 Chlamydia is an infection caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, which is
usually spread through sexual contact. This is a bacterium which infects
cells in the cervix, urethra, rectum and sometimes the eyes or throat.

 A large percentage of people with chlamydia will not encounter any
obvious symptoms – 50% of men and 70-80% of women. However
many do experience some signs of chlamydia and could recognise one

 an increase or change in vaginal discharge
 pain passing urine
