The main aim of the second project meeting was to organize the exhibition of paintings and posters
related to water as a symbol of creation made by students in all schools.
The second task was to create the project’s website: " We are surrounded by water, but there is no
drop to drink”.
The third task was to choose the official logo of the project.
The aim of our school as the host was to present Polish culture, history, natural environment, salt
mine and underground river in Bochnia.

24th November – Wednesday
The day started with the trip to Auschwitz - Birkenau Museum. The visit started with the 15-minute
film presenting the first moments after liberation of the camp. The film was shown in the visitor
reception building at the Auschwitz I site. Then the tour participants went through the camp, where
they became acquainted with the history of a place that has become a symbol of the Holocaust and
Nazi crimes against Poles, Roma and other nationalities.
To commemorate all victims the members of the group lit candles at the execution wall. The final
stage of the trip was the drive to Birkenau.
It was essential to visit both parts of the camp, Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau, in order to
acquire a proper sense of the place that has become the symbol of the Holocaust and a part of
European history. Pic 1-6
After coming back to Sosnowiec and eating lunch in the school canteen pic 7 we started a workshop
during which participants chose the winning drawing called "WATER AS A SYMBOL OF CREATION"
and the logo of our project. Pic 8,9
The first place in the drawing contest went to Lithuania, the second place to Hungary and the third
place to Turkey.
Before coming to Poland all schools were asked to prepare the logo contest and to bring to Poland
the logo which was the winner. During the meeting we decided that the first place should go to
Spain, the second place to Greece and the third place to Poland. After a long debate we decided that
our logo will be the combination of the three winning projects and will be presented at the meeting
in Spain in January 2011.
Another point of the workshop was to determine the tasks for future months and visits in other
countries. An important step was taken to make decisions on the creation and updating the official
website of our project http://comenius2water.blogspot.com . After discussion we decided to give all
materials to our partners from Croatia because they are responsible for updating the website.
25th November – Thursday
That day we went on a trip to the salt mine in Bochnia. We visited the underground corridors,
chapels, and then went underground railway. We sailed boats on the salt lake. Pic 1-3 once again I
