So it seems as though Haller cannot break the privilege since he represents Roulet who has told him
confidential, incriminating information. In both reality and in the tension–filled movie, it becomes
clear that, perhaps, Haller's best escape from his moral and ethical issues may be by coming to grips
that Roulet is guilty and is a horrible human being and that he actually may have at one time
represented a innocent man who he had plead guilty for a crime he did not

A Short Story : A Story?
While driving down Lemon Grove Boulevard, after leaving the motel, Marlene smiled, recalling the
past few hours she had spent there, rushing to get home before Jerry and Andrew arrived. Pulling
into the garage, she went into the house, stopping at a bathroom and brushed her hair as she put on
fresh lipstick. Relieved, she had arrived home ahead of her husband and father–in–law, going into
the kitchen to make a fresh pot of coffee. While waiting for them, she sat at the counter and glanced
through the morning paper. The phone rang, answering it, she said, "Barnes residence may I help
you?" "Now, I know why you are always late for lunch!" "What do you mean?" Marlene asked,
detecting anger in her mother's voice.
"What are you doing? You are a married woman and know better than to get involved with another
man. It will get you a one–way ticket to hell. What about your church, and your family, don't you
care about anyone but yourself?" Her mother asked.
"Mom, have you lost it? What are you talking about?"
Sounding angry, her mother said, "Don't be coy with me? Your boyfriend called. What in God's
name are you doing?"
Acting innocent, Marlene asked, "I don't know what you are talking about?"
Without hesitating, Katherine said, "Okay, let's start at the beginning. You left your phone on my
counter, it rang, I answered it, and a man said, 'Hello, sweetheart, I love you."
"I was speechless when he said, 'Marlene, this is Frank, I'll meet you at the motel. Love you.'"

Anger In The Fault In Our Stars
A well– known proverb in Italy is anger can be an expensive luxury. There are many ways to
express anger, these can be positive or negative and can result in money being spent, lives being
saved or lost, and relationships changing for better or worse. This proverb can be proven though
people such as Gandhi, many historical events like The riots in Ferguson and a local shooting, and it
can be shown in literature such as The Fault in our Stars.
Gandhi was the type of person who would not kill or injury anyone. The citizens of India were
changing the country into a violent place. During the Salt March of 1930 Gandhi said, "My ambition
is no less than to convert the British people through non–violence and thus make them see the

My Hero Research Paper
We all have heroes, some are fictional like Superman, Batman, or Abraham Lincoln. My hero is, my
dad. Ever since I was born, I have lived mainly with my dad. When I was a kid, me and my dad
lived in Florida. On the weekends we would go out boating. Crystal clear water all around, the smell
of the sea filling your nose, the not as pleasant taste of salt water in your mouth. Going out on the
ocean was the best part of being there. When we moved we lost all that. We went to Greybull,
Wyoming, a small town where my father grew up. I made a few friends and we all had lots of fun
together. My dad was usually working, fixing the house or out on a job. Most of the time he took me
with him and I helped out. During the winter we would go out to the

"Why does the mailbox have to be so far?" Zuri thinks to herself as she turns the corner of North
Broadview Avenue and Red Wood Road. As she rounds the corner she looks up only in time to see a
white Lincoln town car barreling towards her and barely manages to jump backwards as it screeches
to a stop right where she had been standing a few second ago. A tall, young black man hops out of
the car and walks over to Zuri asking "Are you all right?" as he reaches out his hand to help her up.
"Yeah I think so." She replies as she gets up and dust herself off and looks around for her keys.
"What you looking for?" the young man asks. "My keys I lost them when I jumped out of the way"

Summary Of Laurel's Short Story: After High School
Laurel folded her arms in front of her, her head dropped off to the side a little. She kept her dark
hues locked onto Lincoln, her head shaking. She couldn't imagine how hard it was for him to leave
his daughter, from her understanding she was only a few weeks old. She could never do that, leave
something so precious behind to go out, out into hell. She shook her head from side to side. Her
staring at him, like she was, probably made him feel uneasy, like she was judging him and part of
her was. Truth be told Laurel didn't know what she would do if she were put in a situation like
Lincoln's, he had to shoot his wife and put her down. She never wanted that and luckily she never
had to. The two people she cared for most in this, the ones she

African Americans : A Great Depression
African Americans didn't know that is was a Great Depression. African Americans have always been
poor and knew how to survive. By 1932, approximately half of black Americans were unemployed,
blacks always felt unemployed and under paid. Whites attempted to keep blacks out of work by not
hiring African Americans. They used racial violence, and discrimination tactics to keep an
underprivileged population depressed. Teachers taught in the past it was caused by the stock market
crash in 1929, causing a decade of poverty, homelessness, and hungry. The true economic reason
was a large scale of credit, borrowing, and loans. The great inventions of the earlier years triggered a
greedy population of people to have the latest technology. As the new housing where being built in
the suburbs, people started filling out more and more credit applications. In this culture, appearance
of wealth, new cars also were sold to go along with the new house. Furniture, appliances and
consumer electronics were also placed on credit as well. The agriculture sector suffered as well, with
the expansion of farms during WWI, tools, and the latest equipment was purchased, causing the
price of food to raise. Farmers also borrowed money for their growth and when people wasn't
buying the over priced vegetables, meats and fruits. The financial institutions foreclosed on property
and capital equipment. Big banks had a practice of loaning more money for the stock market, and

Video On Underage Drinking
The video on underage drinking further highlighted information that I was already aware of. Over
the last several years, I have seen multiple news stories covering the Midwest's drinking problem.
According to Bustle.com, Lincoln was found to be one of the top ten drunkest cities in America.
This doesn't come as much of a shock to me. Drinking is part of Nebraska's culture. Small Nebraska
towns are full of drinkers; even minors are allowed to participate. Even though I am from a small
town, I didn't drink until I was in college, and even then I did so in a responsible manner. My family
and friends never encouraged or participated in drinking, so I never really felt the need to. However,
the same can't be said for many of my high school peers.

Descriptive Essay On Car
To start off a car defines a person very well, it shows personal interests, values, and obviously how
much money they are willing to spend on transportation. Also my personal career will definitely
contain some greasy fun work preferably Diesel Technician. One of my first few memories with cars
is me just playing with toys when I was very little. By the time I was five or six my parents had
given me a miniature truck I could drive around the block and yard. Not long after that I got into
bikes. Within a couple of months I had a fleet of bikes ranging, from a bike from the nineteen forties
to a newer chopper styled bike. As soon as I turned fourteen I got a real job. Before I could afford a
vehicle I drove around and constantly fixed my grandpa's junk truck. One bad thing is that his truck
belonged in the junkyard. It leaked gas, oil, and transmission fluid after three months of driving it
and it went straight to the junkyard. Then a couple months later at fifteen, I had already bought my
own small truck. This was quite the step up this one only leaked oil, but it was very slow. Going
from zero to sixty mph took about twenty five seconds. This is when I got myself a nice car that was
fast, comfortable, and didn't leak anything. That car was a ninety six Lincoln Town Car, but the car
has over two hundred twenty thousand miles on it. After putting ten thousand miles on it in seven
months it went to the junkyard. Now comes the nicest, most reliable, and smallest car that I

Analysis Of The Poem ' Taps Upon The Grass '
Taps upon the grass. We moved to Prairie Grove, May of 2007 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. It was a
beautiful day and even though the drive with a newborn and a traitor full of our belongings was
intense. The scenery was absolutely memorizing, little did we know or realize how many wonderful
things there were about this little town to explore. We had lived in Prairie Grove for a few years
before we started attending local events. It was a Friday afternoon and I was heading to the school to
pick up my oldest son Elliott from band practice and I noticed a lot of people setting up tents and
walking around in old settler clothes. Men in blue and gray suits, some were riding horses. Women
in petticoats and big bulky dresses. All walking around the Battlefield Park like this was something
normal that went on everyday. I 'm thinking, "Ok, this town is kind of weird." Soon I started to learn
the history of the town we moved to, and all the intricate details surrounding the town of Prairie
Grove. Come to find out, Part of the Civil War battle was fought on the Prairie Grove Battlefield on
December 7, 1862. The Confederate Army under Major General Thomas C Hindman engaged the
Union Divisions of Brigadier General Francis J. Herron and James G. Blunt near Prairie Grove
Church. They were suppose to attack Blunt on Cane Hill but this plan was foiled by the untimely
arrival of two union divisions. The Hindman division

America, one of the largest and most famous countries in the world. Mainly the most known for
allowing freedom. The United States of America is one of the only countries in the world that
permits equal rights for men and women. It is the only country in the world made out of many

After visiting with Marlene and Jerry, picking up her purse, ready to leave, Margaret said, "It is

Still, in a daze, Marlene yelled, "I don't know who did it, someone killed my mother. They are doing

Mark and Ashley when they get home," Jerry reminded her. "All we know is a neighbor found her

said, patting Marlene's hand.
"What about Mark and Ashley?" "Their safety is my biggest concern if someone went into the house

would do if anything happened to them," she said and started crying again, as Jerry comforted her.

Pros And Cons Of The Transcontinental Railroad
The Transcontinental Railroad and the American Government System The Transcontinental Railroad
is a contiguous network of railroad track that crosses a continental landmass with terminals at
different oceans or continental borders. Construction began in 1863 and concluded in 1868; the
tracks stretched 1,776 miles long, connecting the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. The idea of building
this monumental rail line was present in America decades before the Pacific Railroad Acts of 1862
authorized the construction. The Pacific Railroad Acts were passed because at the end of the
American Civil War, the southern Democrats (who opposed the idea) were now absent from
Congress; therefore, the republicans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Established in 1842, the US House & Senate Committees have looked back at the railroad and used
it to advance the ways and means of transporting goods, supplies, mail, and people. Look at what it
has done; it has served as an artery, moving what is needed throughout the entire nation from the
Atlantic to the Pacific. From giving jobs to those minority groups and once former slaves after the
Civil War, throwing the stock market and economy left and right, assisting Abraham Lincoln in
winning elections and also winning the Civil War, helping rebuild the South and the nation's
economy from the bottom up during the reconstruction era, taming the Wild West (which has a
major direct influence on the American Government System), serving as one of the best ways of
getting mail to citizens across the US, and expanding intercontinental trade to have its own manifest
destiny. This railroad had a significant affect in the growth of this nation and its government. It's
relationship and way it impacts the government is a result from multiple chain reactions that
originated from the 1860s, 70s, 80s, etc. and I strongly believe, after all of my research, that our
nations governmental system would be many decades behind if it wasn't for the transcontinental

affected by black people being shot for registering to vote. One person that was shot was a person
named Levi Jackson who worked on her grandparents farm. African American men had a hard time

Sacrifice In Bruce Springsteen's Song, Nebraska
Music is something that is needed in everyday life. It fuels creativity, brings people together, and it
even helps people learn. In Bruce Springsteen's song, "Nebraska", it tells the story of Charles
Starkweather, the most notorious killer in Nebraska. Charles Starkweather symbolizes fear for many
people, and will forever haunt not only Nebraska, but the whole world. Lincoln Nebraska seemed
like the perfect place to live. It was a quiet town where everybody seemed to know each other, and
nobody needed to lock their doors at night. It wasn't until December 1, under the cover of darkness,
that everything seemed to change. On that night Charles Starkweather returned to a Lincoln gas
station, robbed the attendant for $100.00, and then led him out a few miles where he proceeded to
shoot him dead. (Spencer). This robbery and murder was just the start of the gruesome spree that
had yet to occur. Almost two months after the killing, with no lead for the case, Starkweather struck
again. Caril Ann Fugate was Starkweather's 14 year old girlfriend, and her parent's didn't like that
fact, so they often got into fights with the 19 year old man. This time, however, Starkweather ended
the fight quickly, killing both Fugate's parents and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

they needed a new car for their escape. They reached Douglas, Wyoming and met Merle Collison,
an older shoe salesman sleeping in his car along the highway. Starkweather began to shoot him,
stopping after another car and police officer pulled up. Starkweather then jumped in the Packard and
sped off, pulling over and surrendering after he got shot in the ear.

Importance Of My Favorite Vacation On A Trip With My Family
My favorite vacation was when I went on a road trip to New Jersey with my family. First, we drove
about eight hours to Wisconsin Dells, and we stayed there for one night. We stayed at the Kalahari
resort where there were many enjoyable activities. Some of them include laser tag, water parks, rock
wall climbing, mini golf, and so much more. Afterward, we drove about nine hours to Cedar Point,
Ohio. At Cedar point we stayed at a hotel right on the beach of Lake Erie, which was walking
distance from the Cedar Point amusement park, which included the fastest roller coaster in the world
inside. So, the next day we arose very early to get in line to get into the park. The line took about an
hour to go through because there was an abounding amount of people, but it was worth it. As a
result of waiting in line, the rides were so enjoyable and felt absolutely amazing. After about five
hours at the amusement park, we went back to the hotel because we were all getting tired. We rested
for about 30 minutes until my siblings and I decided to go swimming in the lake. It was a very hot
day so it was nice to get in the chilly, refreshing water. We swam for an hour or so, and then we ate
dinner. After that, we went back to the park. It was more pleasant at night since there were fewer
people in the park, and it also wasn't as hot compared to during the day. From there on, we went
back to the hotel and got an excellent night's sleep, and we to get up very early the next day. Then,

The Eternal Question: Public or Private
Consider this, you drive into the parking lot of the public school and see the same five squad cars as
every day, business as usual you think. You and your friends walk up to the door and wait in line for
the metal detectors. You put your keys in the tray and walk through the detector, it goes off. Two
cops walk up to check your backpack. Pager in the pocket got to go back to the car and put it away.
Back through the metal detectors and they do not go off, thank God. You go to first period, sit in
your seat and the teacher locks the door. The drug dogs must be coming today. Second period and
the dogs are still here, there must be something wrong. Third period starts ... Show more content on

This year at Marian there was a big deal with drugs; the school decided to do an unannounced drug
bust. Through the day there were 150 students held and searched. By the end of the day there were
four seniors and two freshman expelled. A police officer asked our principle if she would like a
sweep of the entire school. Sister Mary Paul declined stating that she knew most of the students
would not be back tomorrow if she did that. This is the most pathetic thing I have heard from an
administrator. If she knows that her school is so bad why would she single out those six students?
The answer is that Marian is getting so bad with drugs that she knew she had to do something to
stop these problems, so she used these students as an example for the rest of us. Although private
schools do have their down points I think they are the best option. My parents said they would never
send their dog to Crete–Monee, our public school, let alone their daughter. My mother went to
Marian and my father went to Bloom, the public school example, so they also know first hand the
problems in these schools. Marian has just recently started with the drug problems though. Rita, my
mother, said that there was never any problem at school when she went there; the gossip was always
about what happened at Bloom today. The main factor in this transition is money. When my mom
went there, parents had a lot of money but the children did not see a lot of it. Now, children flaunt

Pathos In The Lincoln Mcconaissance
The Lincoln McConaissance A Lincoln sedan cruises through the streets at night, while Matthew
McConaughey monologues about something seemingly deep in nature as the city lights twinkle in
the background behind them. This could easily turn out to be the intro to some True Detective
episode. Instead, it's the beginning of a wildly successful advertising campaign. In 2013, Lincoln
Motor Company sold 81,694 vehicles to consumers in the United States (Statista). In 2014, Matthew
McConaughey bloomed as an actor, exploding into one of the biggest stars Hollywood has to offer.
Lincoln tabbed McConaughey to act in commercials for their advertising campaign. In 2016,
Lincoln sold 111,724 vehicles, with each year bringing in an average increase in unit ... Show more

It can be tricky to use pathos in advertising without exaggerating or using logical fallacies such as
scare tactics or "the slippery slope." Examples of this would be showing dying cancer patient
children and then pleading for a donation. Lincoln is much more understated in their usage of pathos
in their ads, which is also an option according to Alfano. "Sometimes the pathos appeal is more
subtle, through evoking deep feelings such as patriotism, indignation, even hope or fantasy" (Alfano
54). In the commercial "Diner," McConaughey is sitting by the window in a diner drinking coffee at
night, staring into the pouring rain while clearly pondering something. Human beings are dramatic
creatures and like being subject to moody scenes such as this. The integration of pathos and ethos
together in this scene is quite complicated–it relies on the audience first already being familiar with
McConaughey and understanding the hidden connections of having a silent existential crisis, and
then being put in a dreary mood by the rain in the commercial. At the end of the commercial when
the rain clears up, McConaughey smiles and gets in his Lincoln and drives away. After putting the
audience in a pensive mood, the pathos appeal is that by driving a Lincoln, all of McConaughey's
problems went

Summary Of Paper Towns By John Green

Type a two page double–spaced summary about the entire book. Include the main events
chronologically in the order they happened. In other words, write the main ideas about the story
from the beginning, the middle, and the end. Use Times New Roman Size 12 font.
In Paper Towns by John Green, I read about the life of a few high school seniors' last months of high
school. Quentin Jacobsen and Margo Roth Spiegelman have been childhood friends forever because
they are next–door neighbors. They were neighbors since the age of two. As they entered high
school their friendship dwindled down. They still acknowledged one another, but they did not hang
out together. Margo Roth Spiegelman was friends with some of the most popular people at school.
Their names were Lacey Pemberton and Jase. Margo's plan after high school was to attend Florida
State University's honors program. Quentin Jacobsen on the other hand was friends with people that
were not–so well known. Quentin Jacobsen grew up in a nice family that consisted of his mother,
father, and Quentin. Both of his parents were psychologists. Quentin planned on attending Duke
University after his high school career. His friends were Marcus Lincoln and Ben Starling. His
friends were all in band, not including Quentin. All of his friends enjoyed hanging out with one
another in the band room all of the time, which is the reason that they were not well known by many
of their fellow classmates. One day Margo snuck into Quentin's house at night and asked him to help
her get revenge on her friends. Margo entered Quentin's room through his window from her
window. She did this so she would not get into trouble for sneaking out by her parents or Quentin's.
The reason why she asked Quentin for help after so many years of not talking to him was because
she could not take her parent's car. Margo's parents had her car keys locked in a safe. She also knew
that Quentin would probably have access to using his mother's car. Margo wanted to get revenge on
her 'friends' because she was really upset that her friends were mean to her. Margo also did not like

Land was not redistributed in the majority of the cases, leaving former slaves without anything to
start or takeover their own farms. Instead, a system emerged in which former plantation owners
gained a lot of their power, which left former slaves to make a living by means of sharecropping and
tenant farming (a wage labor system). In sharecropping, "both freed slaves and poor whites
borrowed land, seeds, and tools from a landowner, in exchange for a share of the crop at harvest
time". In tenant farming, the land owners who have the more cash which meant they could rent the
land, and therefore keep all of their harvest. Today farming continues in the South, although not to
the extent that it was practiced during Reconstruction, and of course the crops are very different.
Today instead of cotton and tobacco, Southern farms grow crops like soybeans and corn, another
common farm would be the family owned chicken farms or egg farms, that also focus on a single
product. Sharecropping and tenant farming are no longer common methods of agriculture, however,
farming families often become subject to the same type of cycles of debt as tenant farmers that were

The Importance Of Growing Up In Southern Indiana
When growing up as a small child everyone remember where they grew up. They also remember
what the town looks like, what to do, and where does everyone hangout at. I grew up in a small
town in Southeastern Indiana called Greensburg. In this small town has some to do but not very
much. Once someone visits Greensburg they will not forget the historical places and all the
factories. When growing up here everyone knows everyone in some way. One thing I will never
forget and remember for the rest of my life is where I grew up. Just like indiana is called crossed
roads of america. Greensburg as one interstate 74, and three highways 3, 46, and 421. That come

Greensburg there's several places to eat, local restaurants and restaurants that have branches. The
best local restaurant is downtown Greensburg on the square is Story's. If someone eats at this

The Lincoln Lawyer By Michael Connelly
1. Full Title, author's name, copyright date, and number of pages. 2. The Lincoln Lawyer is a 404–
page crime fiction novel written by Michael Connelly, © 2005. Criminal defense attorney Mickey
Haller is presented with his latest client, Beverly Hills playboy, Louis Roulet. Roulet is accused of
rape and murder but this does not trouble Haller; on the contrary, he revels in it because it means he
is being offered a franchise case, or a case offering a huge payout. Naturally, Haller takes the offer
but what is unique about this case is that for the first time ever, Haller thinks he may have an
innocent client. This is very worrying as Haller's father once said "There is no client as scary as an
innocent man." As the case continues, however, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Haller meets Roulet for the first time in jail, the author lightly introduces the issue of
jailhouse snitches. Although it is only a brief moment that Haller urges Roulet to stay quiet, it is an
important moment that highlights an extremely common problem in today's jail system, which is
that of eavesdroppers and the way they can further endanger their fellow criminals. Furthermore,
Connelly excels at comparing the legal system to Haller's own philosophies. Much of the book
revolves around the concept that the law is a machine, and that there are many gray areas. Haller
uses all of the technicalities of the law in order to provide for the best defense of the client, and it is
these technicalities or gray areas that is what makes the whole novel so believable. An example of
this is when his investigator, Raul Levin, gives Haller a video of Roulet meeting the victim at the
bar. Haller knows that he will have to turn it over to the prosecution in accordance with the rule of
discovery, but at the same time, he uses it to his advantage because he "didn't technically have to
turn over anything until I was sure I planned to use it in trial" (105). In today's legal system, there
are countless instances of cases winning on technicalities or on very unspecific laws, so much that is
clear to see how Haller's methods are constantly replicated in the real world. 5. Haller is initially a
very unlikeable character

Characters In Paper Town Quotes
The five main characters involved in Paper Towns. They are Quentin Jacobsen, Margo Spiegelman,
Ben Starling, Radar Lincoln, and Lacey Pemberton. All five characters connect back to the main
theme of the story, which is that people change over time and they chase after what they want in life,
no matter what they leave behind. Quentin is symbolized as a paperboy because he is one of the
people who has a monotonous life and is an ordinary person. In the book, Margo tells Quentin, "All

Analysis Of The Book ' The Fugitive ' Essay
The Fugitive
One summer night Sara, Chad, Austin, Tristan, Autumn, Myles, Shelby, and I got together to find a
game to play. We met in Lincoln at South Pointe at Cold stone creamery. We headed to the mini golf
course but when we arrived the place was packed. So we stood in the parking lot trying to figure out
ideas. We were getting nowhere when Tristan says "well we can play fugitive."
None of us had ever played it or even heard of such a game. He explained it was a game where we
have two people in a car trying to find the 'fugitives' the fugitives start at one end of the town and
the cops would start at the other. There would be a designated place where if you made it without
being captured you won the game. So we decided Lincoln was too big to play it so we headed to our
hometown of Seward. We arrived at the ballfields and broke into four couples. Sara and Austin were
the cops and the rest of us were fugitives. They got in the burgandy van and drove to the other side
of town. Right when they were out of sight Chad and I sprinted as fast as we could to get a head

Chad, who is in cross country, kept running and left me behind. Soon I was alone walking the

Henry Ford and the Model T Ford
Cars are a major part of everyday life. People today cannot imagine walking from Northeast
Philadelphia to South Philadelphia, let alone traveling from Philadelphia to Florida. The vehicle that
started the mobile craze in America was the Model T ford by Henry Ford. Hitting it off with the
entire nation, The Model T Ford was a smashing success.
People would say that when the farm was under Henry's control. They would not see any tools.
Henry ran his farm the way of the "future". Henry ran a very efficient farm however this was not
what he wanted to do with life. As we already know Henry wanted to create the first car.
Ford was raised on a small farm ran by his father outside of Detroit (Mitchell,1). As a child Henry
was very interested in machinery. He always wanted a simpler way to do everything. "His Father
would go to town and ask the children what they wanted. Henry's brother and sister would ask for
candy but henry always asked for clock wheels."
Henry Ford was a very intelligent man throughout his life. Henry was only eleven when he began
experimenting in his workshop (Barbara Mitchell,7). Henry grew up on the Ford farm just outside of
Detroit (Barbara Mitchell,12). When he was sixteen he left the farm and went to live and work in
Detroit (Mitchell Barbara,12). Henry wanted to learn more about technology so he can build the first
motor vehicle. "At four o'clock one morning in the spring of 1896, Henry, Clara (Henrys wife) and a
friend named Jim Bishop gathered around

Lincoln has come out with a series of commercials starring Matthew McConauhey who because of

Initially there is a close up shot of Matthew McConauhey's face while he says "It's not about
hugging trees, it's not about being wasteful either." This comes as conserving the environment is
cool and all but as I fore mentioned it's really only a by–product of our cars. This does not come
across in the landscapes around him. As he says this line he is perched on top of a cliff looking over

But I found this book very interesting; I usually read mystery books with crimes and investigation because I like searching into the unknown. I found this book very interesting because it was a crime and investigation novel, not only that. It opened up more Chinese knowledge for me. I learnt a bit more about Chinese traditions and their beliefs and through this book I could say that it was funny and suspending at the same time. I loved the plot as well; especially the part where in the end we find out that the survivor who got shot in the chest was actually the whole mastermind behind the crime was not foreseeable. It came totally out of the blue for me, it wasn't one of those read the beginning of the book and then you could guess the rest of the story type, it kept me guessing the whole way through the story. So I really enjoyed this book. But the worst part about it was the ending, where the United States government allowed this to happen secretly in its waters so that it could have a better relationship with China is just absurd, they need a better ... • 3. A Short Story : A Story? While driving down Lemon Grove Boulevard, after leaving the motel, Marlene smiled, recalling the past few hours she had spent there, rushing to get home before Jerry and Andrew arrived. Pulling into the garage, she went into the house, stopping at a bathroom and brushed her hair as she put on fresh lipstick. Relieved, she had arrived home ahead of her husband and father–in–law, going into the kitchen to make a fresh pot of coffee. While waiting for them, she sat at the counter and glanced through the morning paper. The phone rang, answering it, she said, "Barnes residence may I help you?" "Now, I know why you are always late for lunch!" "What do you mean?" Marlene asked, detecting anger in her mother's voice. "What are you doing? You are a married woman and know better than to get involved with another man. It will get you a one–way ticket to hell. What about your church, and your family, don't you care about anyone but yourself?" Her mother asked. "Mom, have you lost it? What are you talking about?" Sounding angry, her mother said, "Don't be coy with me? Your boyfriend called. What in God's name are you doing?" Acting innocent, Marlene asked, "I don't know what you are talking about?" Without hesitating, Katherine said, "Okay, let's start at the beginning. You left your phone on my counter, it rang, I answered it, and a man said, 'Hello, sweetheart, I love you." "I was speechless when he said, 'Marlene, this is Frank, I'll meet you at the motel. Love you.'" ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many ways to express anger, these can be positive or negative and can result in money being spent, lives being saved or lost, and relationships changing for better or worse. When I was a kid, me and my dad lived in Florida. On the weekends we would go out boating. Crystal clear water all around, the smell of the sea filling your nose, the not as pleasant taste of salt water in your mouth. Going out on the ocean was the best part of being there. When we moved we lost all that. We went to Greybull, Wyoming, a small town where my father grew up. I made a few friends and we all had lots of fun together. My dad was usually working, fixing the house or out on a job. Most of the time he took me with him and I helped out. During the winter we would go out to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She kept her dark hues locked onto Lincoln, her head shaking. She couldn't imagine how hard it was for him to leave his daughter, from her understanding she was only a few weeks old. She could never do that, leave something so precious behind to go out, out into hell. She shook her head from side to side. Her staring at him, like she was, probably made him feel uneasy, like she was judging him and part of her was. Over the last several years, I have seen multiple news stories covering the Midwest's drinking problem. According to Bustle.com, Lincoln was found to be one of the top ten drunkest cities in America. This doesn't come as much of a shock to me. Drinking is part of Nebraska's culture. Small Nebraska towns are full of drinkers; even minors are allowed to participate. Even though I am from a small town, I didn't drink until I was in college, and even then I did so in a responsible manner. • 13. Descriptive Essay On Car To start off a car defines a person very well, it shows personal interests, values, and obviously how much money they are willing to spend on transportation. Also my personal career will definitely contain some greasy fun work preferably Diesel Technician. One of my first few memories with cars is me just playing with toys when I was very little. By the time I was five or six my parents had given me a miniature truck I could drive around the block and yard. Not long after that I got into bikes. Within a couple of months I had a fleet of bikes ranging, from a bike from the nineteen forties to a newer chopper styled bike. As soon as I turned fourteen I got a real job. Before I could afford a vehicle I drove around and constantly fixed my grandpa's junk truck. One bad thing is that his truck belonged in the junkyard. It leaked gas, oil, and transmission fluid after three months of driving it and it went straight to the junkyard. Then a couple months later at fifteen, I had already bought my own small truck. This was quite the step up this one only leaked oil, but it was very slow. Going from zero to sixty mph took about twenty five seconds. This is when I got myself a nice car that was fast, comfortable, and didn't leak anything. That car was a ninety six Lincoln Town Car, but the car has over two hundred twenty thousand miles on it. After putting ten thousand miles on it in seven months it went to the junkyard. Now comes the nicest, most reliable, and smallest car that I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Little American flags on the corners of the cars, police everywhere and patriotic music blaring. OK, technically the music is from my car, but it's a good time to share a patriotic tune when the president drives by. • 15. Analysis Of The Poem ' Taps Upon The Grass ' Taps upon the grass. We moved to Prairie Grove, May of 2007 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. It was a beautiful day and even though the drive with a newborn and a traitor full of our belongings was intense. The scenery was absolutely memorizing, little did we know or realize how many wonderful things there were about this little town to explore. We had lived in Prairie Grove for a few years before we started attending local events. It was a Friday afternoon and I was heading to the school to pick up my oldest son Elliott from band practice and I noticed a lot of people setting up tents and walking around in old settler clothes. Men in blue and gray suits, some were riding horses. Women in petticoats and big bulky dresses. All walking around the Battlefield Park like this was something normal that went on everyday. I 'm thinking, "Ok, this town is kind of weird." Soon I started to learn the history of the town we moved to, and all the intricate details surrounding the town of Prairie Grove. Come to find out, Part of the Civil War battle was fought on the Prairie Grove Battlefield on December 7, 1862. The Confederate Army under Major General Thomas C Hindman engaged the Union Divisions of Brigadier General Francis J. Herron and James G. Blunt near Prairie Grove Church. They were suppose to attack Blunt on Cane Hill but this plan was foiled by the untimely arrival of two union divisions. The Hindman division ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From giving jobs to those minority groups and once former slaves after the Civil War, throwing the stock market and economy left and right, assisting Abraham Lincoln in winning elections and also winning the Civil War, helping rebuild the South and the nation's economy from the bottom up during the reconstruction era, taming the Wild West (which has a major direct influence on the American Government System), serving as one of the best ways of getting mail to citizens across the US, and expanding intercontinental trade to have its own manifest destiny. This railroad had a significant affect in the growth of this nation and its government. It's relationship and way it impacts the government is a result from multiple chain reactions that originated from the 1860s, 70s, 80s, etc. and I strongly believe, after all of my research, that our nations governmental system would be many decades behind if it wasn't for the transcontinental ... First, we drove about eight hours to Wisconsin Dells, and we stayed there for one night. We stayed at the Kalahari resort where there were many enjoyable activities. Some of them include laser tag, water parks, rock wall climbing, mini golf, and so much more. Afterward, we drove about nine hours to Cedar Point, Ohio. At Cedar point we stayed at a hotel right on the beach of Lake Erie, which was walking distance from the Cedar Point amusement park, which included the fastest roller coaster in the world inside. So, the next day we arose very early to get in line to get into the park. The line took about an hour to go through because there was an abounding amount of people, but it was worth it. As a result of waiting in line, the rides were so enjoyable and felt absolutely amazing. After about five hours at the amusement park, we went back to the hotel because we were all getting tired. We rested for about 30 minutes until my siblings and I decided to go swimming in the lake. It was a very hot day so it was nice to get in the chilly, refreshing water. We swam for an hour or so, and then we ate dinner. After that, we went back to the park. It was more pleasant at night since there were fewer people in the park, and it also wasn't as hot compared to during the day. This is the most pathetic thing I have heard from an administrator. If she knows that her school is so bad why would she single out those six students? The answer is that Marian is getting so bad with drugs that she knew she had to do something to stop these problems, so she used these students as an example for the rest of us. Pathos In The Lincoln Mcconaissance The Lincoln McConaissance A Lincoln sedan cruises through the streets at night, while Matthew McConaughey monologues about something seemingly deep in nature as the city lights twinkle in the background behind them. This could easily turn out to be the intro to some True Detective episode. Instead, it's the beginning of a wildly successful advertising campaign. In 2013, Lincoln Motor Company sold 81,694 vehicles to consumers in the United States (Statista). In 2014, Matthew McConaughey bloomed as an actor, exploding into one of the biggest stars Hollywood has to offer. Lincoln tabbed McConaughey to act in commercials for their advertising campaign. It can be tricky to use pathos in advertising without exaggerating or using logical fallacies such as scare tactics or "the slippery slope." Examples of this would be showing dying cancer patient children and then pleading for a donation. Lincoln is much more understated in their usage of pathos in their ads, which is also an option according to Alfano. "Sometimes the pathos appeal is more subtle, through evoking deep feelings such as patriotism, indignation, even hope or fantasy" (Alfano 54). In the commercial "Diner," McConaughey is sitting by the window in a diner drinking coffee at night, staring into the pouring rain while clearly pondering something. Human beings are dramatic creatures and like being subject to moody scenes such as this. The integration of pathos and ethos together in this scene is quite complicated–it relies on the audience first already being familiar with McConaughey and understanding the hidden connections of having a silent existential crisis, and then being put in a dreary mood by the rain in the commercial. At the end of the commercial when the rain clears up, McConaughey smiles and gets in his Lincoln and drives away. After putting the audience in a pensive mood, the pathos appeal is that by driving a Lincoln, all of McConaughey's problems went ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Paper Towns by John Green, I read about the life of a few high school seniors' last months of high school. Quentin Jacobsen and Margo Roth Spiegelman have been childhood friends forever because they are next–door neighbors. They were neighbors since the age of two. As they entered high school their friendship dwindled down. They still acknowledged one another, but they did not hang out together. Margo Roth Spiegelman was friends with some of the most popular people at school. Their names were Lacey Pemberton and Jase. Margo's plan after high school was to attend Florida State University's honors program. Quentin Jacobsen on the other hand was friends with people that were not–so well known. Quentin Jacobsen grew up in a nice family that consisted of his mother, father, and Quentin. Both of his parents were psychologists. Quentin planned on attending Duke University after his high school career. His friends were Marcus Lincoln and Ben Starling. His friends were all in band, not including Quentin. All of his friends enjoyed hanging out with one another in the band room all of the time, which is the reason that they were not well known by many of their fellow classmates. One day Margo snuck into Quentin's house at night and asked him to help her get revenge on her friends. Margo entered Quentin's room through his window from her window. She did this so she would not get into trouble for sneaking out by her parents or Quentin's. The reason why she asked Quentin for help after so many years of not talking to him was because she could not take her parent's car. Margo's parents had her car keys locked in a safe. She also knew that Quentin would probably have access to using his mother's car. Margo wanted to get revenge on her 'friends' because she was really upset that her friends were mean to her. When Haller meets Roulet for the first time in jail, the author lightly introduces the issue of jailhouse snitches. Although it is only a brief moment that Haller urges Roulet to stay quiet, it is an important moment that highlights an extremely common problem in today's jail system, which is that of eavesdroppers and the way they can further endanger their fellow criminals. Furthermore, Connelly excels at comparing the legal system to Haller's own philosophies. Much of the book revolves around the concept that the law is a machine, and that there are many gray areas. Haller uses all of the technicalities of the law in order to provide for the best defense of the client, and it is these technicalities or gray areas that is what makes the whole novel so believable. An example of this is when his investigator, Raul Levin, gives Haller a video of Roulet meeting the victim at the bar. Haller knows that he will have to turn it over to the prosecution in accordance with the rule of discovery, but at the same time, he uses it to his advantage because he "didn't technically have to turn over anything until I was sure I planned to use it in trial" (105). In today's legal system, there are countless instances of cases winning on technicalities or on very unspecific laws, so much that is clear to see how Haller's methods are constantly replicated in the real world. 5.
