38. LAC Lac is a kind of resin. It is a resinous incrustation formed on the bark of trees like Kusum, Pipal through the action of LAC insect. Once a female insect is impregnated, it encrusts itself with a resinous excretion & develops a brilliant red color. Its collected & crushed into a powder & then made into small square cakes. The contemporary student will learn to apply this traditional craft through various mediums to create, embellish, polish and design ornaments, decorative and utilitarian household objects as well as other knickknacks & trinkets.
