2. MEANING AND CONCEPT
•Simulation – to imitate exactly
•It is the controlled representation of reality
•Teaching is the act of imparting instructions,
skills to learner in classroom situation to bring
about changes in the behavior of the learner
•Simulated teaching means role-playing in
which the process of teaching is carried out

conditions.
•Is used prior to the classroom teaching practice with
the objective of developing a specific skill of
communication
4. STEPS OF SIMULATED
TEACHING
1. ASSIGNMENT OF ROLES
2. SELECTION OF TEACHING SKILLS
3. PREPARATION OF WORK SCHEDULE
4. DETERMINATION OF OBSERVATION SCHEDULE
5. ORGANIZATION OF PRACTICE SESSION & DISCUSSON
6. ALTERING ROLES
5. •Bridges the gap between theory and practical
•Various teaching skills are developed
•Builds self confidence of would be teachers
•Discussion provides immediate feedback
ADVANTAGES
6. • Is an artificial situation
•Trainee teacher may feel conscious
• Lack of interest among pupil teachers
