The UKM STYLE GUIDE is for writing references at the back of a
thesis and other format such as, writing abstract, font
requirement, type of papers, margin and others.
The Faculty of Law FOOTNOTING STYLE is for writing footnotes
(at the bottom of a page)

The UKM writing conventions seek to
create a consistent, convenient and
unified system of referencing for its
scholars, be they teachers or students,
who are doing their academic writing at
this university.

What is a footnote?
A footnote is a note at the bottom of a
page, giving further information about
something mentioned in the text above, or
it may be an extra comment added to
what has just been mentioned therein. It
also provides the source of information for
the readers.

Footnotes should be numbered
consecutively in the same chapter
and start anew in the next.

Use single spacing in writing the reference /
menggunakan jarak atau langkau sebaris
The first line of each footnote should be indented
one space / baris pertama hendaklah disantak

Font size should not be smaller than 10 points / fon
