5. Gate valve
• Gate valve is most simplest type of valve in, the
valve is linearly open and closed, but the limitation
of this valve is that it can be fully open or fully
closed,
• Gate valves should not be used for regulation or
throttling of flow because accurate control is not
possible.
• The high velocity of the flow in the partially open
valve may cause erosion of the disc and seating
surfaces and also creates vibration and noise.
6. How to identify it
• The valve is hand operated by wheel ( the
wheel is act as a nut and the bolt is a axial on
which the control plate is fixed, when we turn
the wheel the wheel not move upward but
the axel move out ward
8. Globe valve
• Globe valve used during which we need to
stop, start the flow at the same time regulate
also
• Globe valve provide better shut off then gate
valve , but it is also costlier the gate valve also
9. •HOW CAN IT IDENTIFY
• If the globe valve is open
Condition then also we can
Not see through it
• And as in Gate valve the axle moves and wheel
stay fixed, In this the hand wheel move along the
axel
• Also but shape also
10. PLUG VALVE
• Plug valve is Quarter-turn rotary motion Valve
that uses a tapered or cylindrical plug to stop or
start the flow.
• The disk is in plug shape, which has a passage to
pass the flow. Plug valve used as on-off stop
valves and capable of providing bubble tight
shutoff.
• Plug valve can be used in vacuum to high-
pressure & temperature applications
11. HOW TO IDENTIFY IT
• As we can observed that in
Gate valve and Globe valve
They provide the hand wheel
In the Plug valve there is only
a handle
• And the shape is mostly straight only !
12. Ball valve
• A Ball valve is a quarter-turn rotary motion valve
that uses a ball-shaped disk to stop or start the
flow.
• Most ball valves are of the quick-acting type,
which requires a 90° turn of the valve handle to
operate the valve.
• The ball valve is Smaller and lighter than a gate
valve of same size and rating.
13. Butterfly valve
• A Butterfly valve is a quarter-turn rotary motion
valve, that is used to stop, regulate, and start the
flow.
• Butterfly valve has a short circular body.
• Butterfly Valve is suitable for large valve
applications due to Compact, lightweight design
that requires considerably less space, as
compared to other valves.
14. HOW TO IDENTIFY IT
• The valve is look like
A coupling, I mean to
Say that the pipe
Diameter is same for
Inlet and outlet of valve
15. Pinch Valve
• The pinch valve is used in slurry controlled
operation .
• Basically the concept is that at home we have
rubber water pipe, if we need to stop the flow of
water we just usually pinch the pipe from where
we are holding it, So the same concept apple's
here also
16. HOW TO IDENTIFY IT
• As we can observed that
There is a square casing
On valve by which the
valve is operated
17. Pressure Relief valve ( POPUP VALVE )
• A pressure Relief valve or pressure safety valve
are used to protect equipment or piping
system during an overpressure event or in the
event of vacuum.
• This valve releases the pressure or vacuum at
pre-defined set pressure.
18. HOW TO IDENTIFY IT
• The safety valve their
Is a elongated portion on
Top the valve In which the
spring loaded casing
(upper housing )
