what my parents would
let me do, my parents are very narrow minded. My grandparents were even more...show more

You don't know what I can do!" said Jenna back to her. She ran to her friend's bunk, Jody didn't
want to make it a big complication out of it so she didn't worry about it. She never got her bunk
changed, but it didn't matter because she would always sleep over her friends' bunk. I wanted to
relax this summer and was not going to let someone give me a hard time, so we never talked
much. Two weeks were nearly over and our parents were going to come visit us in a day or two. I
started to be nice to Jenna and she was nice to me, but I sensed that she didn't want to be friends.
She had a problem with my friend Lauren. At this time we were all ready to kill each other. I
remember an argument that Jenna had with Lauren, they were yelling at each other and it only
got worse by the second. I came up to them and started to hear what they were saying, since I was
on lauren's side, I yelled at Jenna "What is wrong with you!" "You can't yell at me like that, you
don't know who I am!" said Jenna Then I said "I don't care who you are" "I can make your life
miserable" she said. At this point I was thinking to myself that this girl has major problems thinking
she can do and say whatever she wants. I started to feel sorry for her. "I

Narrative Writing By Mckenzee My most significant experience in my life is unforgettable. I was
there with my sisters, my mom, and my dad. It was the most horrifying event that I have ever
witnessed. The daunting image in my head is still clear as day, as though it happened yesterday.
This event did not affect only me, but also my family. The story that I am about to tell you may
change the way you see things and it may not. All I can say is, it...show more content...
Everything certainly did not go as planned.
The ideal time to ride came rolling around at approximately six o'clock, when a chilly breeze
picked up. Unprepared and starting to shiver, my older sister notified us that she was going to
grab her coat from the house. She left my younger sister and I to deal with the horses which was
easy, or so we thought that it was. Assuming that it was going to be an effortless task, I took my
attention gradually away from the horses, and commenced a conversation with my sister. Totally
forgetting about what I was supposed to be doing, I did not perceive that Dexter spooked and
pulled back on the board that he was attached to. Turning around and seeing him rear up on his
hind feet, shocked me and I froze. My mind went blank for a second, and when it came back,
Dexter was darting so rapidly you would assume a bear was chasing him. I could see the fear in
his eyes. He was terrified of the post he was dragging behind him. Not knowing what to do, I
immediately yelled at the top of my lungs for my older sister. Never in my life has my heart
beated so fast. Freaking out, panicking, stressing out, I attempted to grab Dexter's lead rope, but
him being a thoroughbred caused an issue. He was too quick for me to even get near him. I knew I
had to something to calm him down, I didn't want him to get hurt. This horse means the world to my
sister, and I want to slow him down

My Writing Experiences My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the
basics of writing, like putting together sentences, forming paragraphs with sentences, and things
like that. Since I have been taking college English, I can tell my writing has improved a lot. In the
future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers,
documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I
predict I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from college. Writing in the past started in
kindergarten. My teacher taught me how to write my name over and over until I could write it with

I need to learn to quit thinking as much on what I want to write about and how to write about a topic
and just starting jotting stuff down in outline form as it comes to mind. Run–ons and fragments I
need to be able to spot and fix right away or I really need to not have any in my papers at all. My
goals are to write papers and not have to reassure myself that maybe I need to do more research or
have more data or even have to rethink my whole topic over. I would love to have the knowledge
to be a tutor someday and teach other people how to properly write papers, paragraphs, essays,
and maybe even books. To have excellent skills in writing will definitely be a great advantage in
my nursing profession. In nursing, I will have to do lots of charting on my patients. I will have to
do health presentations on various subjects such as exercising, how our society eats, and sex
education if I want to be a course instructor. Researching information on all of those topics I will
have to make sure I do an excellent job on and collect accurate information and statistics so that I
can compare to other sources. Dictating to the doctor means that I will need to write properly so
that he understands what I am saying. Other nurses will have to be able to understand what I am
talking about by my writing skills when doing shift changes. I will have to be very precise so that
other nurses will not

I was assigned to write a personal narrative about an experience from high school. I could really
use some help with organization and would love to have someone proofread it for me. I have
obviously not finished, but I really need to go to sleep and would just like some outside feedback
as soon as possible My heart was pounding, my palms were sweaty and I had begun to feel sick. I
could feel everyone's eyes on my back as the sound of my footsteps resounded through the gym. I
could see him sitting at his table looking over wrestling statistics and, he had not looked up yet.
Thoughts and emotions churned inside my head, turning my mind a tangled mass. I could no
longer think straight, all I could do was keep walking forward. Why was I making such a big deal
out of it? My task was simple, all I had to do was say, "Coach Carr, I quit" It was only my third year

but What really made up my mind was When I asked myself "Who am I doing this for?" I could
no longer convince mysel that winning a state championship was worth the effort. I didn't think
were the ring and the patch really worth it This single event changed everything about me, I
thought but I quit became a very common word in my vocabulary, If I couldn't see a point to
wrestling, how many other things were there that I didn't want to do, and it only went downhill
from there. I have always been lazy, and loved to procrastinate, but for the first time I let of course

There have been many personal experiences throughout my life. Many good ones and many bad
ones, but overall they were memorable in some type of way. Things like going to football games,
going to Puerto Rico and more, but my favorite experience was winning a football tournament.
Well now I'm going to tell you about my personal experience about this exciting moment. To begin
with, it all started with my coach giving us a chance to enter this 4 team football tournament in
Sarasota. The teams included the undefeated Sarasota Redskins, who was hosting it, the Brandon
Bulls, the Bradenton Gators and of course my team the North East Rattlers. So the committee got
the bracket setup and they put us against the Redskins. Though the Redskins had home field
advantage we liked the challenge, but they also played year round, and have never lost a game in
three years. As we get set and ready to play we all do book checks to make sure everybody is legal
to play and we were to meet up it was their 40 man roster versus our 12 man roster. We left nervous
when we saw them because of the player difference. The Redskin players laughed when they saw
us and we didn't take that politely. So after we got checked for books we exercised and then
headed onto the field. Nevertheless, I look back into the bleachers there were only a few parents
that showed up for us, but on the other side their bleachers were loud and full of people. The refs
called for the captain's, me and two other teammates went up

Personal Narrative My Life
I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I
wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I
entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that
college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I
go instead of someone choosing for me.
I have chosen to go to the local community college to get used to the college experience. College
life can be an exciting time but at the same time it can be a challenge. I feel that starting out at the
community college would be a better chose than "jumping" into life at a...show more content...
I know this is what I want to do with my life. I want to be a positive influence in the lives of
children. I want to be able to stand up and show the children that it is okay to be yourself and
stand up for what you believe in. I am a well round student. For nine years I was actively involved
in a girls organization. This experience taught me many things. We were actively involved in
community service activities, for which I received the Silver Award. ( The second highest award
in the organization.) I learned about the value of friendship and patients with others. This
organization first introduced me to my future career. I was also involved for three and a half years
in a student government club on campus. In this club I learned many life lessons. One of which
was the value of hard work. I was one of the few people that organized the Junior/Senior Prom of
2000. My responsibilities included planning corranation, buying and organizing decorations,
planning the busing schedule, booking the photographers, fundraising, ect. This taught me about
hard work. But the best part of it was going to Prom knowing I was one of the only reasons that it
happened. As far as school goes, my schedule is very diverse. I am taking child development lab,
which is a class where students from my high school can go to the local elementary schools and
work one on one with the students. I have work in the elementary school for two and a half years. I

My Fear- Personal Narrative Essay
My Fear– Personal Narrative Every child, teenager and adult has experienced anxiety, fear or
worry at some time in their lives. Everyone has their own phobias. Some are just temporary
whereas others just linger, haunting them forever. Life allows us each of us to experience
challenges in our own way. But when these challenges become almost impossible to complete,
they become long term problems. When faced with fear, one looks for the easiest route out, but
in my case, there were no signposts. There is one part of my life that I vividly recall. I don't really
know when or how it started. Maybe I'd had it all my life or maybe it developed at a certain age.
Perhaps, that will remain an unsolved...show more content...
I didn't know why this was happening and felt that I had no control over my thoughts or fears. By
this stage, I would have persistent nightmares of my house burning down where everyone in the
building would escape, with the exception of me. I remember how I felt after being awoken by
the fear of death. It was a feeling of confusion and I didn't know why this was happening. My
phobia totally disabled me and at the time I found it difficult to relax. I live alone with my mum
and she was unaware of what I was secretly going through. At the time, I never really opened my
eyes to the fact that I had a problem. I told myself that it was just a phase and that I was fine but
deep down I think I always knew that this was untrue. Another habit of mine was counting
syllables of words. Whenever I would see a shop sign I would count the syllables of the words
written and would ensure that the number of syllables did not exceed sixteen (my favourite
number). One evening, a friend of mine had visited my home for dinner and I could do nothing
but worry about the food overcooking and causing a fire. It would not leave my mind and was all
that I could think of. That is when I noticed that my actions were odd. I almost immediately logged
on to the internet and searched for fire related obsessions.

An Experience That Changed My Life Essay
Introduction:
In life we all have something that has changed the way we perceive things. Most things that
change a person's perception happens to be an experience that they have gone thru and learned
from. In my case it wasn't necessarily an experience, it was a dog that changed my perception on
life. My mind and heart was opened in a whole new way. I never thought I could love an animal just
as much as I loved the people in my life. I always thought it was strange that pet owners loved and
treated their pets the same way they treated their children. My perception on dogs or pets in general
definitely changed. Throughout this paper you will see why I am a totally different person because
of a dog that entered my life.

The funniest thing is; she never turned to the left. She would always make circular movements to
the left in a quick fashion. Seeing this made my so happy. I would find myself looking forward to
it when I was parking the car in the driveway. Tacha was one greedy dog too, she knew that she
was not allowed in the kitchen, but the second she thought someone wasn't looking she would run
in the kitchen and snatch whatever was left out on the counter. One time I remember ordering
Pizza and the family was all in the dining room eating, and when my son went to grab another
piece he noticed that the entire box was on the floor, and the pizza was gone. To our surprise
Tacha ate all the pizza. My family would always find this funny, but there were plenty of nights
when we couldn't get seconds on dinner because it was in Tachas belly. Tacha was a smart dog,
she was also aware that she was not allowed to get on any of the beds in the house. This didn't stop
her though. On several occasions one of us would walk in the house, and within 1 second we
would hear a loud thump and Tacha running down the stairs. The loud thump was Tacha jumping
off the bed. Times were not always so funny with Tacha, but I never loved her any less. One day
Tacha was in the back yard getting some fresh air. I recall attaching her to the chain and going back
in the house. About 1 hour later, the neighbor was banging on my front door screaming, "Come get
your dog, come get your dog, she's chasing

Narrative Essay On A Day At Home
It was a normal Friday spent at home. Not many of my childhood experiences can I recall a clear
enough picture of every detail like I can with this one. The start of the day was like any other. It
was a nice, sunny, and calm morning. I slept in, ate a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast, and got
changed into my favorite pair of shorts with a tank top. My parents were not home because they
were on vacation in Florida. My sister was in her room, so I decided to invite my friend Brooke

hanging out and doing typical twelve–year old girl stuff. I remember giving each other makeovers,

do." My mom began asking me questions, wondering where my sister was or what time the alarm
went off. She talked to my dad and he was going to have my uncle come check on us. Repeatedly
my mom said, "Do not hang up the phone and keep talking to me." Brooke and I moved to a more
hidden area in the storage room so that we were less seen. We were crying continuously. The
alarm had stopped after several minutes but that did not stop us from thinking the harm was
gone. I was still on the phone with my mom and she told me that my uncle was on his way. While
patiently waiting, we heard sounds coming from upstairs. Both of us were uncertain which
sounds were actually real or in our imagination. I heard what seemed to be footsteps across the
kitchen floor. Still not knowing what or who it was, we did not move a muscle. Our bodies were
sitting in silence; but our hearts were beating faster than ever. All of the sudden I heard someone
yell, "Hey Janelle and Brooke, you can come out now!" At that moment I had a sense of relief go

My Reading and Writing Experience over the Years
Literacy Narrative: My Reading and Writing Experience over the Years
I have never been the type of student who enjoyed reading or writing. I have always found it
difficult to express myself by writing narratives, book reports, and any other required assignment. I
am far more skilled at speaking or verbal expression in general as I have found over the years that
people tend to misunderstand my point if it is written.
When I sit to write, I have to think about what I want to say. This is not easy for me as I tend to
think about several things at once. Clearing my mind and focusing on the writing task is a challenge
in itself. I do not consider myself a strong writer and find it intimidating especially when I know it
will be critiqued. The sense of failure when seeing the paper I worked so hard on look like the
newest local headline of a recent murder is disheartening for me. I assume I am being overly
critical of myself but those feelings seem to be redeemed when I look over the aftermath of what
was my wonderful work of mental art.
The irony of all of this is I write many different things in my current job. One any given day I draft
contracts, amendments, and addendums to name a few. I have learned a great deal from my bosses
and mentors which has made me a better writer and more aware of my grammar and proofreading
of work. My Vice President is an attorney and English major with a keen ability to find the minutest
errors. I try to take any criticism

Personal Narrative: My Experience with Gender Roles
A secret agent. A professional football player. A fire fighter. These would have been my responses
when asked that inevitable question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Family, Media
and Peers are said to have influenced my views concerning the role I am to play society. All of these
factors had one thing in common. They all were influencing me to behave according to my gender.
Everything from the clothes I wore to the toys I played with contributed to this. Even now as a
young adult my dreams and aspirations are built around the gender roles that were placed on me.
There were several instances in my childhood when my Family had a direct influence on me

The main character Fred Flinstone is the head of the family. He is the one who earns the money
to support the family. His wife Wilma takes care of things such as house work and raising the
children. Finally, my peers as a child also had a large influence on me. Because other children my
age were also being raised with gender roles, when they came to school or over to my house to
play, the toys they brought would be results of gender roles. When we interacted socially we would
play with trucks and army men. Parents would not give their sons dolls or dress–up games, because
they were trying to teach us to become the stereotypical adult male. As you can see, my childhood
dreams were greatly influenced by my family, media and peers in a way that is a direct result of
gender roles.
As I enter my early years of college, I am forced to deal with the fact I should know what I want to
do with the rest of my life, or at least have a solid plan. I wish I could say that I have totally
matured from my childish dreams of professional athleticism, but I haven't. Currently my aspirations
for life not only include becoming successful in academics, but athletics as well. Now that I know
the sociological theories behind gender roles I can pick out things that are still pushing me towards
that stereotypical male figure I was raised to become. Now the influences have matured from
cartoons to the government. Upon

Personal Narrative: A Personal Experience
I struggled to identify a personal experience that impact my life as the topic for this paper. After
days of thought about the assignment, I sat down to write, but I ended up staring at a blank
computer screen for a long time. I thought to myself, I am struggling. This thought prompted me to
think of all the times that I had struggled in my life. I remembered struggling in basketball, school,
and everyday life. As I thought about them, I realized that I got through them and benefitted from the
experiences. Pushing myself to my limits, looking for ways to get better, and refusing to quit had
produced some good results in my life. People tend to associate struggling as a bad thing because it
is a difficult experience usually filled with frustration. That can be true, but it can also lead to
positive changes in life. I wanted to show how struggling with something can have positive results.

The problem with that strategy was that it did not allow me to dive deep enough into the
experience to allow the reader to gain the knowledge of my feelings. After receiving feedback on
my that draft, I knew that I had to go in a different direction. I picked just one experience and
really went into depth with it. This allowed me to be able to share with the reader a true sense of
nervousness, frustration, satisfaction, relief, and joy. I was able to take the reader on the journey
from the start to the end. After reading my paper, I wanted the reader to realize that everyone
struggles in many ways. It is how a person reacts to the struggle that matters. It was through this
experience that I became a better student and person. As a reader, did this cause you to think of your
own experiences with struggle? Do you see how struggling could benefit a person? Did you feel my

My Personal Experience With Literacy
Literacy is defined as being literate, that is, being able to read and write in a language. My
personal experience with literacy began at an early age, at the age of 4 when I began to sit and
read words and letters in the back of my mother's car. Soon enough, she would bring me a magazine
called "Majed" which, in the 90's, was a popular magazine. With this, I began even more interested in
reading and writing and reviewed every word in the magazine associated with each of the short
pictured stories. It was the first memory I deeply recall of literacy and it was what laid the foundation
for my personal love of reading and writing. The methodology used for this is an interview. There are
three interviews which are analyzed and brought together in the form of a narrative. This narrative
serves to better explain the emotions and thoughts that the interviewees had about the idea of literacy.
The first interviewee is one of my classmates who was asked a series of questions about literacy.
My classmates stated that "When I was child I use to wrote any words I saw in the newspaper, but
just copy the words without knows the meaning. After that my mother saw my, she asks me. Do you
know the meaning of this words? I said not, in this day, my mother start to taught me how to read
and write." When asked about which areas were most interesting my classmate stated that they read
romantic books, dramas, fantasy books, and history.
But it was not always easy for them. My classmate stated

My Reading & Writing Experience My experiences as a writer have been both very engrossing
and strenuous. I have learned a great quantity on both reading and writing, though, I continue to
struggle on things that I have learned by this time, making the same mistakes that I do not even

wording of an article is difficult for example. I love the idea of learning new things everyday.
These past years as a writer have been very interesting, and I have learned and grasped many
concepts I have been taught along the way.
Weaknesses I have had difficulty on is having to write essays. Every time my teachers assign me
work to perform that involves writing an essay for instance, I tend to get frustrated. I would often
spend hours trying to craft an idea on what to write about and how I should word it in my essay. An
additional problem is when I read the paper to myself and looks fine, but when I turn the paper over
to someone else, they do not find the point I was trying to convey. Then, I would have to verbally
express the key ideas or meaning of the essay. My next two weaknesses are the ones that I still

How To Write A Narrative Essay About An Experience

  • 1. Personal Narrative: My Experience Of Writing Writing is one of the components in English that gradually took many effort and dedication. My experience in writing so far has improved. Writing was one of the things, I struggled with in school. My writings were on topics, books, and poems. In High school, I knew I needed to improve in writing, so in my Junior and Senior year I took Advanced Placements classes for English. I do not write very often, but when I do I would write about my experiences in life, my dreams, and plans for the future. I do not enjoy writing because writing is something I am not interested and passionate about. Sometimes I would write at home when I am feeling down or something inspirational comes to my head. My weakness in writing is my organization. When I write, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. As the many weeks have passed, and the several eye–opening tutorials have come to completion, I can presently pronounce some growths, experiences, and insights from my second semester as a writing tutor. Overall, there has been a positive atmosphere once again throughout the Writing Center and from all the students who come to visit it. Also, there has been a whopping amount of new learning styles that I have dealt with in the Writing Center this semester. However, none were so unique and eye–opening as one particular session that I had a few weeks ago. For the first time in a while, I had dealt with a nice young boy who was very quite and had a hard time of fully expressing his thoughts that he had shared with me in his writing. • 3. This summer was a great learning experience. It was a time filled with new experiences both professionally and socially. I have never worked in a professional office before and this was a good introduction to work life. Although I had to adjust to sitting still for up to eight hours a day, I enjoyed interacting with my co–workers and having a place to focus and work every day. Additionally, before my internship I hadn't been exposed to many of the tribes in southern Arizona. Through SWEHSC I traveled and interacted with many tribal communities in southern Arizona. I have always liked traveling and meeting new people so I had a great time this summer. I gained a lot of professional skills in my internship. I learned when to dress up and...show more content... A very valuable aspect I learned this summer was how to gracefully except criticism. In the past, I haven't responded to criticism well if it wasn't from someone in my close inner circle. I can take criticism personally instead of focusing it on my work. My mid–evaluation was a good learning lesson. I was nervous about the evaluation because I knew I would hear constructive criticism. But, the meeting went well and I learned valuable information about my performance. Additionally, when I listened to what my supervisors had to say and implemented their advice, I found myself doing better. For example, Marti and IngriQue said that I needed to expressive myself more and not be as passive. When I listened to them, it felt good to express what I was thinking instead of bottling it up. I really did enjoy my assignments. I particularly liked the tasks where I could be creative and use the 'right side of the brain'. These assignments were making the t–shirt design for the AIEA Protecting Our Land summer camp, ITEP video, posters for outreach events. Additionally, it was always a treat to travel or attend an outreach event. I grew up always on the road and was happy that after being at school and being confined in a small town in the woods, I was allowed the opportunity to travel to different parts of the state. Working with the youth is a passion of mine and that is why I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Experience that Changed Me– Personal Narrative I went to camp for the first time last summer to get away from the pressures of home and school. Camp was a month long, I have never been away from my parents more than a week. I was very anxious. I had no idea what situations to expect and how I would handle them. I started to really wonder about my life. The way it was going was not the best for me. I can "run away" from my reality, but I know that I was going to have to come back to it in a month. The way I treat people was total opposite from how I treated my parents. What my friends were capable of doing was not a bit close to what my parents would let me do, my parents are very narrow minded. My grandparents were even more...show more content... You don't know what I can do!" said Jenna back to her. She ran to her friend's bunk, Jody didn't want to make it a big complication out of it so she didn't worry about it. She never got her bunk changed, but it didn't matter because she would always sleep over her friends' bunk. I wanted to relax this summer and was not going to let someone give me a hard time, so we never talked much. Two weeks were nearly over and our parents were going to come visit us in a day or two. I started to be nice to Jenna and she was nice to me, but I sensed that she didn't want to be friends. She had a problem with my friend Lauren. At this time we were all ready to kill each other. I remember an argument that Jenna had with Lauren, they were yelling at each other and it only got worse by the second. I came up to them and started to hear what they were saying, since I was on lauren's side, I yelled at Jenna "What is wrong with you!" "You can't yell at me like that, you don't know who I am!" said Jenna Then I said "I don't care who you are" "I can make your life miserable" she said. At this point I was thinking to myself that this girl has major problems thinking she can do and say whatever she wants. I started to feel sorry for her. "I Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I hated those days of my life, but that was one way i had learn and get better and it helped me a lot from 5th grade all the way Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Narrative Writing By Mckenzee My most significant experience in my life is unforgettable. I was there with my sisters, my mom, and my dad. It was the most horrifying event that I have ever witnessed. The daunting image in my head is still clear as day, as though it happened yesterday. This event did not affect only me, but also my family. The story that I am about to tell you may change the way you see things and it may not. All I can say is, it...show more content... Everything certainly did not go as planned. The ideal time to ride came rolling around at approximately six o'clock, when a chilly breeze picked up. Unprepared and starting to shiver, my older sister notified us that she was going to grab her coat from the house. She left my younger sister and I to deal with the horses which was easy, or so we thought that it was. Assuming that it was going to be an effortless task, I took my attention gradually away from the horses, and commenced a conversation with my sister. Totally forgetting about what I was supposed to be doing, I did not perceive that Dexter spooked and pulled back on the board that he was attached to. Turning around and seeing him rear up on his hind feet, shocked me and I froze. My mind went blank for a second, and when it came back, Dexter was darting so rapidly you would assume a bear was chasing him. I could see the fear in his eyes. He was terrified of the post he was dragging behind him. Not knowing what to do, I immediately yelled at the top of my lungs for my older sister. Never in my life has my heart beated so fast. Freaking out, panicking, stressing out, I attempted to grab Dexter's lead rope, but him being a thoroughbred caused an issue. He was too quick for me to even get near him. I knew I had to something to calm him down, I didn't want him to get hurt. This horse means the world to my sister, and I want to slow him down Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Essay on Writing Experience My Writing Experiences My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the basics of writing, like putting together sentences, forming paragraphs with sentences, and things like that. Since I have been taking college English, I can tell my writing has improved a lot. In the future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers, documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I predict I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from college. Writing in the past started in kindergarten. My teacher taught me how to write my name over and over until I could write it with no errors. All through elementary my teachers taught me...show more content... I need to learn to quit thinking as much on what I want to write about and how to write about a topic and just starting jotting stuff down in outline form as it comes to mind. Run–ons and fragments I need to be able to spot and fix right away or I really need to not have any in my papers at all. My goals are to write papers and not have to reassure myself that maybe I need to do more research or have more data or even have to rethink my whole topic over. I would love to have the knowledge to be a tutor someday and teach other people how to properly write papers, paragraphs, essays, and maybe even books. To have excellent skills in writing will definitely be a great advantage in my nursing profession. In nursing, I will have to do lots of charting on my patients. I will have to do health presentations on various subjects such as exercising, how our society eats, and sex education if I want to be a course instructor. Researching information on all of those topics I will have to make sure I do an excellent job on and collect accurate information and statistics so that I can compare to other sources. Dictating to the doctor means that I will need to write properly so that he understands what I am saying. Other nurses will have to be able to understand what I am talking about by my writing skills when doing shift changes. I will have to be very precise so that other nurses will not Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. I was assigned to write a personal narrative about an experience from high school. I could really use some help with organization and would love to have someone proofread it for me. I have obviously not finished, but I really need to go to sleep and would just like some outside feedback as soon as possible My heart was pounding, my palms were sweaty and I had begun to feel sick. I could feel everyone's eyes on my back as the sound of my footsteps resounded through the gym. I could see him sitting at his table looking over wrestling statistics and, he had not looked up yet. Thoughts and emotions churned inside my head, turning my mind a tangled mass. I could no longer think straight, all I could do was keep walking forward. Why was I making such a big deal out of it? My task was simple, all I had to do was say, "Coach Carr, I quit" It was only my third year ...show more content... I could still turn back, Each step became harder as I thought about leaving. It would be so easy. I could walk away and simply avoid him until everyone forgot I had ever been on the team. I could deal with physical exhaustion, and the ridiculous amounts of time that II gave up for wrestling but What really made up my mind was When I asked myself "Who am I doing this for?" I could no longer convince mysel that winning a state championship was worth the effort. I didn't think were the ring and the patch really worth it This single event changed everything about me, I thought but I quit became a very common word in my vocabulary, If I couldn't see a point to wrestling, how many other things were there that I didn't want to do, and it only went downhill from there. I have always been lazy, and loved to procrastinate, but for the first time I let of course I have more time to think and learn, I can relax and enjoy things I hadn't before but I soon realized that my free time wasn't as great without anything to compare it Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. There have been many personal experiences throughout my life. Many good ones and many bad ones, but overall they were memorable in some type of way. Things like going to football games, going to Puerto Rico and more, but my favorite experience was winning a football tournament. Well now I'm going to tell you about my personal experience about this exciting moment. To begin with, it all started with my coach giving us a chance to enter this 4 team football tournament in Sarasota. The teams included the undefeated Sarasota Redskins, who was hosting it, the Brandon Bulls, the Bradenton Gators and of course my team the North East Rattlers. So the committee got the bracket setup and they put us against the Redskins. Though the Redskins had home field advantage we liked the challenge, but they also played year round, and have never lost a game in three years. As we get set and ready to play we all do book checks to make sure everybody is legal to play and we were to meet up it was their 40 man roster versus our 12 man roster. We left nervous when we saw them because of the player difference. The Redskin players laughed when they saw us and we didn't take that politely. So after we got checked for books we exercised and then headed onto the field. Nevertheless, I look back into the bleachers there were only a few parents that showed up for us, but on the other side their bleachers were loud and full of people. The refs called for the captain's, me and two other teammates went up Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Personal Narrative My Life Essay Personal Narrative My Life I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me. I have chosen to go to the local community college to get used to the college experience. College life can be an exciting time but at the same time it can be a challenge. I feel that starting out at the community college would be a better chose than "jumping" into life at a...show more content... I know this is what I want to do with my life. I want to be a positive influence in the lives of children. I want to be able to stand up and show the children that it is okay to be yourself and stand up for what you believe in. I am a well round student. For nine years I was actively involved in a girls organization. This experience taught me many things. We were actively involved in community service activities, for which I received the Silver Award. ( The second highest award in the organization.) I learned about the value of friendship and patients with others. This organization first introduced me to my future career. I was also involved for three and a half years in a student government club on campus. In this club I learned many life lessons. One of which was the value of hard work. I was one of the few people that organized the Junior/Senior Prom of 2000. My responsibilities included planning corranation, buying and organizing decorations, planning the busing schedule, booking the photographers, fundraising, ect. This taught me about hard work. But the best part of it was going to Prom knowing I was one of the only reasons that it happened. As far as school goes, my schedule is very diverse. I am taking child development lab, which is a class where students from my high school can go to the local elementary schools and work one on one with the students. I have work in the elementary school for two and a half years. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Fear- Personal Narrative Essay My Fear– Personal Narrative Every child, teenager and adult has experienced anxiety, fear or worry at some time in their lives. Everyone has their own phobias. Some are just temporary whereas others just linger, haunting them forever. Life allows us each of us to experience challenges in our own way. But when these challenges become almost impossible to complete, they become long term problems. When faced with fear, one looks for the easiest route out, but in my case, there were no signposts. There is one part of my life that I vividly recall. I don't really know when or how it started. Maybe I'd had it all my life or maybe it developed at a certain age. Perhaps, that will remain an unsolved...show more content... I didn't know why this was happening and felt that I had no control over my thoughts or fears. By this stage, I would have persistent nightmares of my house burning down where everyone in the building would escape, with the exception of me. I remember how I felt after being awoken by the fear of death. It was a feeling of confusion and I didn't know why this was happening. My phobia totally disabled me and at the time I found it difficult to relax. I live alone with my mum and she was unaware of what I was secretly going through. At the time, I never really opened my eyes to the fact that I had a problem. I told myself that it was just a phase and that I was fine but deep down I think I always knew that this was untrue. Another habit of mine was counting syllables of words. Whenever I would see a shop sign I would count the syllables of the words written and would ensure that the number of syllables did not exceed sixteen (my favourite number). One evening, a friend of mine had visited my home for dinner and I could do nothing but worry about the food overcooking and causing a fire. It would not leave my mind and was all that I could think of. That is when I noticed that my actions were odd. I almost immediately logged on to the internet and searched for fire related obsessions. • 12. An Experience That Changed My Life Essay Introduction: In life we all have something that has changed the way we perceive things. Most things that change a person's perception happens to be an experience that they have gone thru and learned from. In my case it wasn't necessarily an experience, it was a dog that changed my perception on life. My mind and heart was opened in a whole new way. I never thought I could love an animal just as much as I loved the people in my life. I always thought it was strange that pet owners loved and treated their pets the same way they treated their children. My perception on dogs or pets in general definitely changed. Throughout this paper you will see why I am a totally different person because of a dog that entered my life. People say a man's...show more content... The funniest thing is; she never turned to the left. She would always make circular movements to the left in a quick fashion. Seeing this made my so happy. I would find myself looking forward to it when I was parking the car in the driveway. Tacha was one greedy dog too, she knew that she was not allowed in the kitchen, but the second she thought someone wasn't looking she would run in the kitchen and snatch whatever was left out on the counter. One time I remember ordering Pizza and the family was all in the dining room eating, and when my son went to grab another piece he noticed that the entire box was on the floor, and the pizza was gone. To our surprise Tacha ate all the pizza. My family would always find this funny, but there were plenty of nights when we couldn't get seconds on dinner because it was in Tachas belly. Tacha was a smart dog, she was also aware that she was not allowed to get on any of the beds in the house. This didn't stop her though. On several occasions one of us would walk in the house, and within 1 second we would hear a loud thump and Tacha running down the stairs. The loud thump was Tacha jumping off the bed. Times were not always so funny with Tacha, but I never loved her any less. One day Tacha was in the back yard getting some fresh air. I recall attaching her to the chain and going back in the house. About 1 hour later, the neighbor was banging on my front door screaming, "Come get your dog, come get your dog, she's chasing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Narrative Essay On A Day At Home It was a normal Friday spent at home. Not many of my childhood experiences can I recall a clear enough picture of every detail like I can with this one. The start of the day was like any other. It was a nice, sunny, and calm morning. I slept in, ate a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast, and got changed into my favorite pair of shorts with a tank top. My parents were not home because they were on vacation in Florida. My sister was in her room, so I decided to invite my friend Brooke over to spend the night. It was around noon when she was dropped off. We spent the whole afternoon hanging out and doing typical twelve–year old girl stuff. I remember giving each other makeovers, riding the four–wheeler around the yard, jumping on the trampoline,...show more content... Thankfully, my mom answered on the first ring. "Hey sweetie how is everything going?" my mom asked. Cutting her off quickly I replied, "Mom, something is wrong. I think someone is breaking in. The alarm is going off and Brooke and I are in the basement. We don't know what to do." My mom began asking me questions, wondering where my sister was or what time the alarm went off. She talked to my dad and he was going to have my uncle come check on us. Repeatedly my mom said, "Do not hang up the phone and keep talking to me." Brooke and I moved to a more hidden area in the storage room so that we were less seen. We were crying continuously. The alarm had stopped after several minutes but that did not stop us from thinking the harm was gone. I was still on the phone with my mom and she told me that my uncle was on his way. While patiently waiting, we heard sounds coming from upstairs. Both of us were uncertain which sounds were actually real or in our imagination. I heard what seemed to be footsteps across the kitchen floor. Still not knowing what or who it was, we did not move a muscle. Our bodies were sitting in silence; but our hearts were beating faster than ever. All of the sudden I heard someone yell, "Hey Janelle and Brooke, you can come out now!" At that moment I had a sense of relief go through my body as I recognized the familiar Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. My Reading and Writing Experience over the Years Literacy Narrative: My Reading and Writing Experience over the Years I have never been the type of student who enjoyed reading or writing. I have always found it difficult to express myself by writing narratives, book reports, and any other required assignment. I am far more skilled at speaking or verbal expression in general as I have found over the years that people tend to misunderstand my point if it is written. When I sit to write, I have to think about what I want to say. This is not easy for me as I tend to think about several things at once. Clearing my mind and focusing on the writing task is a challenge in itself. I do not consider myself a strong writer and find it intimidating especially when I know it will be critiqued. The sense of failure when seeing the paper I worked so hard on look like the newest local headline of a recent murder is disheartening for me. I assume I am being overly critical of myself but those feelings seem to be redeemed when I look over the aftermath of what was my wonderful work of mental art. The irony of all of this is I write many different things in my current job. One any given day I draft contracts, amendments, and addendums to name a few. I have learned a great deal from my bosses and mentors which has made me a better writer and more aware of my grammar and proofreading of work. My Vice President is an attorney and English major with a keen ability to find the minutest errors. I try to take any criticism Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Personal Narrative: My Experience with Gender Roles A secret agent. A professional football player. A fire fighter. These would have been my responses when asked that inevitable question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Family, Media and Peers are said to have influenced my views concerning the role I am to play society. All of these factors had one thing in common. They all were influencing me to behave according to my gender. Everything from the clothes I wore to the toys I played with contributed to this. Even now as a young adult my dreams and aspirations are built around the gender roles that were placed on me. There were several instances in my childhood when my Family had a direct influence on me according to...show more content... The main character Fred Flinstone is the head of the family. He is the one who earns the money to support the family. His wife Wilma takes care of things such as house work and raising the children. Finally, my peers as a child also had a large influence on me. Because other children my age were also being raised with gender roles, when they came to school or over to my house to play, the toys they brought would be results of gender roles. When we interacted socially we would play with trucks and army men. Parents would not give their sons dolls or dress–up games, because they were trying to teach us to become the stereotypical adult male. As you can see, my childhood dreams were greatly influenced by my family, media and peers in a way that is a direct result of gender roles. As I enter my early years of college, I am forced to deal with the fact I should know what I want to do with the rest of my life, or at least have a solid plan. I wish I could say that I have totally matured from my childish dreams of professional athleticism, but I haven't. Currently my aspirations for life not only include becoming successful in academics, but athletics as well. Now that I know the sociological theories behind gender roles I can pick out things that are still pushing me towards that stereotypical male figure I was raised to become. Now the influences have matured from cartoons to the government. Upon Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Personal Narrative: A Personal Experience I struggled to identify a personal experience that impact my life as the topic for this paper. After days of thought about the assignment, I sat down to write, but I ended up staring at a blank computer screen for a long time. I thought to myself, I am struggling. This thought prompted me to think of all the times that I had struggled in my life. I remembered struggling in basketball, school, and everyday life. As I thought about them, I realized that I got through them and benefitted from the experiences. Pushing myself to my limits, looking for ways to get better, and refusing to quit had produced some good results in my life. People tend to associate struggling as a bad thing because it is a difficult experience usually filled with frustration. That can be true, but it can also lead to positive changes in life. I wanted to show how struggling with something can have positive results. ...show more content... The problem with that strategy was that it did not allow me to dive deep enough into the experience to allow the reader to gain the knowledge of my feelings. After receiving feedback on my that draft, I knew that I had to go in a different direction. I picked just one experience and really went into depth with it. This allowed me to be able to share with the reader a true sense of nervousness, frustration, satisfaction, relief, and joy. I was able to take the reader on the journey from the start to the end. After reading my paper, I wanted the reader to realize that everyone struggles in many ways. It is how a person reacts to the struggle that matters. It was through this experience that I became a better student and person. As a reader, did this cause you to think of your own experiences with struggle? Do you see how struggling could benefit a person? Did you feel my emotional struggle and personal growth throughout the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. My Personal Experience With Literacy Literacy is defined as being literate, that is, being able to read and write in a language. My personal experience with literacy began at an early age, at the age of 4 when I began to sit and read words and letters in the back of my mother's car. Soon enough, she would bring me a magazine called "Majed" which, in the 90's, was a popular magazine. With this, I began even more interested in reading and writing and reviewed every word in the magazine associated with each of the short pictured stories. It was the first memory I deeply recall of literacy and it was what laid the foundation for my personal love of reading and writing. The methodology used for this is an interview. There are three interviews which are analyzed and brought together in the form of a narrative. This narrative serves to better explain the emotions and thoughts that the interviewees had about the idea of literacy. The first interviewee is one of my classmates who was asked a series of questions about literacy. My classmates stated that "When I was child I use to wrote any words I saw in the newspaper, but just copy the words without knows the meaning. After that my mother saw my, she asks me. Do you know the meaning of this words? I said not, in this day, my mother start to taught me how to read and write." When asked about which areas were most interesting my classmate stated that they read romantic books, dramas, fantasy books, and history. But it was not always easy for them. • 18. My Reading & Writing Experience My experiences as a writer have been both very engrossing and strenuous. I have learned a great quantity on both reading and writing, though, I continue to struggle on things that I have learned by this time, making the same mistakes that I do not even realize. Sometimes things are not so easy to understand when reading information, especially if the wording of an article is difficult for example. I love the idea of learning new things everyday. These past years as a writer have been very interesting, and I have learned and grasped many concepts I have been taught along the way. Weaknesses I have had difficulty on is having to write essays. Every time my teachers assign me work to perform that involves writing an essay for instance, I tend to get frustrated. I would often spend hours trying to craft an idea on what to write about and how I should word it in my essay. An additional problem is when I read the paper to myself and looks fine, but when I turn the paper over to someone else, they do not find the point I was trying to convey. Then, I would have to verbally express the key ideas or meaning of the essay. My next two weaknesses are the ones that I still continue to kind of struggle. Those weaknesses are not finding the right words to write and being easily...show more content... • 19. Personal Narrative: My Writing Experiences My writing experiences have been minimal. So far I have only learned the basics of writing, like forming sentences and forming sentences to put into paragraphs. I can tell that my writing has improved throughout the years. I hope to improve in writing essays, paragraphs, stories, and speeches so that I have no errors with editing and creating the final product. I predict that I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from Newman University. Writing for me began as a kindergartener. My teacher made me write my name over and over again until I could write it without making any mistakes. In elementary school all my teachers taught me to put words I had learned together to form sentences. I was eventually taught to avoid fragments, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Personal Narrative: My Experience As A Writer My experience as a writer although I need a lot more practice to become better at writing in general and learn how to be detailed with my information correctly. I would say my strength in writing will be knowing the subject on what I would want to write, but once I'm typing all of it down I over think and then does not make sense at all. For example, I get a topic talking about dogs and have to describe how they live, eat, etc. Like that topic is easier than doing one about a scientific method and at the end it helps because you learn a new topic about a subject you might have not known about. Overall, my strength would be knowing what to write about but my weakness is not knowing how to put it in a essay. What I have read affects how I write Get more content on HelpWriting.net
