Qualifications: B.Sc. (Hons.) and at least 2nd class M.Sc. Agronomy or Soil Science or Agricultural Chemistry or
Bachelor of Engineering (Agricultural Engineering or Civil Engineering) from a recognized university;
 Five years experience in the Design and execution of Soil and Water Conservation works after acquiring
the minimum basic qualifications. Preference will be given to candidate possessing Ph.D. degree in
Agronomy or Soil Science or Agriculture Chemistry.
Economist (Class-I)

 Hindi/ Sanskrit up to Matric Standard or higher Education.
 Part time experience will not be considered.
Relaxation in Age:
 Upper age limit is relaxable up to five years on general upper age limit for the candidates belonging to the
following categories:
 Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes-A, of Haryana State only.
 Upper age limit is relaxable up to the age of forty five years for the candidates belonging to the following
categories:
 Un-married female candidates of Haryana State only.
 Women whose husbands have been ordered by civil/criminal courts to pay maintenance to them;
women whose husbands have remarried; widows; women who are legally separated from their
husbands or have been divorced; women living separately from their husbands for more than two
years because of desertion wives of serving disabled military personnel and widows of those who
were killed in action. Women living separately from their husbands due to desertion will be
required to submit with their application an affidavit to the effect that she has been deserted by her
husband, and has been living separately from him for more than two years and this affidavit
should be countersigned by two responsible persons such as members of the Legislature, Local
Bodies including Panchayats and the Bar Association. However, where a woman who has re-
married, she would not be eligible for the above concession in the matter of age.
 Age relaxation for PH candidates of Haryana:
 Upper age limit is relaxable for PH category candidates of Haryana by 5 years (10 years for
SC/BCA) of Haryana State.
Note
 The age for DSP is not less than 21 years & not more than 27 years as on closing date i.e. 05 Feb, 2019
 The eligibility of candidates with regard to age, qualifications, any other certificates and experience (if
required) etc. will be determined as on 05 Feb, 2019 (Closing date).
Nationality: In order to be eligible for applying for the post, a candidate should be:-
a) A citizen of India, or
b) A citizen of Nepal, or
c) A subject of Bhutan, or
d) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka and East African countries of
Kenya, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) with the
intention of permanently settling in India:
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c) and (d) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of
eligibility has been issued by the Government of India and if he/she belongs to category (d) the certificate of
eligibility will be issued for a period of one year after which such candidate will be retained in service subject to his
having acquired Indian Citizenship.
Scheme of Examination
 Preliminary Examination (for Screening only) 200 marks
 Main Written Examination 600 marks
 Personality Test/ Viva- Voce 75 marks
Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Examination shall comprise of two papers (Objective Type /
Multiple Choices) and carry a maximum of 200 marks as under:

 Both the Question papers shall be of Objective type (multiple choices) questions.
 Both the Question papers shall be set bilingual i.e. English and in Hindi.
 For each wrong answer, one fourth (0.25) mark will be deducted.
 The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates, who are declared qualified
for admission to the Main Examination, will not be counted for final selection because it is only for short
listing of category-wise candidates and no marks-sheet will be supplied to successful or
unsuccessful candidates.
 Candidates who qualify for the Main Examination will have to apply again on a separate
application form for Main Examination which will be supplied to them by the Commission
along with detailed instructions for Main Written Examination.

Note:
Candidates will not be allowed to offer the following combinations of subjects:
 Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration
 Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
 Hindi Literature, English Literature, Sanskrit Literature and Punjabi Literature
 Of the Engineering subjects viz. Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical
Engineering - not more than one subject.
 A Candidate shall specify in his application form the optional subjects he desires to take. No change in the
selection of optional subjects once made will be allowed. In case any candidate appears in a subject other
than the subjects actually opted by him, his answer-book in that subject will be cancelled.
 No candidate shall be called for the personality / viva-voce test unless he attains at least 45% marks in the
aggregate of all the written papers and a score of minimum (33%) marks each in English and Hindi
Language (compulsory papers). The final selection shall be based on the merit list to be prepared on the
basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates in the Main (Written) Examination and Personality /
Viva- Voce Test i.e. out of 675 marks and keeping in view the preference of services exercised by the
candidates. The candidates shall write their answers in Hindi or English (except the language or literature
papers). The papers of General Knowledge and optional subjects unless otherwise directed, shall be
answered either in Hindi language or English language but no candidate shall be permitted to answer any
one paper partly in Hindi and partly in English
Viva-voce (Interview/Personality Test): The candidate will be interviewed by a Board who will have before them
a record of his career. He will be asked questions on matters of general interest.

  • 4. Note (for all vacancies)  Hindi/ Sanskrit up to Matric Standard or higher Education.  Part time experience will not be considered. Relaxation in Age:  Upper age limit is relaxable up to five years on general upper age limit for the candidates belonging to the following categories:  Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes-A, of Haryana State only.  Upper age limit is relaxable up to the age of forty five years for the candidates belonging to the following categories:  Un-married female candidates of Haryana State only.  Women whose husbands have been ordered by civil/criminal courts to pay maintenance to them; women whose husbands have remarried; widows; women who are legally separated from their husbands or have been divorced; women living separately from their husbands for more than two years because of desertion wives of serving disabled military personnel and widows of those who were killed in action. Women living separately from their husbands due to desertion will be required to submit with their application an affidavit to the effect that she has been deserted by her husband, and has been living separately from him for more than two years and this affidavit should be countersigned by two responsible persons such as members of the Legislature, Local Bodies including Panchayats and the Bar Association. However, where a woman who has re- married, she would not be eligible for the above concession in the matter of age.  Age relaxation for PH candidates of Haryana:  Upper age limit is relaxable for PH category candidates of Haryana by 5 years (10 years for SC/BCA) of Haryana State. In case any candidate appears in a subject other than the subjects actually opted by him, his answer-book in that subject will be cancelled.  No candidate shall be called for the personality / viva-voce test unless he attains at least 45% marks in the aggregate of all the written papers and a score of minimum (33%) marks each in English and Hindi Language (compulsory papers). The final selection shall be based on the merit list to be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates in the Main (Written) Examination and Personality / Viva- Voce Test i.e. out of 675 marks and keeping in view the preference of services exercised by the candidates.
