3. Community service organization with a 30-year service to the
community.
1980 - Started as a group of citizens motivated by
proposed budget cuts by Boonville Public
Schools eliminating the position of Paul Dow – the
only educator of color in the public school district.
1980 – Concerned Citizens for the Black Community
(CCBC).
1986 - Purchased the mortgage for former School and
opened its doors as the CCBC Community
Building.
2011 – Changed name to Concerned Citizens for a
Better Community.
4. “Our Purpose is to provide additional education and
recreational opportunities to the community.”
“Our Mission is to seek and organize activities of
educational and recreational natures in the
community which will enhance the quality of life in
the community.”

Maintain monthly revenue stream between $1200.00 - $1700.00
Provide a minimum of three events per month – one of three must focus
on educational, recreational, cultural, and/or entrepreneurial
enhancement.
