3. ACT4KIDS is a proposed
health-hygiene-training program by
the “Youth of the Nation” allocated
for forty (40) street children from
Nagcawa Street, Brgy. Cabcaben,
Mariveles, Bataan to be conducted
from April 28 to May 27, 2017.
5. “Youth for the Nation” is an
organization of youth advocates that
aims to help lessen the problems in
the society by conducting unsolicited
outreach programs and different
activities regarding various issues
such as poverty, malnutrition and
many more.
8. Street children, as defined by
UNICEF, is any girl or boy who has
not reached adulthood, for whom
the street has become her or his
home and who is inadequately
protected, supervised or directed
by responsible adults.
11. Street children makes up 1 to
3% of the population of children in
the Philippines and they were the
ones usually exposed to the risks
such as drugs, malnutrition, human
trafficking, prostitution, and child
labor.
19. Street children are minors who
live and survive in the streets. They
often grow up in public landfills, train
stations, or under the bridges.
20.
21.
22. According to a 2015 report on
Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), there
were about 1.5 million street children in
the Philippines and most of them were
subjected to problems such as drugs,
malnutrition, human rights violations,
human trafficking, sexual exploitation,
prostitution, and child labor.
23. Because of this situation, the “Youth
for the Nation” group decided to propose
the project “ACT4KIDS” that will help
those street children to achieve their rights
as a child through a series of various
activities that they will surely enjoy during
the summer vacations and also to raise
awareness for the risks of being in the
streets.
25. The ACT4KIDS Project aims to:
• Teach the children with the basics
of their rights as a child.
• Teach the children on how to take
care of their body.
• Help the children in socializing
with other children to gain friends.
26. • Unleash the hidden talent and
skills of the children.
• Conduct activities where in they
will not just enjoy but also learn.
28. By the end of this ACT4KIDS
Project on May 27, 2017, the children
that participated were expected to:
• Know their rights and
responsibilities as a child.
• Learn how to take care of
themselves by becoming healthy and
