Employment Law Case Presentation and Analysis Essay
Facts of the case: Imagine you are an HR manager and your boss and owner of the company, Bill,
comes to you suspecting his assistant, Paige, is stealing money from the company. Bill would like a
polygraph test conducted to see if Paige is stealing from the company. He would also like you to
conduct electronic surveillance on Paige's work e–mail for anything suspicious.
Additionally, Bill mentioned, "Paige is on Facebook. I know you are, too–why don't you 'friend' her
on Facebook and see what information you might find out."
You have heard rumors of a potential romantic relationship between Bill and Paige (Colorado State

owner of the company, vis–à–vis Paige, as well as Bill's proposals to the HR manager for a
polygraph test, monitoring Paige's emails and "friending" on Facebook (Colorado State University–

Paige's Cause of Action and Alternatives
2) Assume Paige discovered Bill's suspicions and that she is not stealing from the company. She
feels extremely uncomfortable at work now as a result and wants to quit, but she needs the money.
What should Paige do? (Colorado State University–Global Campus, 2014b).
Paige could bring a state court lawsuit based on the torts of IIED and invasion of privacy, or a
federal court action based on those torts plus hostile work environment under Title VII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964. She could also file a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission (EEOC) making similar claims under Title VII (Maatman, Jr. & Degroff, 2012),
especially hostile work environment.
3) How should Paige approach any legal cause of action, and what is that cause of action? Should
she commence litigation, or is another alternative more preferable? (Colorado State University–
Global Campus, 2014b).

procedures to correct the condition. An accident /incident reporting process was established and a
designated industrial medical facility to provide worker's compensation care was identified.
Employees, supervisors and managers were trained on the importance of workplace safety and the

Attention Getter For Persuasive Speech Outline
Specific Purpose Statement: To persuade my audience to make recycling mandatory throughout all
of Colorado.
Thesis: Colorado should make it so that recycling is mandatory throughout the state.
Pattern of Organization: Problem/Solution
Introduction
I. Attention Getter: Imagine a future where the Earth is covered in so much trash that we don't have
room to live. Have you guys seen Wall– E? If we don't change the ways we get rid of waste and
recycle than a future like that is inevitable. But with the changes I'm suggesting we should be able to
avoid this.
II. Reveal topic: Our way of storing waste is slowly ruining our planet. In order to keep the planet
healthy recycling should be made mandatory for all of Colorado.
III. Establish Credibility: In order to learn more about how recycling can benefit us, I looked into
the policies already in place and found that Fort Collins has a really well established system; One
that could benefit if it were put in place for all of Colorado.
IV. Thesis and Preview: Colorado should adapt its recycling policy to one similar to that of Fort
Collins in order to save the health of the earth by preventing pollution and conserving natural
resources.
Body
I. Problem
a. One of the biggest problems with trash is how we store it. Right now most of our waste is stored
in landfills. There is even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Blackfox Advanced Manufacturing Program for Military Veterans
Today there is a critical shortage of "qualified" workers. There are both worker shortages as well as
skill gaps in addition to low unemployment rates which are making it very difficult to recruit talent.
Finding the right mix of intelligence, talent, work ethic, and cultural fit in an employee is no easy
task. Employers are struggling to find just the right employee for a particular position, and are
considering broadening their reach by recruiting trained military veterans.
You might be wondering why you should hire a military veteran, especially if your company has

Health Council Research Paper
There is a myth within the public health system regarding youth, that youth can't do anything about
health policies. Well, newsflash it's not true, there are many youth councils on the local level and on
the state level. In fact, I am an 11th grader at Polaris Expeditionary Learning School and I am on 2
youth health councils. One being the Wellness Advisory Council for PSD Schools, which advises
the administration policies within the school district. On this council, there are admins from the
school district, health professionals such as family doctors, nurses, doctors UC Health, etc. There
are also PSD staff members such as teachers, PE teachers, principals as well as PSD parents or

In addition to adding that to your resume, you get to advise the state of Colorado of different health
policies. Now I know what you're thinking, "What? Me? Advising the State of Colorado? Ha? No!"
Well don't worry, I was in the same position at the beginning of this year. Once you meet the team, it
isn't as nerve–racking as much. Once on this council, you get to advise once again the state of
colorado's department of public health and environment on policies regarding the youth population
and the public. While you're also on this council you get to advise certain companies and different
sub–departments within the government of Colorado about certain things they are doing. Such as
the "Tobacco is Nasty" campaign came into speak with us about their campaign. When they came in
we gave them feedback on wheat was "hip" or "cool" in our generation, and they took our feedback
into high regards, then once finalized took our input and implemented it into their campaign. The
same happened for the campaign for "school–based health centers" within Colorado; and they were
from a sub–division within the C.D.P.H.E. Now in fact sometime he have city officials from the
governor's office come down to the C.D.P.H.E. to talk to us about what needs to be fixed within the
state in regards to the youth within Colorado. In fact, the last time a city official from the governor's
office came down, once we were done with giving him input of issues within Colorado, he invited
us to come down or over to the Capitol Building, to help give input and vote to approve and not
approve certain policies within Colorado. Which if you're me, that is pretty amazing, and this also
can go on your resume; now if you were given this opportunity and you put it on your resume your

Argumentative Essay : Legalization Of Marijuana
Amanda Montoya April 14, 2014 Kathy severance Argumentative essay #2 Legalization of
Marijuana Marijuana has been used in religious ceremonies or for medical purposes for thousands
of years. I have always been against the use of Marijuana up until four years ago when my husband
at the age of twenty seven underwent invasive surgery on his knee and has never been the same
since. Colorado took a huge step several years ago legalizing marijuana for medical use and in
recent years took the plunge to legalize it for recreational use. Marijuana is not always a bad thing
nor is it always a good thing. A lot of people will compare it to any other mind altering substance
and have very valid points. I would rather have a loved one or myself smoke marijuana or ingest it,
instead of popping pain pills or other harmful substances put on the market by the pharmaceutical
industry; Recreational use can be safe and accepting if it is regulated correctly and used responsibly.
One of the biggest issues since legalization of marijuana in Colorado is the effect it has on our youth
and future generations. In a report posted regarding the cause and effect on teenagers using
marijuana Krista Lisdahl, director of the Brain Imaging and Neuropsychology lab at University of
Wisconsin, Milwaukee, talks about the changes in the THC levels from the seventies to now. She
also talks about how through modern technology it is possible to physically see the difference in the
brain when a teenager is

Mission Statement : At 180 Investments Our Mission Essay
Mission Statement – At 180 Investments our mission is to use our creative design talents and
investment knowledge to breathe new life into Colorado communities through building a portfolio
of affordable rental properties and providing renovated and updated homes to consumers for
purchase. We have often found that communities in the rental sector become outdated and cookie
cutter, leaving the renter with a sense that their home is temporary. We believe that our design,
business/investment talent, and passion for those in our committee can offer our clients the stability
and comforts of home even if they don't own the property. By focusing on breathing new life into
real estate and offering homes for purchase we can give our clients a home that is customized and
emphasizes their person style and exceeds their long term needs. While part of our business ethics is
to meet estimated deadlines, 180 investments is not willing to see our work as simply a way to
churn and burn through as many real estate transactions as possible. This dedication to working for
and with our clients allows us to grow with our communities and build lasting profitable
relationships. Our dedication to not cutting corners or view clients as a number is what separates us
from the competition and furthers our long term growth as a company.

Crocs footwear Crocs, Inc., is indeed a Colorado creator of unique clogs that became popular for the
outdoor person in the late 1990s with both men, women, and children. These inexpensive shoes rely
on a proprietary resin material called Croslite. This helps produce a slip–resistant and non–marking

and providing a conforming fit. Crocs was meant for guys on boats and in other outdoor activities

Marketing Plan For A Company Essay
Introduction
Your company revolves in a product market, which means you offer goods or services and have to
compete with your competitors for customers. The good that your company offers, motherboards,
are popular in the electronics industry. Based on the reputation that your company's product is
basically flawless, you already charge a higher price than some of your competitors. Part of what
comes with higher priced item, is quality of the item and wonderful customer service. Based on the
size of your company, you do not pay your employees as much as your large competitor. We suggest
you change this, as you have a wonderful team, some of which are unhappy with their current pay.
After conducting a benchmarking study, our suggestion to you is minimal base salary increases for
some, and a minimal incentive program for others. Your salary will suffer slightly at first; however,
included in this is the creation of a marketing plan to focus on obtaining new clients in new fields,
which will increase overall profit for the company. For your employees, they will feel that their
concerns were addressed and show how much they are valued by you.
Let's begin our proposal with John Inves, as he is essential to the success of your business. While we
agree that you can run your company without him, we do not advise this. As part of your business,
John is your most valuable employee, as well as your biggest asset. As not part of your business,
John would be your biggest

New Belgium Commercial Analysis
The current television advertising for New Belgium is an extension of the personality of the
company (Ferrell & Hartline, 2014). The original commercial was a manifestation of the life of an
urban professional who wanted to spend more time enjoying the mountain life in Colorado. The
story is of a guy named Tinkerer who rehabs a bike in order to go on a riding adventure across the
Colorado Mountains (Beirne, 2005). This is similar to the story of how New Belgium Brewery was
founded when Jeff Lebesch, the co–founder went on a bike trip through Belgium and was inspired
to brew a beer based on yeast found on his journey. The Tinkerer commercial about following your
folly was a direct reflection of the culture and the spirit of New Belgium the company.

Compare And Contrast Two Places In California And Colorado
Growing up I had always been fond of traveling. Throughout my life I have been lucky enough to be

Colorado is also located on the western side of North America. The states that border Colorado are
Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. The demographics of
California are more diverse than other regions in the United States. The population of California is

Power of Buyers
In the United States, most states require three separate components in the supply chain: producers,
distributors, and retailers. This three–tiered system insulates distributors, as beer producers are not
permitted to sell beer directly to retailers or consumers.[5] The regulations in place augment the
power of buyers. Furthermore, distributors' purchase volume as a percent of the focal industry's
output is high. Conversely, the relative power of distributors is dependent on how reliant their
revenues are on beer sales. Overall, due to the relatively larger number of distributors compared to
beer manufacturers, the dominant position of the three largest brewers, as well as the brand loyalty
created by the manufacturers through brand differentiation, the power of buyers is moderate.
Substitutes
The threat of substitutes is high for the beer industry, and specifically for this strategic group.
According to the trade group Beverage Industry, alcohol beverage consumption per capita has risen
since 2000 at around one percent per year, which suggests that consumers on average are not
substituting non–alcoholic beverages for the alcohol they currently consume[6]. Since 1994,
consumption per capita has increased for the three major substitutes – premium beers, wine, and
spirits.[7] Although beer holds a majority

Sport Sponsorship Paper
Irwin, Sutton, and McCarthy (2008) define sponsorship as an agreement between a sport
organization and one other party that promotes each party's objectives. Sport sponsorship is
important because it adds to both the company sponsoring the organization and the organization
itself. Sponsorships provide organizations with a way to increase revenue through exposure and
reaching deals with broadcast companies (Irwin, Sutton, and McCarthy 2008). The Colorado
Rockies are a professional baseball team located in Denver, Colorado. The following companies
will add great value to the Colorado Rockies organization. The Coors Brewing Company will be a
tremendous asset to the Colorado Rockies organization. In partnering with the Colorado Rockies,
Coors will be seen as the official refreshment of the organization. Baseball fans align with Coors
Brewing Company target market. Research has found that companies look to sponsor events that are
directly associated with their target market (Greenhalgh and Greenwell, 2013). Ball Park hot dogs
will also reach their target market by partnering with the Rockies organization. Ball Park hot dogs
will be the official hot dog of the Colorado Rockies. This sponsorship will provide Ball Park with
exclusive rights, as it will be the only hot dog brand served at Colorado Rockies events. Partnering

Masterpiece Cakesham Case
Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission
Religion, whether we like it or not, influences many of our decisions as humans even without us
even knowing. Religion, for those who have grown up knowing it, or are believers in a religion,
have been taught to act and respond in specific ways to scenarios of all types. Whereas those who
are not affiliated religiously are influenced by decisions on matters of morality as well as law, which
has basis in religion. The case of Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission is
one surrounded by that of religiously based decisions and intentions from both religious Americans
and non–religious Americans. The cases origin dates to 2012, previous to the 2015 Supreme Court

With such a relevant case to current times and a necessary one to define the future of interactions
between businesses and citizens of all races and sexual orientations, clarification can only help the
future of these types of interactions. The court will most likely respond with a 5–4 decision in favor
of Masterpiece Cakeshop. As with the conservative justices, most will likely support that of
Masterpiece Cakeshop. Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, Associate Justice Samuel Alito, and the
newly appointed Associate Justice Neil Goursch would most likely choose to support the freedom of
religion and the right to refuse service, most likely quoting Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores, as they
tend to stay on the conservative side of the argument. Whereas Associate Justice Ruth Bader
Ginsberg, Associate Justice Stephen Breyer, Associate Justice Elena Kagan, and Associate Justice
Sonia Sotomayor would most likely stick with the argument that this is discrimination of gay
Americans, most likely quoting Employment Division, Department of Human Resources of Oregon
v. Smith during the proceedings. Chief Justice John G. Roberts would most likely maintain that
Masterpiece Cakeshop was not in the wrong. The real decision on whether or not Mr. Phillips was
right in refusing to produce a wedding cake for the couple would come down to Anthony M.
Kennedy. As Kennedy often takes the position of swing vote in the Supreme Court it is

Pepsico Restaurants Case Analysis Essay
PepsiCo's Restaurants
Definition of Problem
Senior Management of PepsiCo is evaluating the potential acquisition of two companies – Carts of
Colorado and California Pizza Kitchen – in order to expand the company's restaurant business. If
indeed PepsiCo decides to pursue the acquisition of one or both, they must decide how to align each
of these business units in its historically decentralized management approach and how to forge
relationships between the acquired business units and existing business units. In their evaluation,
Senior Management is faced with the question of whether the necessary capital investment in order
to purchase one or both of the businesses can be profitable for each of the acquired business units,
but must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the previous merger with the Frito–Lay Company, and acquisitions of Pizza Hut, Taco Bell,
and Kentucky Fried Chicken, PepsiCo successfully ventured into different segments in the food
services industry, but was also able to create synergies with its soft drink product. PepsiCo also
attempted to integrate into trucking transportation and bottle manufacturing in the 1970s.
PepsiCo faces two very different companies in its most recent potential acquisition. Carts of
Colorado is a designer, manufacturer, and merchandiser of mobile food carts – not directly in the
food services industry, they do cater to a large corporate customer base along with PepsiCo that
includes Coca–Cola, Burger King, Dunkin Donuts, and Mrs. Fields. Alternatively, California Pizza
Kitchen is a casual dining restaurant with 25 locations in eight states, typically located in affluent
areas.
Sales for Carts of Colorado in 1991 were $7,650,000 and EBITDA in 1991 was $945,187 or a 12%
operating margin. The mobile food business has had success since it is estimated that the 20,000
units sold by Carts of Colorado are generating about $2 billion in foodservice sales annually (an
average of $100,000 per cart). It is believed internally at PepsiCo that Carts of Colorado is 18
months ahead of its competition in engineering and design. Given that PepsiCo, through its Pizza
Hut, Taco Bell, and

Charlie Craig And Mullens: Wedding Cake Analysis
In 2012, Charlie Craig and David Mullens were denied a wedding cake from Masterpiece Cakeshop
due to the owner's, Jack C. Phillips, religious beliefs. Phillips reasons were that his baking was
meant to be art unto God and that creating a cake for a same–sex couple would displease God,
which he reinforced with the fact that Colorado had not legalized same–sex marriage. The couple
then filed charges with the Colorado Civil Rights Commission under the Colorado Anti–
Discrimination Act: this legislation prohibits any public accommodation from denying any person
services based on gender, sex, race, sexual orientation, etc. The court had ruled in favor of the
couple and ordered Phillips to provide cakes to same–sex marriages, but to "change its company

Quid Pro Quo
Quid Pro Quo Sexual Harassment
Maureen's substantiated complaint of sexual harassment alleging her supervisor had demanded
sexual favors is governed under federal law by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. "Put
simply, sexual harassment involves unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and
other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature" (Warner, et al., 2012, p. 967). Under Title VII
there is further delineation to include quid pro quo and hostile work environment. The scenario
presents that Maureen is receiving repeated demands from her supervisor for sexual favors. "If any
part of a job is made conditional on sexual activity, there is quid pro quo sexual harassment"
(Warner, et. al., 2012, p. 967). In addition, under ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

filed with the appropriate authority at the complainant's workplace and such authority fails to
initiate a reasonable investigation of a complaint and take prompt remedial action if appropriate
(C.R.S. 24–34–402 (2016)." Under Colorado law it may be questionable if Business Card Services
did take "remedial action" with regards to simply "warning" the supervisor not to do the action
again. Additionally, Business Card Services is stating it had done everything in its power to take
action. Maureen could contend that having her under the same supervisor was not appropriate and

The Natural Resources Of Colorado Essay
Colorado is famous for being rich in natural resources. From the treasured gold and silver that
helped incorporate the state into the Union, to the great Colorado River that provides millions of
people throughout the west with water everyday. Yet, some of the most impactful contributors to the
history and culture have been the resources of coal, oil, gas and as other "energy" supplies. These
energy resources have provided jobs along with wealth in abundance across the state in classic
boom and bust fashion. Colorado's coal, oil and gas industries have also fueled controversial topics,
including coke mining and hydraulic fracking. Today the switch to sustainable measures taking
place in Colorado, such as solar and wind power, continue to shape history and culture. The steps
provide constructive jobs, advocate for energy efficiency and produce a positive model to inspire as
well as guide other states into a environmentally conscious world.
Colorado has a longstanding past of providing the nation with the needed coal, oil, gas and other
"energy" supplies, while providing jobs along with wealth in abundance through boom and bust
fashion. These industries show a trend of bringing in a positive flood of employees along with a
helpful economic boost; only soon to be followed by an overwhelming loss of jobs and confusion.
Lee H. Scamehorn, in High Altitude Energy: A History of Fossil Fuels in Colorado, portrayed one
boom and bust situation Colorado's coal industry experienced.

Medical Marijuana Case Study
INTRODUCTION
An issue with far–reaching effects for business owners and HR professionals, is the advent of
medical marijuana and its usage in the workplace that has led to a host of questions and concerns.
For many business owners, this isn't a new issue. 20 states and the District of Columbia have laws
of some type that legalize medical use of marijuana: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado,
Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New
Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, according
to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Others are considering legislation, and, to top it
off, Washington State and Colorado have legalized marijuana for recreational ... Show more content

v. Bureau of Labor & Industries. In that case, the Oregon Court confirmed that employers are not
required to accommodate use of medical marijuana under the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act. The
Court specifically held that an employer was justified in revoking an employee's offer of permanent
employment after he notified the employer of his medical marijuana use. Following termination, the
employee argued that he was discharged because of a disability which the employer failed to
accommodate. The Court sided with the employer that the employee was not protected and the
United States Controlled Substances Act – a law that the Court concluded preempted the Oregon
statute authorizing use of medical marijuana. (Oles Morrison Rinker Baker LLP)
WHAT SHOULD EMPLOYERS DO?
Since so many states now allow, or are considering allowing, marijuana usage, employers should
take the opportunity to review their current drug and testing policies and update them if necessary.
This is particularly important when companies have offices in states that specifically provide
employment protections for those with prescriptions for marijuana.
Before making any changes to policies, companies should involve a cross–functional team that
involves in–house counsel, outside attorneys, and HR. This will ensure that policies are legal,
defensible, and

European Verrants And European Immigrants In The Late 19th...
During the late 19th century a majority of the immigrant coming into America were European.
Primarily German, Russians, Swedes, Italians, and English immigrants were arriving during this
time period. According to Donato, by 1930 "Mexicans became the largest immigrant group"
(Donato 29). There was an over 1000% increase in Mexicans during the 20's and 30's. The other
large group of immigrant during this time was the Germans and Russians. Due to the roll back of
laws enacted by Catherine the Great that provided farming jobs for many German and Russians,
many of them immigrated to the United States in order to have a better life. According to Donato,
the German Russians "experienced rapid social and economic mobility in Colorado's sugar–beet–
producing towns" because they were "thrifty, smart and industrious" (Donato 30), and he even
called the "a model immigrant group". The German Russians were successful, but according to
Donato and Valdes, not completely on their own. Many German Russian farmers received help and
assistance from the sugar beet companies in the form of " money to buy food and supplies, teams of
horses, and other farm necessities...[,] tools, technology, advice on planting, and cultivation, cheap
rental and easy terms of purchase" (Donato 31). Compared to the experience of Mexican farmers,
the German Russia's success was "more involved" (Donato 31). Due to the lack of German Russian
farmers in the state, many companies began recruiting Hispanics and Mexicans as

The Best Graduate School For Me
Introduction
As a junior at Iowa State University pursuing a B.S. degree in Animal Ecology with an emphasis in
Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, it is time for me to look into my future. I have considered going
right into employment, but I think that getting a Master of Science degree is more beneficial to me.
Most companies require Fish Biologists to have an M.S. degree and eventually that's what I would
like to be. In this report I discuss, analyze, and choose the best graduate school for me based on the
final score of criteria ratings per three graduate schools of my choice. The purpose of this analysis,
is to analyze three companies and evaluate them based on my goals and preferences, to determine
which one will be best for me. The graduate schools I chose for this analysis are the State University
of New York, Graduate School of Clemson, and Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado
State University. I chose these schools because they offer my program of study for a M.S. degree in
a field that relates to my B.S. degree from Iowa State University. Likewise, these are schools I have
considered after speaking with my academic advisor from Iowa State University.
Evaluation Criteria
Before I chose a graduate school, I determined what my criteria is. My criteria is the location of the
school, tuition cost, and graduation rate. For location, I want to be as close to family and friends as
possible as they are important to me. With them being closer, I am able to

Bill would like a polygraph test conducted to see if Paige is stealing from the company. He would also like you to conduct electronic surveillance on Paige's work e–mail for anything suspicious. Additionally, Bill mentioned, "Paige is on Facebook. I know you are, too–why don't you 'friend' her on Facebook and see what information you might find out." You have heard rumors of a potential romantic relationship between Bill and Paige (Colorado State University–Global Campus, 2014b). Paige's Cause of Action and Alternatives 2) Assume Paige discovered Bill's suspicions and that she is not stealing from the company. She feels extremely uncomfortable at work now as a result and wants to quit, but she needs the money. What should Paige do? (Colorado State University–Global Campus, 2014b). Paige could bring a state court lawsuit based on the torts of IIED and invasion of privacy, or a federal court action based on those torts plus hostile work environment under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. She could also file a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) making similar claims under Title VII (Maatman, Jr. & Degroff, 2012), especially hostile work environment. 3) How should Paige approach any legal cause of action, and what is that cause of action? Should she commence litigation, or is another alternative more preferable? (Colorado State University– Global Campus, 2014b). World At Work Re Certification World at Work Re–Certification Projects – 2 per year – 1 credit each 2013 Change in Health Care Benefit Providers – 11/3/2013 – The division had historically provided the same benefits as a sister company. These benefits were perceived to be more generous than those offered by the parent company. A week before open enrollment was to occur the large local health care network announced negotiations with our medical provider were not on track and they most likely would not be in–network providers in the coming year. This impacted an extremely large percentage of employee's health care providers, thus employees would experience higher health care cost. The program emphasized the importance of bringing potentially dangerous conditions to management's attention and provided procedures to correct the condition. An accident /incident reporting process was established and a designated industrial medical facility to provide worker's compensation care was identified. Employees, supervisors and managers were trained on the importance of workplace safety and the procedures to follow when a potential unsafe condition existed, or when a workplace incident or injury occurred. Vision Care Program – 05/11/2014 – 05/22/2014 All manufacturing personnel were to wear safety glasses but most employees did not. The existing safety glass program was not being communicated or used. Thesis: Colorado should make it so that recycling is mandatory throughout the state. Pattern of Organization: Problem/Solution Introduction I. Attention Getter: Imagine a future where the Earth is covered in so much trash that we don't have room to live. Have you guys seen Wall– E? If we don't change the ways we get rid of waste and recycle than a future like that is inevitable. But with the changes I'm suggesting we should be able to avoid this. II. Reveal topic: Our way of storing waste is slowly ruining our planet. In order to keep the planet healthy recycling should be made mandatory for all of Colorado. III. Establish Credibility: In order to learn more about how recycling can benefit us, I looked into the policies already in place and found that Fort Collins has a really well established system; One that could benefit if it were put in place for all of Colorado. IV. Thesis and Preview: Colorado should adapt its recycling policy to one similar to that of Fort Collins in order to save the health of the earth by preventing pollution and conserving natural resources. • 5. Health Council Research Paper There is a myth within the public health system regarding youth, that youth can't do anything about health policies. Well, newsflash it's not true, there are many youth councils on the local level and on the state level. In fact, I am an 11th grader at Polaris Expeditionary Learning School and I am on 2 youth health councils. One being the Wellness Advisory Council for PSD Schools, which advises the administration policies within the school district. Once you meet the team, it isn't as nerve–racking as much. Once on this council, you get to advise once again the state of colorado's department of public health and environment on policies regarding the youth population and the public. While you're also on this council you get to advise certain companies and different sub–departments within the government of Colorado about certain things they are doing. Such as the "Tobacco is Nasty" campaign came into speak with us about their campaign. When they came in we gave them feedback on wheat was "hip" or "cool" in our generation, and they took our feedback into high regards, then once finalized took our input and implemented it into their campaign. The same happened for the campaign for "school–based health centers" within Colorado; and they were from a sub–division within the C.D.P.H.E. Now in fact sometime he have city officials from the governor's office come down to the C.D.P.H.E. to talk to us about what needs to be fixed within the state in regards to the youth within Colorado. In fact, the last time a city official from the governor's office came down, once we were done with giving him input of issues within Colorado, he invited us to come down or over to the Capitol Building, to help give input and vote to approve and not approve certain policies within Colorado. Which if you're me, that is pretty amazing, and this also can go on your resume; now if you were given this opportunity and you put it on your resume your most likely will ... • 6. Argumentative Essay : Legalization Of Marijuana Amanda Montoya April 14, 2014 Kathy severance Argumentative essay #2 Legalization of Marijuana Marijuana has been used in religious ceremonies or for medical purposes for thousands of years. I have always been against the use of Marijuana up until four years ago when my husband at the age of twenty seven underwent invasive surgery on his knee and has never been the same since. Colorado took a huge step several years ago legalizing marijuana for medical use and in recent years took the plunge to legalize it for recreational use. Marijuana is not always a bad thing nor is it always a good thing. A lot of people will compare it to any other mind altering substance and have very valid points. I would rather have a loved one or myself smoke marijuana or ingest it, instead of popping pain pills or other harmful substances put on the market by the pharmaceutical industry; Recreational use can be safe and accepting if it is regulated correctly and used responsibly. One of the biggest issues since legalization of marijuana in Colorado is the effect it has on our youth and future generations. In a report posted regarding the cause and effect on teenagers using marijuana Krista Lisdahl, director of the Brain Imaging and Neuropsychology lab at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, talks about the changes in the THC levels from the seventies to now. She also talks about how through modern technology it is possible to physically see the difference in the brain when a teenager is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mission Statement : At 180 Investments Our Mission Essay Mission Statement – At 180 Investments our mission is to use our creative design talents and investment knowledge to breathe new life into Colorado communities through building a portfolio of affordable rental properties and providing renovated and updated homes to consumers for purchase. We have often found that communities in the rental sector become outdated and cookie cutter, leaving the renter with a sense that their home is temporary. We believe that our design, business/investment talent, and passion for those in our committee can offer our clients the stability and comforts of home even if they don't own the property. By focusing on breathing new life into real estate and offering homes for purchase we can give our clients a home that is customized and emphasizes their person style and exceeds their long term needs. While part of our business ethics is to meet estimated deadlines, 180 investments is not willing to see our work as simply a way to churn and burn through as many real estate transactions as possible. This dedication to working for and with our clients allows us to grow with our communities and build lasting profitable relationships. Our dedication to not cutting corners or view clients as a number is what separates us from the competition and furthers our long term growth as a company. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Power of Buyers In the United States, most states require three separate components in the supply chain: producers, distributors, and retailers. This three–tiered system insulates distributors, as beer producers are not permitted to sell beer directly to retailers or consumers.[5] The regulations in place augment the power of buyers. Furthermore, distributors' purchase volume as a percent of the focal industry's output is high. Conversely, the relative power of distributors is dependent on how reliant their revenues are on beer sales. Overall, due to the relatively larger number of distributors compared to beer manufacturers, the dominant position of the three largest brewers, as well as the brand loyalty created by the manufacturers through brand differentiation, the power of buyers is moderate. Substitutes The threat of substitutes is high for the beer industry, and specifically for this strategic group. According to the trade group Beverage Industry, alcohol beverage consumption per capita has risen since 2000 at around one percent per year, which suggests that consumers on average are not substituting non–alcoholic beverages for the alcohol they currently consume[6].
