2. The random sample test were specifically designed
to test commercial egg laying stock from the
breeders. The first random sample test was
conducted in the Netherland (1927).
Random sample test, the entry is selected by the
disinterested party, either as hatching egg or newly
hatched chicks. Elaborate precaution are taken to
ensure that the random sample is indeed
representative of the population which it is
intended to access.
3. The sample size for the random sample test
usually at least 50 and frequently several
hundred. Because random sample test
usually operates as public service to
breeders and to the industry, they go to
considerable lengths to ensure that
management, housing, feeding, etc. at the
testing station are representative of and
transferrable to the commercial industry.
4. The true random sampling of broiler chicks
is difficult to achieve, it is comparatively
easy for the entrant to submit large numbers
of chicks from specially selected parent stock
of hatching eggs. Some test attempted to
circumvent this by random sampling the
parents, and then testing successive batches
of chicks. The process took a total of 18-24
months.
5. Chick performance test have been carried out to
improve the economic characters of chick and to
give some useful information for the choice of
chick strains for poultry farmers.
A nationwide project has been carried out to
construct RST system (random sample test
system) for chick breeding.
6. The purpose of the project is to make the
poultry industry more competitive by the
effective collection and processing of the
random sample test data through building a
database and construction of network
system.
The final goal of the project is to make
poultry industry more competitive through
higher productivity and profits
7. Random sample test system includes three
part as fallows.
Building a database of random sample test
data(RSTDB) for layers and broilers and
developing related programs for the data
collection and analyses.
Developing software (RSTAS) for statistical
analyses to process the random sample test
data.
Constructing network system by internet for
high efficiency of the breeding information.
8. BUILDING RSTDB.
The project of constructing the an be divided
into three parts.
This part includes a database (RSTDB)
of random sample test data for layers and
brolier.RST data collected at poultry random
sample test station.
10. Developing RSTAS
It is a package software for obtaining chick
breeder information by statistical analyses of
random sample test data . Chick breeder
farms and commercial chick farmers can
estimate the economic traits of various layer
and broiler strains and can get useful
information for choosing their stock for by
RSTAS . It is developed by computer
language of visual basic.
12. CONSTRUCTING NETWORK SYSTEM .
Internet –based network system is
constructed to rise the efficiency of using
chick breeding information. RST system
uses the internet line of the powerful ISP
(Internet Service Provider) which has many
connection nodes and high speed connection
lines. A homepage of KPA includes random
sample test information and change their
data.
13. Contd ……….
Poultry farmers can get the image
information and send their data to RST
station and poultry breeding specialist
with web browser by PC at home.
RST system is expected to help
poultry farmers improve productivity
and profits.
