Introduction
Processing rules simplify data collection
and manage content as it is sent to
reporting.
What's great with Processing Rules ?
▪ It comes free in your Adobe Marketing Cloud product. And is ready to use without any big
changes to your overall approach to implementation.
▪ No code knowledge required and can manipulate data collection without any coding
knowledge
▪ No IT team dependency Rules can be set up, enabled without a test cycle, completely
independent of IT or QA teams.
▪ Places where it's presence really matters Third-party pages where you can’t change your
code to put a Tag Management snippet on.
▪ Processing rules are set at the report-suite level. Can easily be copied from suite to suite,
having specific suite mentioned.

▪ Realized that you have missed to capture a any query string, post s code roll out
▪ Wish to overwrite any variable value without re-writing s code
▪ Wish to alter data being captured at report suite level

Configure Processing Rules
How does the Processing Rules Work ?
▪ Processing rules let you make changes to data based on defined conditions. When attributes or values match defined conditions, values can be
set and deleted, and events can be set.
▪ Processing rules are applied to data as it is collected, and rules are applied to all data that comes through the AppMeasurement libraries and
through the Data Insertion API. Processing rules also apply to the full and log data sources. These sources contain data that represents a hit or
an action that a user takes. Processing rules do not apply to other data sources.

Configure Processing Rules
Create Marketing Channel processing rules, which determine if a visitor hit meets the criteria assigned to a channel.
This procedure uses an email rule as an example. The example assumes that you have added an email channel to your list of channels on the
Marketing Channel Manager page.

Processing Rules
Use Boolean logic (if / then statements) to configure a rule. For example, in an email channel rule, provide
the settings or information emphasized in the following rule statement:
"If All or Any of the following are true: Query String Parameter<value>exists...
"Then identify the channel as Email...
"Then set the channel's value to Query String Parameter<value>."
