All heating elements carry a 36 month manufacturers warranty against factory
defects. Energi Mart (Pty) Ltd. warrants that heating elements manufactured by us will
WARRANTY AND EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY
be free of any factory defects for the warranty period.
Should any manufacturing defect be detected within this warranty period, the “goods” can
be returned to us or any authorised representative for replacement.
Energi Mart (Pty) Ltd will not be liable for any defect caused by incorrect installation, negligence
recklessness or malicious behavior and cannot be held liable for any damage resultant of such
conditions or behavior.
Energi Mart (Pty) Ltd will not be liable for any reasonable allowance of wear and tear due to
water quality or installation conditions. Proof of periodic anode replacement needs to accompany
any warranty claim to ensure that necessary precautions have been taken to prevent premature
element or geyser failure.
Energi Mart (Pty) Ltd will not be liable for any consequential damage to any surrounding items,
equipment or structures that may be caused by failure or any natural disaster.
Any claim under this warranty may be subject to restocking charges as allowed by the consumer
protection Act. This warranty will be void if any alteration has been made or in case of any
faulty installation or operation in contradiction to information contained in this document.

4. PLEASE NOTE: All electrical work should be done by a qualified electrician or industry
professional.
Close cold water supply to geyser, open a hot water faucet, attach hose to geyser drain valve
and drain the geyser.
Ensure that the element wires are not power or under electrical load.
Disconnect electrical wires and thermostat and remove flange and heating element.
Turn off main power before working on any electrical component.
Turn off geyser isolator switch.
Test with multi-meter to ensure power is off before any work.
Turn off geyser circuit breaker in distribution board
Replace with the AC/DC element kit
Tighten the flange to the geyser and ensure proper seal.
Insert the AC and DC thermostats and connect wires as per diagrams in following pages.
Close drain valve and open cold water inlet. Allow air to escape the geyser before closing
any faucets. Wait for a steady flow of water before closing any faucets.
DO NOT SWITCH ON ANY ELECTRICAL SUPPLY BEFORE THE GEYSER HAS FILLED
WITH WATER.
Continue with electrical connections as in the attached diagram before turning on any
electrical supply.
Do not exceed maximum DC thermostat voltage of 130VDC
Do not exceed maximum DC Amperage of 15 A
DC thermostat is compulsory for temperature control and safety

The connection diagram below serves as a guide for typical installations. All work should be done
by qualified professionals as work on electrical components may cause injury or death.

CONNECTION GUIDE (3 panel system)
The DC thermostat allows for a maximum of 130VDC and 15A to be connected to it. Please
calculate the series or parallel voltage and amperage correctly before selecting the appropriate
connection setting.
The DC thermostat disconnects the PV circuit when temperatures in excess of 70DegC are
reached. Connect one wire directly from the PV to the heating element and connect the other
wire to one connection point on the DC thermostat with another wire connected to the second
connection point on the DC thermostat that in turn is connected to the other connection point on
DC heating element.

CAUTION!
Do not drill holes in frame. Do not cut or modify parts
or rails.
Work under dry conditions with dry tools.
Do not stand or step on solar module.
Do not install near flammable gases.
Do not drop or allow objects to fall onto module.
Completely cover solar module with opaque materials
when wiring to halt production of electricity.
Keep the back side of solar module surfaces free of
foreign objects.
Do not use chemicals on solar modules when
cleaning.
Do not wear metallic jewelry, which may cause
electrical shock.
Do not touch cable electrical contacts.
Do not expose solar modules to sunlight that is
concentrated with mirrors, lenses or similar means.
Consult local codes and other applicable laws and
statutes concerning required permits and regulations
concerning installation and inspection requirements.
Install solar modules and systems according to
applicable codes.
Product should be installed and maintained by
qualified personnel. Keep unauthorized personnel
away from solar modules.
Avoid shadowing cells in order to prevent
solar module hot spots and/or reduction in
power.
Avoid installing modules and mounting
system in high corrosion areas.
Panel orientation
The ideal orientation for any solar panel in the
Southern hemisphere is true North facing the
equator. The closer the panel is to facing true
North, the higher the efficiency of the panel will
be in absorbing solar energy.
Angles up to 45 º West or East from North, are
still ideal, but after this point the efficiency will
be reduced significantly and additional panels
may be required or adjustments may have to
be made to come closer to true North.
Shading
With a system orientated to face North, the time
period when the solar panel is exposed to the
most direct solar radiation is between 10h00
and 16h00. Solar panels with an East bias will
achieve a greater gain in morning hours and
those with a West bias will do so in the afternoon.
Care should be taken to ensure that the solar
panels are not subjected to excessive shading
from trees or adjacent buildings, particularly
between 09h00 and 16h00.
Also bear in mind that tree growth could lead to
future shading issues. If the installation takes
place in summer, it is also important to take into
account the lower solar angles in winter, which
result in longer shadows.
Tilt Angle
In respect of the optimum angle of inclination for
a solar panel, the rule of thumb provides that the
latitude of the location is taken and then 10°
added thereto. Therefore, a location with latitude
of 25° would indicate an optimum collector tilt
angle of 35°.
The angle of inclination, however, is also flexible
and minimal loss of performance occurs by
installing at lower or higher angles of inclination.
Angles lower than 10° would result in build-up of
dust, as it is not able to be washed away
effectively by rainfall.
During winter periods, the sun follows a lower
trajectory through the sky and the ideal tilt is
increased to 15° - 20° above the latitude. As
the solar module mountings discussed in this
guide are of a fixed nature, selecting a tilt angle
for optimal efficiency in winter may be beneficial,
but will result in reduced efficiency during summer.

1.1. Mount Bearing Profile
The extruded Aluminum mounting frame has
pre-designed profiles for easy attachment
of the other mounting components.
1.2. Middle and End Clamps
Middle and end clamps easily fit the available slot
provided by the mounting profiles. End clamps
secure the PV panel at the end of the profile and
middle clamps secure two panels where they join.
1.3. Roof Hooks
Roof hooks are designed to ease the installation of
PV systems on tiled roofing infrastructure. The roof
hook simply slips under the roof tile and is fastened
to the underlying infrastructure, with the roof tiles
placed over the installed roof hook.
1. MOUNTING ACCESSORIES
1.4. Hanger Bolts + klicktop
Used to affix mounting profiles to corrugated
metal or similar roof structures.
The hanger bolt replaces the existing bolt and
extends the bolt beyond the roof in order to
attach the mounting profile. The unit includes
a seal and klicktop attachment for ease of
connection.
1.5. Alterations
There are many other connection accessories
that can be used for the different installation
requirements and can be readily acquired
from your local accessories supplier.

9. 2.1. Three Panel System
The three panel system requirement is based
on the Solaire Eco Plus 240Wp solar panel
and may differ with panel specifications.
The components herein use 40-50mm ranges
that is suitable to the specified panel.
2.1.1. Tiled Roof
Profile: 7m total required split in two parts for
top and bottom mounting.
End clamps: 4 x suitable end clamps
Middle clamps: 4 x suitable middle clamps
Roof Hook: 6 x Roof hooks with klicktop spread
over distance of mounting profiles.
2.1.2. Corrugated Roof
Profile: 7m total required split in two parts for
top and bottom mounting.
End clamps: 4 x suitable end clamps
Middle clamps: 4 x suitable middle clamps
Hanger Bolts: Minimum 6 x bolts with klicktop
spread over distance of mounting profiles.
2.2. Four Panel System
The four panel system requirement is based
on the Solaire Eco Plus 240Wp solar panel
and may differ with panel specifications.
2.1.1. Tiled Roof
Profile: 8.3m total required split in two parts for
top and bottom mounting. (Requires connector)

10. Roof Hook Installation
Select a tile on the roof to lift and identify a
suitable wooden or other mounting fixture to
which the roof hook can be fastened.
Once you have identified a suitable mounting
fixture, secure the roof hook to the fixture by
fastening it with appropriate screws.
Once the roof hook is secured, carefully slide the
roof tile over the roof hook and back to its original
position, leaving the required part of the roof hook
exposed for use.
Once all the required roof hooks have been
installed, secure the module bearing profile
to the roof hooks.
Insert the end clamps near the end of the
module bearing profiles in order to place the
first PV panels on it.
Place the PV panel on top of the module
module bearing profiles and secure the PV
panel by fastening the screw of the end clamp.
Insert the middle clamps and next PV panel and
secure the middle clamps by fastening the
middle clamp screws. Continue with middle and
end clamps until the full array of PV panels are
installed.
TILED ROOF INSTALLATION

11. Corrugated Roof Installation
Select the ideal position to mount the PV
panel array and remove existing screws
from the roofing structure. Replace the
screws with the provided self-tapping
screws with attachments.
Tighten the screw above the rubber seal to
prevent any leakage and take care not to
distort by excessive force.
Once screws with attachments are
secured, attach module bearing
profile and secure by fastening the
screws.
Adjust the middle nut to provide desired height
and attach the klicktop if not pre-assembled.
Once the module bearing profile has been
secured, insert the end clamps and the first PV
panel and secure it by fastening the end clamp
screws, similar to the tiled roof installation.
Insert the middle clamps and following PV Panels
and tighten the middle clamp screws to secure.
